View 2 Replies View Relatedhow LUT storage should work with Smoke 2013, but I think I'm seeing a bug.
I'm loading a LUT, able to using it as a monitor LUT and apply it to a clip, but when I reload the project, it loses the LUT path and I have to reload it. I've tried storing it on a network, and locally in the discreet folder. Is this a bug.
I have one of the Promise R6 drive arrays that has failed on me but fortunately it hung in there long enough for me to back up all my data. My questions is once my new array shows up can I copy all the data onto the new drive with all the same folder hierarchy and will it all work fine with smoke again as if nothing changed?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am starting a VB.net project, and I want to get off on the right foot. The code I am working on first will need to examine an existing part's parameters and check that the correct ones exist, and if not, create them and give them an initial value. This is a fail-safe against somebody opening a global parameters part and deleting or renaming a parameter.
My question is: what is the best way to store this master list of parameters in the VB code? Would storing them as an Enumerator in their own Class be the best route? I am pretty new to VB, and I dont want to go way down the wrong road.
Just for clarification, the part that holds the parameters is derived into many other parts, and is linked to many assemblies to provide global parameters and sketch blocks throughout a group of models.

What would be the best way to create a stage storage report with a basin that has multiple depressions and high points in the bottom of the basin?
The stage storage report seems to calculate these features as an addition when it should be subtracting for high points.
Could I do a bounded volume and set the datum to each increment of storage? How accurate is that? If it's accurate, is there a way do generate multiple at a time instead of typing D then setting the datum, then repeating that process over and over?
The only way that seems the most accurate is to create multiple planes at different increments, add those to seperate surfaces, then a volume surface for each one comparing it to the basin. This method takes up a ton of time, especially when dealing with 50+ increments.
I see Civil3D has a Stage-Storage curve for determining volumes for incremental elevation increases for a bounded area (e.g. pond). This works well for water where the top surface is horizontal, however, i need to consider a sloping surface to duplicate a slurry discharged into a lagoon. This has a slope of 1% from the point of discharge and how i can determine the volume/height relationship considering this slope without having to do multiple grading and surface creation. The discharge point gradually moves upstream as the filling occurs to prevent the pipe becoming blocked by the slurry.
I thought about creating a 1% surface and incrementally raising it making it a comparison surface, but the 1% slope is not in a planar form, it is 1% from the discharge point in a radial direction.
I built a containment dike using the grading functions in Autocad Civil 3D. I set up the feature lines at the top toes of the embankment and graded nicely down to the original dtm. I want to use user defined contour to get the interior storage from the original dtm up to a selected elevation within the containment dike. The containment dike forms an enclosed area. I know I could use infill and add a false bottom to the embankment surface (triangulation from bottom toe of embankment across to opposite embankment) but I want to check storage from original ground dtm.
Is there a workaround method to do this without creating infill? I know I need to get down to two surfaces to get a calculation.
I have a small site where i've essentially designed a storage pond. I've cut 3.0m off the original ground at a 2:1 slope and built a berm at a 2:1 fill slope to a designed elevation. I've managed to balance the site to zero. The contour drawing I have shows elevations - which is great - however the client has asked to see the contours showing a Fill or Cut label from the original ground.

I've been looking for a way to store gigabytes of photos external to my laptop, preferably network-attached.
I don't want to bash this product as it does fit some applications well, but my experience loading photos stored on a WD Worldbook is way too slow. About 20 times longer than a photo on a local hard drive.
Maybe the way to go is ESATA attached disk, but before I go there, is anyone getting good results using an affordable network storage device in a home office environment? e.g., something in the $1,500 range or below?
Here's another backup question, has anybody used online storage? Does anybody know of any good companies to use, I'm looking for 400GB for myself, and 400GB for my husband. Is this feasable, does it cost a fortune, and what about security, people having access to my data?
View 7 Replies View Relatedjust installed a shiny new copy of 2013 on my workstation yesterday, and found that it would not let me specify a storage location as is outlined in various tutorials. i have worked out the way around it post installation, but was curious if this was unique to me. I previously had one of the pre-releases running, could this have affected anything? Or is this just one of the things with 2013 that doesn't quite line up with the tutorials that are around at the moment?

How to change the storage location in Lightroom 3.6.?
I use my internal hard drive NTFS of my MacBook Pro as my storage location of Lightroom 3.6. being installed in Snow Leopard now but the data of my photos get too big now. I have two fast and big external hard drives eSATA now which I want to use for my data/photos. I know how to copy the data from one hard drive to another but I don't know how to change the settings in connection with Lightroom easily. I still want to watch all fotos on my MacBook Pro but don't want to save any fotos on my internal harddrive any more. Isn't it possible to have the programm Lightroom on my internal harddrive but the data on two times on two different extermal hard drives? If I look at Lightroom - settings of catalogue - I see that the internal harddrive location is my storage location now but I my two external harddrives don't appear as folders. Why? How to change that so that the external hard drives appear in Lightroom and I can watch all my fotos immediately (sometimes using external hard drive 1 and sometimes using external hard drive 2)?
My external hard drives are in HFS+ but I use the software of Paragon so that there shouldn't be any problem to read and write the data (I use also Final Cut Express so my external hard drives are HFS+ and not NTFS).
I want to impert many data from CDs - should I copy the fotos first to my external hard drive and then import it into Lightroom or is it easier to import the data directly from the CD in Lightroom so that I don't have to name the folders two times? I see that I have to sort the fotos from the CDs in new different folders and an used to do that in Finder of my MacBookPro. In Lightroom I don't want have to click each of hundreds of fotos to be able to put it into the right folders ... But how to import only a part of a CDs quickly into the right (newly created) folders?
When I'm working on a project, I sometimes create bits of artwork that I may or may not want to use in the piece. However, when I move the items off the canvas, they pretty much disappear. Is there any way to store items "off canvas" and have them visible for quick selection?
One option, I guess, is to make the whole Edit preview area the canvas and only crop the item to final size when I'm done, but that seems wonky.

When I go to import a clip into videostudio, I get this message: "no storage to save BB" I click ok, then I get the "load from stream error" message.
Here is my info:Windows XP, videostudio 12, Dell Dimension E520. I'm importing an uncompressed AVI (I've done this loads of times with not problems) and I get the message while it's importing.
Does anybody know of a free image storage website, that allows you to:
1. Link to your photos (so I can show them in the Lightbox forum)
2. See the images as their actual size

I just installed Smoke2013 without a problem! But I accidentally put the media storage in the main OS drive!! I want to use my Raid 0 drive. I unistalled it and delete all the autodesk folders and installed again but the setup program did't ask to use the other drive like the first installation!! It just used the main OS drive as before!!! How can I change the Media drive to another drive? Why when I unistalled Smoke and then re installed It didn't ask to select the media drive?
