Jun 14, 2012Is it possible to make a bench right before the daylight line meets the top surface (Original Ground)?
The Road prism is a tylical shape that has a u-shaped ditch on one side. The daylight line from the outside edge of the ditch follows a series of comlicated benches at set elevations and then terminates at OG with no trouble but I'm trying to get an additional bench to be generated before OG (see attached + yellow lines).
how to add this extera bench?

Jul 25, 2012I am using a feature line to create a grading for a residential house pad. The county grading ordinance calls for a 6' drainage terrace (bench) when slopes exceed 40' in vertical height. I know that for corridor grading you can specify a slope bench with a subassembly but that is not what I am doing here.
I'd like a solution where the grading remains dynamic because I know that benching will cause slopes to cross property lines. I also want to keep the dynamic nature to be able to make adjustments to balance the earthwork.

Dec 23, 2011I'm trying to create an adaptive family (a concrete bleacher/bench) that mitres to its adjoining instances when placed in a project (see attached images).
The family is not acting as I intend it to when loaded into the project (bottom right image). I've created six adaptive points which are intended to correspond to refeence points in the project.
I think the problem has to do with the faces of the extrusion, they don't seem to be able to align to an angled reference plane. How the extrusion can expand/contract in a linear fashion and have ends that mitre adaptively?
AutoCAD 2013 :: Can't Make Ribbon Tab Appear
Oct 16, 2012when I tried downloading and installing this INCREMENT app from the Exchange Store. First, I can't get this to run at all. If I go into the CUI settings dialogue, I don't see this plug-in listed anywhere where it should appear. It had occurred to me that maybe the only way this app works is from the plug-in tab and not from the command line, but I'm not sure that makes any sense, either seems it should work either way, if I'm interpreting the documentation correctly. But, I cannot make my ribbon tab appear to check out my probably mistaken theory (see above). Navigating around the CUI dialogue and checking the settings for my tab, I see that it is set to "show" and there is every indication that it should appear, but there seems to be something buggy or suspicious going on with the
Control-0 (clean screen) toggle and/or the Control-9 (command line) toggle as well?I don't see how either of these would have any affect on the visibility of my tab, if they were toggled to the correct setting. I am the only person using this workstation so it's not like there is a profile issue at work here.

Jan 2, 2014I am seeking to simplify some of our drawings and want to make some forms or tables that has a click check or radio button. Is this possible in any way using Autocad and/or using the Visual Basic and Visual LISP add ons?
If it is possible what I seek is something similar to what is shown in the attached picture. Ideally I would be able to group the boxes together and set up something so it will only allow one of them to be checked, same thing for Mixed Occupancy, Construction Types, etc. If that is not possible via any means at a minimum I would like to be able to just click on the box to check or uncheck it.
If there is some way to make it as a block with attributes I can handle that as well.

Oct 14, 2013If I modify a 3D solid and it is left with two seperate pieces it is still one solid piece, even though there are two parts. My question is: What if only need one of those two sides? If I explode the object and delete the one side I cannot change the remaining object into a 3D solid. It remains as surface object.
How can make an object into a 3D solid after exploding it? I belive there is a simple command like union or some other but I can't remember.

Nov 27, 2012How is it possible to have a part in an assembly and then remove it when it is not required?
I have a Skeletal assembly of a cabinet with hinges on the left hand side when facing the front. When a customer requires the hinges to be on the right hand side, I need to make the lock keep disappear from the Right hand side panel sub-assembly and make it appear in the Left hand panel sub-assembly.
At the moment, I have the lock keep, the BOM structure in the file is Normal, this is overidden in the assembly to being Reference for the first instance, the lock keep is fully constrained in both sub assemblies and both are in an array of only 1. I increase the value of the array from 1 to 2 and by a distance of zero(0), the newly added part would have a BOM structure of Normal, consequently it would then appear on the BOM. This method was something I last used when using IV2009, it was a method I used to control both visibility of parts in assembly drawings and on BOMs.
I'm now using 2013 and arraying a part with a overidden BOM structure of Reference makes the new part a reference part aswell even though the file itself is BOM structure of Normal.

I can't fine such a command. I have to select a text, see what style shows up in the box at top, go to the text style box, find the style and make it current. It seems like unneeded steps.
