AutoCAD 2013 :: Text Coordinates And Description Picture Can't Display
Dec 24, 2013
I amdrawing in autocad version 2010,,and move to version 2013 end then i open my project in version 2013 Text Coordinates & Description picture can't display after use autocad version 2013,,what happen??
I have recently started using FIELDS in our drawings. I must say, they are very powerful.
This is what I would like to accomplish but have not been able to do it on my own.
I want to be able to add text/description to a block, then invoke that text/description with a leader. For instance, if I have a block of a 6x6 post w/ a square, I want to be able to insert the block, do a leader and invoke the custom description "P.T. 6x6 POST W/ CONC. FOOTING"
What is the variable I need to change in order for the text I'm editing to stay at the actual orientation and size.Right now it gets bigger and changes to horizontal.
We meet a strange problem that all the line and cirele are twist as display. copy this file to another machine, or another version of AutoCAD, the problem still exist.
is thare a system value to control display effects?
I can create labels to display stationing in a profile, but is there a way to display the coordinates in the profile instead? When I need to move my pipes I am using the station I get from the profile label and then use grip move. If I could get the N, E, I could just type it in on the Vista table.
1. i received a DWG that has a TIFF image referenced. This 30MB TIFF came in a separate folder (eTransmit) and the path is correct, but i cannot seem to grab the image in model space. the layer that has the xref is not frozen, and i can see the xref in the properties box and unload/load/detach, however i am unable to select or grab it. Was this done intentionally by the author to keep the image intact or is this property of transmitting?
2. The drawing coordinates is appearing in scientific notation and i need them to display all 9 digits. How do i change this?
In my AutoCAD Civil 3D 2013, I created a parcel from 4 lines. I selected the parcel (Property : 1) to get the Properties tab and edited the Style of my parcel: (i) changed Property : 1 to NewLOT : 1 in Name. (ii) added 22.5 mg/Kg Arsenic; 33.6 mg/Kg Lead; 66.9 mg/Kg Mercury to Description. In the drawing area, NewLOT : 1 appears, but, there are no 22.5 mg/Kg Arsenic, 33.6 mg/Kg Lead, 66.9 mg/Kg Mercury shown up below the NewLOT: 1 line - see the attached file. how to bring the chemical data from the Description of my parcel to the drawing area.
In the DWG of my AutoCAD Civil 3D 2013 project, I just created a parcel manually - see the first attched file. It had "Property : 1" on the original DWG, when I created.
I selected this parcel => Properties tab =>Information =>Style:Create/Edit=>Parcel Styleroperty=>Design=>Parcel name template=> Name Template/ Name: <[Parcel Style Name (CP)]>:<[Parcel Number]> was changed to SHC Lot: <[Parcel Number]> to get the new parcel name "SHC Lot : 1" on the DWG successfully - see the second attached file.
I tried to add some chemical results (23.5 mg/kg Arsenic; 66.7 mg/kg Lead; 88.9 mg/kg Mercury) into the parcel. So I selected this parcel => Properties tab => Information => Parcel Area Label Style: Create/Edit =>Parcel Name: => Layout / Label Style Composer/Component name: Parcel Name =>Text: Contents <[Name(CP)]>
I clicked on the "Arrow" sign to bring the <[Description]> into the right-hand-side of Text Component Editor - Contents. I don't know how to finish this step and how to close the "Properties of Parcel" tab on the left-hand-side of the DWG (The selection of Parcel is still on). How to finish the last step and how to close the "Properties of Parcel" tab.
Any way using autoCAD LT 2014 to get CAD to display the elevation heights of survey points without having to type the heights in text bozes next to each individual point. i can insert a field which displays the elevation of the point but doing this again i would have to do every point individually.
Another words is there a way to select all the survey points required and get CAD to display a certain property, which in my case is the elevation height of that survey point, next to it? so it looks like x 23.35 x 23.57 etc..
we are updating fron LDD 2004 to Civil 3D 2012 needles to say it a huge change. I've got my template almost done I'm just having one problem. With LDD any point that came in with a raw descripitoin not within the description key it would be placed in the current layer with point number, descripton and elevation. How do I make that happen with Civil3D do I have to change my default lable settings? When I import points with a raw description not within my description key it places the point on Layer 0 and only shows the node no point number.
I'd like to know the coordinates relative to the last entry when creating lines (splines). When creating splines using the line tool, it would be useful to know the coordinates of my current cursor position relative to the last point in an easy way, so I can draw precisely a long line without having to memorize the coordinates of the last point.
Initially, I thought the 'Keyboard Entry" rollout would show the values that reflect what I'm doing visually, just like the rectangle tool for example, or pretty much any other tool, I don't know why the 'line' tool is different but anyways.
I have a question on Leader Text. Lets say I have a multiple sub-assys in a main assy. When I do the leader text on one of the sub-assys it will take the description from the individual part in the sub-assy. Is there a way I can make it put the assembly description rather than the part description?
I don't simply want to see the coordinates when I hover over a point. I want the coordinates actually showing on the document. Is there a plug-in that can accomplish this easily?
I am extracting the data form my blocks in CSV file with the dataextraction function, but the problem is that my block is located at lets say X,Y(10,10) and in the CSV table shows X,Y(40000,40000).
I'm trying to change the value in the description column through the formattedtext but the final result is not what is supposed to be, this is a part of my code.
Sub HoleTab()Set oDrwDoc = ThisApplication.ActiveDocumentDim oSheet As SheetDim i As IntegerSet oSheet = oDrwDoc.ActiveSheetDim oHoleTables As HoleTablesSet oHoleTables = oSheet.HoleTablesDim oTable As HoleTableDim oTableRow As HoleTableRowDim oTableRows
I'm working on one of our standard layouts for a client. Our typical drawing setup is the base drawing file, surrounded by our Xref'ed border. On said border Xref, we have all the information that does not change between drawings (Revision history, address of job site, etc). The only things that change - and, thus, are not on the xref - are the title of each individual sheet and their number; in the case of these objects, they are located on the drawing file itself in the appropriate position. They are, however, the same font as the text in the Xref - "Standard". Or, at least, they're supposed to be.
The text in the base drawing file seems to be a different version of the text from the Xref - a much blockier, sharper-edged version than the Xref text. My first response was "Okay - I'll just copy/paste the text from the border into my base drawing file, and force the existing text to match the properties of the imported text."
This, however, did not work. The imported text automatically assumed the same form as the existing text. Here's a screenshot from the base drawing, illustrating this (The "Mechanical Plan" also exists on the base drawing, and not the Xref):
I copied the existing text from the base drawing (In this case, the "Mechanical Plan") and pasted it directly into the Xref itself, to see what would happen. Apparently, it wants to stay blocky:
In the latter example, I even tried to force the blocky text to assume the properties of the smooth text via MA (Match properties). I specifically need to make the text in the base drawing conform to the style that the text is assuming in the Xref - which is to say "Smooth."
We are a couple of students just starting at our finale thesis at the university. We got some problems that we can't find a resolution to.
We are going to use Ultramarine MOSES to simulate a ship. We got the drawings as 2d construction lines (.dwg) and 3d (.igs) of the ship, and need all the coordinates, x,y,z of all lines, to the coding in MOSES.
Our problem is to get these coordinates from autocad. We have tried to open the dwg in autocad and use dataextraction to get the coordinates without any sucess. We have also tried the igs without any sucess there as well.
I have a cad-model in a .dwg file (I have attached the file to this post) and I want to export its x,y - coordinates to excell or a text file. Is there some way I can do that from DWG TrueView? I normally just use Autocad Inventor so if there is a way to export the coordinates from there.
I am trying to use the command PASTEORIG and it does not work for me in AutoCAD 2013 or Civil 3D 2013. Is this a known issue with a fix or am I missing something here?
I know for the longest time to paste to original cooridinates you had to select an object and right click and paste by using the menu. I also used to create a keyboard shortcut that let me use Ctrl+Shift+V, but now these workarounds do not work either. It echos the command on the command line, but does nothing, not even a returned error.
This is a pretty significant issue when working in the Civil field.

I just finished a project without using any coordinate system (it shows none), and now i need it to be in ll84 coordinate system. Is there a way to convert it? When i try to do it, the streets go to a random location (in a random longitude and latitude), and even if i move it to the right place it doesnt work, because the scale of the drawing doesnt seem to be right, and i cant manage to fix it.
How do I get the last input to come up when pressing the up arrow key? Say I'm drawing a line & input @10,10. When I press the up arrow, the coordinates come up. How do I get @10,10 to come up? I've changed it before, but I can't remember how & I can't think of what to search for.
I am struggling to create absolute coordinates on my autocad. I've done it before and tried on different computers drawing the same shape and it works but for some reason when i enter the points into autocad on my comp a line is created instead of a triangle.
I've created a Windows form with a Picture box and I wish to display a block drawing in the Picture box, or another Windows control if that is appropriate.
When running the code lines: Dim oImage As System.Drawing.Image = System.Drawing.Image.FromFile(sDrawingName) PictureBox1.Image = oImage
I get an "out of Memory" error report.
This code works quite well if I use a GIF file, rather than a DWG file, so I guess I need another approach.
Web searches have proved useless. I did find a C# project at:
[URL]....., but I'm unable to get it to run or to work out which of the C# code is relevant.
I noticed that relative coordinates are not working in UCS Origin in Autocad 2013.
I used to create an UCS according to a mesh of coordinates (North/East). To do that I first aligned the UCS to the North axis and point the origin to known coordinates (this part is working). Then I created a new UCS using relative coordinates, like "non @ -286200,-7485500".
This relative coordinates entry are not working anymore in this version of Autocad (2013).
