AutoCAD 2013 :: Copy Settings And Toolbars From 2013 To 2014?
Dec 20, 2013Happens every year. Upgrade and spend half a day or more trying to get everything back to the way I had it. All I have is a couple small toolbars for commands that are several clicks deep in the ribbons and I want them "right there" all the time.
I thought Autodesk 360 might be a good tool for this. All it did was DOWNLOAD some old settings and destroy one of the toolbars I'd created. They really need an override in there to specify upload, download, overwrite or don't.
I'm trying to migrate (I guess that's the technical term) my settings from 2013 Mechanical to 2014 Mechanical. It's probably too late already, after 360 did its deal, but I really want to get this down so we don't go through it every year anymore.
I maintain that PTC had this part of it down Pro/ENGINEER. You had a config file that was editable plain text.

Jan 9, 2013I made some toolpallets and i want them to share with my collegas. I know that i can export them amd then import manualy, but is it possible to set the files of the toolbars on the server so if i change anything everybody has the same?
I dont want to import and export them everytime i change something.

I want to customize my toolbars to match my old set up but once I've spent ages moving tools to new folders and arranging them how I like it, I close Autocad then open it again and it reverts back to default so all that time editing folders etc is wasted!!

Jun 26, 2013I have 1 user who refuses to learn the ribbon and turns every toolbar known to man on.
It has been suggested that I could remove his ACAD.cui (menuload, then unload). Is this the best way to make sure he cannot use them at all and is forced to learn the ribbon?
Another option I have is to simply click the View tab and uncheck the User Interface panel, but he could just as easily turn it back on as soon as I walk away, or even better he could turn on the Menu Bar from the quick access toolbar and add them through the View pulldown menu or just type in CUI and turn toolbars on that way also.

Sep 24, 2012I finally cleared enough space on my creaky old PC to install 2013 and once again am having trouble with that CUI.
The ribbon is useless to me, partly because it contains nothing relevent (most of the commands I use are legacy) and partly because this creaky PC can't handle it. My usual workspace is set to toolbars (some custom) and menus.
I exported my workspace from 2012 including all the menus and toolbars.
I imported that cuix file into 2013. Everything is there listed as it should be, but when I select the workspace and click apply I have neither toolbars nor menus showing (well I have a tiny toolbar with just new, open and save on it, and another that appears to be related to survey, but none of the ones I want or need.)
What do I have to do to get my menus and toolbars back? they haven't abolished them completely? This PC cannot handle the ribbon and my every request for an upgrade is denied due to politics.

i know that i can do this with cui save every icon in a bmp file and sustitute every icon of 2014 with bmp file of 2007....
but i think it s so boring and long to do...
does it exist any faster mode?
P.S. i tried to export in a cui file all default toolbar of 2007: ii opened it in 2014... but icons are 2014 default!

Oct 16, 2012Every time I open ACA 2013, my toolbars that I have loaded turn off. Well currently only the layers toolbar remains, my custom toolbar and the properties toolbar turn off every time I open ACA with the icon or the exe file itself. If I open a drawing file the toolbars seem to remain. I also just installed the service pack, no change.

Example: Return Air Drive by RAR, Sump by SMP etc. How is possible to select ALL the annotation with the same text and change them for the new ones? Every time that I select by text, either the MultiText or the Multileader objects are selected correctly but I can change only one at the time. Is there anyway to do the changing process in one shot for Text or Multitext with the same contents?

I couldn’t figure out how these three types of scales are correlated with one another. For example, my drawing unit in AutoCAD is meter. And thus if I need to print my drawing with a scale of 1:200 then I set the annotation scale to be 1:2viewport scale to be 1:2plot scale 100:1000
if I need to print my drawing with a scale of 1:20 then I set the annotation scale to be 5:1viewport scale to be 5:1plot scale 100:1000
I couldn’t derive the rule that controls these three types of scales. This is also quite confusing when working with C3D! Sounds not the same logic is applied.

I got a block that contains an attribute (attached) and created on layer zero while the current annotation scale is 1:100. As this annotation scale is changed (say to 1:200 or 1:50) this block moves from its original place to another one (as shown in the attached screenshots).

May 1, 2012Noticed that the Dynamic Blocks in the Annotation Tool Palette are missing? Let me rephrase that, in the Tool palette they show up, but the dwg's that they reference are missing. I have 4 users that are currently testing Civil 3D 2013 and all of them are missing the files.

Sep 30, 2011I am wanting to save all of my menus, toolbars, templates etc. so I can put them on my new computer. I am using autocad LT 2010. I have looked everywhere for the files on my C drive and can't find them anywhere. On other versions I could copy them to a flash drive and then onto another computer. I tried going through the user interface but I couldn't get anything to save. It did make a .cui file but I didn't know where to copy that to on the new computer.

May 30, 2012When I try to menuload a .cuix on a machine that has UAC set to high, The menu group comes in, but the toolbars associated with it do not. I know this sounds like AutoCAD support but it is .net related as the .cuix is loaded through .net. The pull down appears OK.
