AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Labeling - Arc Using The Angle Rather Than Length Or Radius
Sep 4, 2012Just started a drawing in C3D 2013 using an existing template. If I draw an arc using the "Angle" rather than length or radius, entering the angle as 11.1601, then label the arc, the delta angle is converted to hms or 11.0936 . The template and labeling style are ones we've used for several releases. I've compared the feature settings, units and the curve labeling command and can not find where this is being changed.

Apr 26, 2011I'm trying to plan an access road which must run at least 2.5m away from an existing fenceline. I've put a few parallel road lines in at 3m distance, but at the fence bends I decided to put some circles at the bend points to give me a 3m radius. When I did this I was suprised to find that the circle extends further than my access road. I've dimensioned them both up, CAD is telling me they're both 3m away but they're clearly not at the same distance.

Sep 11, 2013I'd like to view the parameters of my aligments elements near the geometry points. That is, the station and the radius value or spiral parameter (or what I want). I have explored the text & reference text but there is not R or A elements...
How is it possible ? C3D can detect the type of geometry poinr, so it would must to know R, Lenght,. A, etc....
In addition I 'd like to do it using the aligment label set.... sci-fi , isn't it ?
When you have to create plans, the aligments need to show a lot of information. Doing it manually is so boring..... (and in XXI century ...... )

Illustrator :: Circle Radius Of Known Length?
Feb 10, 2014I'm trying to make a circle with the radius of 200*sqrt(3). Is this even possible? Or will illustrator round the equation to the thousandths? If illustrator will just round the equation to the thousandths, I can enter the number myself, but I was hoping it could find the point.

May 9, 2013I have an ellipse with equal radii, I changed it into an arc, but I can't make it fit.
In the attached drawing, there are 3 entities.
1. The original ellipse - red
2. Arc that has the same start angle and end angle as the ellipse - grey
3. Arc that fits the original ellipse - green
Now this is strange, because the ellipse seems to have a different CS for the angles. I had more ellipses in the drawing, but some of them don't have this anomaly.

I want to generate different ellipses and then loft them together?I just want one the starts with the basics and goes all the way to the move advance stuff.

May 3, 2012Our customer send us drawing with ellipse into.With Autocad 2008 I bought a plug-in call SplineConvert that did the job perfectly but not compatible with 2013.
Is there any plugin that could replace that tool ?
Is there any standard ACAD command that could easily do this Job ?
I need a way to make 2 or 3 times per week this converting on all ellipses of large and detail 2D drawings so no time to offset in and out all those .
I try also DXFOUT in R12 but all the spline are being converted into 3d polyline making a huge files that froze my PC.
I also try FLATTEN but did not see how it work , the ellipse stay an ellipse.

Nov 3, 2012I use Cad2013 . During a line command , I can not see the length beside the courser , so I have enter the length using keyboard and it is very time consuming .
I do not remember if I changed any default settings but It used to work properly .
Win 7-32 bit - cad2013 full version - no plugins - No viruses .
AutoCAD 2013 :: Arc Without Radius
Jul 10, 2013Im trying to draw a series of segments using script. I'm trying to build a template in Excel using my coordinates along with the radius. The segments consist of arcs and straight lines. However, the sequential order of the arcs and straight lines vary from object to object.
Is there anyway to use the ARC command and have the radius be "0"?.
I understand, in principle, this is nothing more than a straight line. However, because of the varying placement of the straight lines within the arcs, it is almost impossible for me to achieve what I'm trying to do without constantly modifying my template to meet the object needs.
Are there any options to use the arc command while applying a zero "0" radius?

Jun 13, 2013I have used AutoCad for a few years and I installed 2013 to my laptop recently.I noticed that I couldn't specify how long a line should be. When I select the line tool and specify the base point and type how long it should be i.e. 3' and a red box appears around the dimension box and the line isn't drawn. I tried not specifying a unit of length and it draws the line just fine. But for some reason it wont complete the line if I specify feet or inches.

Aug 13, 2013Currently when I pick a grip at the end of a polygon line and type a length, the polygon goes to that length.
Is there a setting anywhere that changes this behavior to add the typed length to the polygon, hence stretching it to this new length. This would be the same as lengthen when drawing with lines.

Jun 2, 2012I am trying to dimension a line that is not parallel to either they x or y axis. When i try to demsion the line it will only let me dimension the vertical or horizonal component and not the diagonal length. I have included a picture of what I am reffering to.

I'd like to make the line a MINIMUM length of X" (I haven't decided how long yet--but know I'll need a minimum). But then after the user fills in the attribute, I'd like the length of the line to change to the length of the attribute plus a small amount (again, I haven't decided yet how much extra).

Maybe some method of linking the attribute width to length of the line? Essentially, it would work just like turning on the underline setting when typing in mtext editor (or any program with an underline option for that matter), expect that the line could be placed anywhere, and would not have to reside directly below the text.
