View 3 RepliesI have drawn an existing building thats needs a renovation. In the project i need to add 100mm insulation to the external side of the outer walls. Are there any way that i can add theese 100mm to my existing walls but only show the new 100mm in new construction ?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm just finishing up with a command that sets up custom paperspaces for our designers, and once it's done, it deletes the default Layout1 and Layout2 paperspace. The error i'm getting though is the following:
If a drawing contains Layout1 and Layout2, both are deleted as they should be
If a drawing contains Layout1 but not Layout2
or
If a drawing contains Layout2 but not Layout1
I get an error and it crashes. This seems really stupid i know, but i must be doing something wrong here. I'm using if statements to determine if Layout1 exists, then delete it, and if Layout2 exists, then delete it. However, it seems that every time, if one of those layouts are missing, it still assumes it's there, tries to delete it, and errors out because it doesn't exist. I've tried many variations of "if" statements.
My
public class CHDelete
{
// This function will delete Layout1 and Layout2
[Autodesk.AutoCAD.Runtime.CommandMethod("CHDelete")]
public void CHRENAMECOMMAND()
{
[code].......
How do I prevent this from popping up, more specifically, how do I keep it from popping up during a publish?
View 9 Replies View RelatedIs there a method to import Layers from existing DWG file to another? I want to import all layers with their names.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI’m currently working on getting a system for easier plant layout management. Part of which is condensing what started as 195 mostly random layers into about 15 usable layers.
Problem:
I have about 28 more layers that need to get rid of and I can’t delete them because there are lines assigned to them. However, when I hide all the layers I need so that only the unnecessary layers are showing, there’s nothing there.
Side Note:
I know this problem is most likely because there were layers applied to features deep within blocks. I just don’t want to go through the 700+ block to check each layer assigned to each line.
(This file I was given to start with is a mess. Examples: Some of the blocks have the same exact feature that’s buried 7 blocks deep with no features added to justify an extra bock being there. Some of the blocks aren’t even being used in the layout. Name of the block has no coloration with the actual thing it represents. Stuff like that…)
Question:
Is there a way of hunting down these layers in the blocks to delete / change them without checking each individual block? Or is it possibly because the layer i need to get rid of is applied to a block that’s not being used in the layout?
I am trying to create a new document with new layers, but paste in an existing floor plan since it's the shell I need to be using. When I copy clip and insert into new file, all the layers import with it. I transferred everything onto 0 layers and went into my layer manager to try and delete the extra layers and it says i cannot delete o, xref dependent, etc. I want to create my own layers, and then assign the lines in the plan myself onto the new layers.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have 1 user who refuses to learn the ribbon and turns every toolbar known to man on.
It has been suggested that I could remove his ACAD.cui (menuload, then unload). Is this the best way to make sure he cannot use them at all and is forced to learn the ribbon?
Another option I have is to simply click the View tab and uncheck the User Interface panel, but he could just as easily turn it back on as soon as I walk away, or even better he could turn on the Menu Bar from the quick access toolbar and add them through the View pulldown menu or just type in CUI and turn toolbars on that way also.
I'm wondering if there's a way to change/add to the list of available lineweights in the dropdown lists in the layer manager. I want to have a thickness of 0.125", but that isn't available. I found that if I issue the STYLESMANAGER command, I can edit lineweights in existing .ctb/.stb files, but I don't know now to transfer that to be available in an existing drawing. Can I just assign a ctb/stb style to my drawing?

1.- Delete all inside it
2,. Delete all outside of it
Both actions with an option to include points of cut objects.

When going to Output and Export to PDF, you are unable to overwrite an existing PDF, you need first to delete the file.

Anyways I select one too many items so I hit "r" for remove and select the item to remove and bam, I fatal error, civil 3D shuts down, asks if I'd like to save the file and then also submits an error report to the great unknown.

I've created an image with several layers and want to group some of them buthave problems.
As stated in the docs, "You can add existing layers to a layer group byclick-and-dragging them."
And also, "The hand representing the mouse pointer must turn smaller beforereleasing the mouse button.
A thin horizontal line marks where the layer will be laid down"
However, I don't see neither a hand, nor a thin horizontal line.
I see a small scaled preview of a layer, and the mouse cursor turns to acorner, not a hand.
I use GIMP 2.8 on windows 7 64 bit.
I've created an image from several PNGs. I've opened one of those PNGs, saved it as .xcf, and then opened others fromFile->Open as layers...
Then I've created new Layer group by right-clicking on the Layers tab andselecting the respective menu item. Then I've run in the problems, describedabove.
Seems I'm doing something wrong.What?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI keep finding it impossible to edit existing features from models/assy. Even if I change only 1 dim in the sketch. Once I close the sketch. The feature fails. I then try to edit the feature and I will see that the feature direction has changed, but invenotr will not allow me to switch it back. Basicallly there is no editting power at all.
So you only way I have found to complete the job is to delete the feature and then put it back in.
Is this part of the new way of inventor 2013 or is this another time wasting glitch?
Also now when I edit a sketch I must delete all of the dims, then edit and then put all dims back.
Is this also part of the new way or the direction autodesk products are heading?
I've recently (this morning) come into the issue of the old plot printers being saved in CAD files. I've found a number of tutorials online about adding new pages, and setting the default plotter to "none" via DWGTruView, but these are just shy of what I'm looking for.
Is there any way to tell AutoCad 2013 that if the current/default plotter is "None" to set it to a certain printer? I have about a thousand CAD files that need this change made on them, so obviously a more automated approach would be greatly appriciated. Currently the entire set of them has has their Plotters set to "None", and a custom Page Setup configured.
I was rolling out 2013 in one of our offices during the brief time SP1 was available. I went ahead and included SP1 in the office's network deployment (using the append option) and installed on all the machines in that office. Now that SP1 has proven to to be a problem, is there any way to uninstall the SP without having to do a complete uninstall and reinstall at each machine? Tried checking thru control panel (with and without "show updates" turned on), but the SP does not appear in the list to uninstall separately.

I need to twick my lisp routine (attached) to run it without asking.This lisp asks if I want to "Update" or/and "Import," while I have a source dwg. and I want to: (Update and Import).
so how to remove asking and just run the command? I need that routine to assing to a button in OpenDCL project (I think I know how to do that thogh),
I received a drawing today that doesn't allow me to choose existing ".ctb" files. Opening the "Plot style table (pen assignments)" from the Page Setup dialogue box. I can choose "Start from scratch" , use a "CFG" file, or "Use a PCP or PC2" file". I do not have any CFG files. I usually use PCP in my "Plot" dialogue box for the plotter pull-down menu.
How to use my plot style "BRhalf.ctb" when plotting this drawing. Also, a "heads-up" on background information on this drawing's plot style options, vs. the plot style options on many other drawings I have plotted.

View 7 Replies View RelatedNote Layer > Duplicate will not work in this regard, because I want to copy one group of paths/elements from one layer to other existing layers, not to a new layer.
I have not found a command for this, nor have I found any scripts. Note I'm using CS3 but have been thinking about an upgrade.
I'm trying to create an all new existing surface over existing ground. I have a TIN surface of the EG, and I have drawn overlay splines that describe the new surface, but how to go about creating that design surface.
It is a compound surface, open on one end and closed all around on the other, somewhat like a half of a football stadium, but with an irregular upper edge because I am needing to figure out cuts and fills to manipulate the EG into this new surface without costly major terraforming. There is about 40-50' vertical elevation between the "field" and the upper rim with a generally constant 7-10 deg. slope all around. I'm just at a loss to figure out how to approach this project, and am quite new to Civil 3D.

How can you use a template file from your personal files to use it in an already existing .dwg file.
I knwo how to do it if I start the drawing from scratch and I select that template, but I want to put this existing drawing into my personal template file from my documents.
what is the command in AutoCAD 2013 for exporting drawings as DWFx files so that clients who do not have AutoCAD can open or plot a DWFx file using a current version of Internet Explorer or Safari for Apple as an alternative browser.
