we have 2 standard office lisp files that are in our startup suites. the problem we are having is that they don't load when you start ACA so you have to go into the appload dialogue box and click on the load button. then close and restart ACA before they'll work (or drag and drop from the library...

They are loaded from a trusted location.
I though maybe this was a 2010 issue, but here I am in a brand new 2012 setup and experiencing the same problem. For some reason, my toolpalettes disappear on startup and sometimes when switching between projects. I have my workspace saved with the following anchored to the left side of the screen: Properties, External References, Layer manager, Project Navigator
Design Center, and Toolpalettes. When I close Acad (or it closes itself) and restart, sometimes the tool palettes are there and sometimes not. All of the other palettes are there save that one. They also have a habit of reordering themselves if you pin one open and the minimize it it drops to the bottom of the page. Very annoying when you think your PN is at the top, and it isn't, but i digress.
I am working with Windows 7, 64bit, dual screens. This happens with equal frequency in both 10 and 12. (Working in 12 to develop rollout for office and working out kinks. No I do not run them both at the same time.)
One more clue, I noticed in the command history that TOOLPALETTES loads and is followed imediatly by _ToolPalettes.
I changed the 'startup' value from 1 to 2 in ACA 2012, now program crashes. On start up it displays the first error message 3 times (see attached), then opens a blank drawing. Once a select a file it displays the second message 70 times then opens the drawing. After a few seconds a fatal error message is displayed and program closes.
Error messages are the same other than address location changes.
I have tried a repair and a reinstall to no avail.
Got a problem with tool palettes ever since ACA 2012. When ever I start ACA, I have to push cntrl+3 to show the tool palettes. It's starting to get anoying that I have to do this, and I can't find any setting that will let the tool palettes display on startup.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have been getting fatal errors during my user account but not in my admin account. I logged in as admin and repaired Autocad Architecture 2010, using the system disk. I got back the report that Autocad was repaired. However, when I returned to my user account, I get an unhandled expection error when I start up Autocad.Architecture 2010. Do I need to uninstall Autocad Architecture 2010 and then reinstall or should I just pick the option to reinstall Autocad Architecture and then do I have to another registration code?

Is it possible to tie the applications loaded in the Startup Suite to profiles? Many of our clients have speciic requirements and we have client-specific routines to quickly create their drawings and loading a profile that loads only their routines would be a time saver.

I have a number of .lsp routines that I have loaded into the startup suite. I have their location pathed correctly and at the top of the list in the support file search path under options.
Problem is...they load into the drawing when a drawing is opened, but they will not execute. If I type APPLOAD and re-load them individually, they all seem to work fine.
I'm only having this problem with the computers that are running 2012 in the office.
The content browser in AutoCAD Architecture 2013 does not seem to be working on a standard users computer. The profile has been rebuilt alongside a repair/reinstall through the control panel.

and typing content browser in the command do not result in anything.
I have loaded a simple lisp in my startup suite which refuses to load.
I have to reload each time.
Other lisp files in my startup suite work fine and I do not have to reload each time.
I installed Corel Video Studio Pro X4 Ultimate on my laptop at the end of last year and up until now it has been working fine. Because I was not happy with the final dvd of hd footage (I don't have a blu ray burner) despite trying all the settings I purchased Pinnacle Studio 15 ultimate because that seems to give a better result when burned to disc. At first Pinnacle was not working in that all of its elements were not accessible so I was editing my footage in Corel and then burning the end result in Pinnacle. Having gone on to the Pinnacle Forums I was advised to change from the default computer desktop theme of Aero to Windows Classic and change the display to smaller - 100%. This solved all the problems with Pinnacle and it is now working properly. However, when I tried to open Corel it came up with the message Corel Video Studio Pro has stopped working, close the programme. I have uninstalled it and reinstalled it and it still refuses to open up. Until changing the desktop theme Pinnacle and Corel did not appear to conflict with each other so I had no reason to think there would be a problem running the two applications.
I have taken a screenshot of the error message but cant seem to paste it to the post.

New purchase of X5 Home & Student.
PC - Dual core with 2Gb RAM 300Gb disc space running MS XP Sp3 (ALL Latest updates installed), latest NVidia drivers installed. I have looked at all previous inputs on this problem and carried out installation with Anti-Virus disabled, FIREWALL disabled, disconnected from network etc etc.
On attempting to start any of the package applications the software fails with an A.R.M. error.
The Array command does not work in the same way like in previous versions and I find it difficult. Also the snap mode does not work propel y when no command is in process and no object is activated.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to plot a simple site plan to PDF through the DWG to PDF.pc3 option.
The scale in my model space is 1-1 and in my viewport in paper space 1-200.
The issue is I plot to PDF, and then the scale is way out. For example an object that should be 10,000mm long in model space appears as 59mm (11,800mm scaled) on the PDF. And of course when I print from the PDF to a printer this scale error carries over.
I have loaded an xref in to my working file. I temporarily unloaded the xref so that it would not be in the way as I was editing my drawing. Even though the xref is unloaded and I can not see it on screen it still highlights and becomes visible as if I picked it with my fence while I am trying to edit other entities to my drawing.

If I pick a door/window tag, I no longer get the specific options to anchor it to a specific door/window. This is typical of all objects now. All that ever pops up is the basic context menu.

The existing tags in the files still read correctly, but if you try to insert a new tag, or a room name or number updates, the only way to get them to read the correct space information is to close AA and restart it. I have not been able to identify any common circumstances when this occurs.
We are on AA 2010. This morning I had barely been in the program an hour when I had to restart just to change a room name.
Just upgraded from 2012 to 2013.....Why did they change the way you stretch a wall with grips???? Now, I cannot align a wall perpendicular to the inside of another wall, only the outside edge/face....Is there a fix or setting I am not aware of?

I created the walls with components and mapped materials to these but I can't seem to get that info in the schedule.

View 6 Replies View RelatedUsing ACA 2011 and Win7 here... and I've noticed that the apparent intersection osnap does not want to work at all while working in a layout if the geometry I'm trying to snap to is also drawn in the layout.
If the geometry is in model space that osnap will work fine both in model space (through the viewport) and from outside the viewport.
We have 5 seats of Autocad LT 2013 and I need to change/upgrade their pc. I need to deactivate the licenses so that i can transfer or activate to the new computer but License Export Confirmation is failed. the computer is connected to the internet. I tried many times but still no luck.

I was making up a bunch of glulams and everything was doing just fine, then all of a sudden the wizard stopped accepting new values for the member depth. No matter what you try to enter, it is rejected and a value of 1'-0" is placed in the field. It will accept new values for both width and lamination depth however. I tried to make a member of another material (steel) just in case it was just the glulams. No luck, they behave the same way, you can't set the beam depth. I also tried restarting ACA, working in a completely new (and clean) file, as well as restarting my computer, it didn't work.
I really don't want to have to go through the repair/reinstall circus if I don't have to.
