When I use my layer control and the pop up opens to changes layer or add layer, it will not give me the "x" to close the screen. I am figuring out to close the screen.
View 2 RepliesI'm using autocad 2013 & the classic workspace instead of ribbon. For some strange reason, if 2 or more drawings are open & I minimize a drawing, it removes the minimize, maximize, close buttons from the right top side of the screen like in the attached picture. To get them back I have to go to the window pulldown & select the drawing from there. I'm using windows 7 pro with a nvidia quadro 1000m card.

Why does the layer control toolbar always state the Xref layers by default. Is there a workaround, or a setting so the layers of the current drawing are displayed by default?

View 1 Replies View RelatedUsing AutoCAD 2013 and TOL command to generate feature control frames. We set our lineweights based on layer assignments.
Problem is that when printing, AutoCAD seems to randomly assign a lineweight to the feature control frames. It can vary from what it's supposed to be (such as lineweight set for the dimension layer) or thicker than even what the object lines are set at. Seems to pick a random linewieght at time of printing for these elements (just the boxes, not the symbols/text itself).
Is there a setting we should be defining somewhere to force it to follow the lineweight of the layer that it has been assigned to? Known bug?
I want to use three points. Now I have to use lines, etc.....
Nobody never thought into the needed of simply use three any points.?
(I'd want to use even 3 simple mouse clicks)
Civil 3D (2013)
I'm here with 2013 SP2 64 bit Build 200 and two screens. Left screen is graphics area, Browser is on the left of right screen. Graphics is ATI Fire Pro V7800 with driver 9.3.3.3000.
In video (zipped MP4) you see a cutout of both screens, think of screens changing at the left of the browser.
Now, in many cases, after doing an operation, the browser is jumping back to the middle of my graphics in the left screen.
I just loaded 2008. With cleanscreen on, the close "X" button is grayed out and inop. Also, the minimize button which is still operable does not fully minimize AutoCAD. How can I get these buttons operable in cleanscreen mode?

View 2 Replies View Relatedi just subscribed to CC as a student, and i cant get photoshop or illustrator to open. the splash screen loads and goes through, and you can see illustrator and photoshop both open, but close a few seconds later with no prompts or errors. i browsed around and saw something about verdana font, but i have it installed.

I accidentally hide that bar at top of screen that lets me hide/close multiple documents... I pressed something, but I don't know what - it's tough to hide PS now (Version CS6)

Typically it won't crash if I have only one drawing file open and then save and close. With more than one file open the system crashes regularly on both computers. Our service pack updates are current.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am missing entities when I try to pick on them.Not window, not crossing. Just trying to pick an entity. I usually select entities first before my command.
Is there a variable that might have changed? I played with PICKBOX & APERTURE but this doesn't change anything when I try to select something. I can have the entity in the box right next to the intersection of the crosshairs and instead of selecting the entity it starts to window.
I have a logitech m705 mouse w/ setpoint software ver 6.32.7 & driver ver 5.33.14 installed.
I am using 2011 Civil 3D and there is a bug I am trying to get a workaround for. If your drawing is not closed with layer 0 being the current layer several different civil 3D entities assume the color of the current layer of xref'd drawings.
From my reading it appears I need a reactor to thaw layer 0 and make it current before close or exit commands. I am not a programmer and have struggled making this work.
It appears that the Layer Filters functionality is broken again with 2013. Unchecking the "Apply layer filter to layer toolbar" disables the function of layer filters in the tool palette.
View 5 Replies View RelatedEverytime AutoCAD 2014 shuts down I get a fatal error with the d3b42920h. It doesn't seem to be the drawing that is erroring because it doesn't ask for a recovery file to be saved, but the program it'self.
When SDI is set to 1 everytime you open a new drawing the error occurs.
We do have a company wide network deployment with customised settings for over 40 machines and it only happens on certain machines. I don't want to restore default settings as and re-load our company settings on every machine this happens.
I create a script file to draw 2 lines:
Line 0,1 5.0,1
Line 0,1.025 5.0,1.025
But I only got 1 line. The second line is missing. When I use command to create them, everything is fine. Also if I change to
Line 0,1 5.0,1
Line 0,5 5.0,5
Two lines show up.
I am working with an action macro to be able to use the EXPORT PDF option (save into current folder as DWG with no user input) / save the current drawing / and close.
At present i am able to get the macro to export the pdf and then (user input to directory to save and to overwrite the previous file) then save the file but cannot close the drawing.
I had Inventor 2013 and it worked well for a long time, I didn't use it for a while, then yesterday I tried to use it again and it wouldn't work. It starts up fine, and gets to the menu where you can choose from recent files, new files, tutorials, etc. After I select anything to open, whether its a new or old file, the program will load open the file then immediately stop working. No error message is displayed besides Windows telling me "this program has stopped working". I updated to 2014 yesterday, and the exact same problem persists.

But when my profile is set on Civil 3d, I can do the same in the layer drop down. Is there a way to set it like autocad classic?

It seems like this particular drawing has issues not seen elsewhere.(besides the fact it was badly drawn) After some time playing with all the settings. We turned on the zero layer and then all the nodes were available as usual.
i've been using AutoCad for 20 years and never seen this. Is this some kind of new feature?Can you control the snaps with a layer? WHY?

The layer control dropdown in the layer toolbar is just showing the state of the selected object or layer 0 if nothing is selected. Same for the ribbon combo. But it's working in the Quick properties dialog.
View 5 Replies View RelatedOut of the blue, my Layer Control will not work. When I click on the icon, the top two lines on the screen go gray and the whole thing locks up. The layer palette does not appear. If I try to choose anything on the screen, it beeps. It unlocks if I hit escape. If I type in "layer" at the command line, the same thing happens. At this point, I am unable to change lineweights & colors within my layers settings.
