I have cad drawings but when I select to change a desk in the floor space the whole floor highlights - what can I do to stop that and select only what i want to delete add

Now today any drawing that opens shows the plan view as last saved but then after loading takes the drawing and shifts it into a 3d view similar to a crossection. Is there a setting somewhere that has been changed? I noticed after a windows 7 update was preformed.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have this heavy issue, i can't send to back a line, an object or a hatch under other lines. In 2012 i used this feature a lot but in 2013 it's not working very much, maybe 1 time out of 10 and i absolutely can't say why.
HPDRAWORDER = 1 seems to work with a new hatch.. but i can't redraw everything.
Let's say i put an entire floor plan into block then draw over it. (I don't want to start a Xref discussion please) i can't send the entire bloc to the back.I used to do that with 2012, 2008, 2007.. but it's 2013 it's not working, is there a way to correct that?
I recently added 2 monitors to my set up to bring my total to 3. I am trying to figure out the best way to work on one drawing, with 2 differant veiws on each of the 2 main screens.
I would like my main screen to have the plan view and the second monitor to have an isometric veiw (or whatever I need at the time) of the same drawing. Is there a way to have the same drawing opened up in another window, in one session of Autocad 2013. One on the main screen and one on the secondary.
As many of us seam to do the option to save by default to an older version of AutoCAD or universal DXF format is selected, my problem is however when you save an existing drawing a prompt appears asking if 'Drawing*.dxf last saved in AutoCAD 2004 format. Save in AutoCAD 2013 Drawing format?' this has annoyed me for years!
I have set it as default DXF 2014 for a good reason I don’t want a prompt asking me if I want to then save it as 2013 or I would have set it like that on my default setting, gets on your nerves when you are doing 100's of files.

- i restart my AutoCAD many times.
- nothing appear in plug-in tab.
In one of my application I want to open a drawing and make a new one.That doesnt work. So I copy following code from the

In the model space, i have 1 sheet and have 3 different drawing in it( lets say , i have a circle, a polygon, and a rectangle).
How can i put the circle on Layout1 , the polygon on Layout2 and the rectangle on Layout3.

it shows up by default with all it's real lines, instead of having to select the options all the time...
I was giving an assembly with a lot of piping in it, but the piping wasn't done using the Tube & Pipe. I need to make a drawing of the piping with a BOM. I made an ISO view and turn off the visibility of the parts I didn't need.
My question is if there is way for the BOM to only show the visible parts in my drawings. I know in iAssemblies I can exclude the parts I don't need, but that would take awhile considering there are over a hundred parts in my assembly. I really don't want to redo the piping mainly because of my inexperience with Tube & Pipe.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI would like to make a drawing for the cover of the control box for my new CNC. The cover will be 4”x 16” x 1/8” thick Aluminum and will have holes for 8 switches, with letters for the function of each switch, plus 4 mounting holes 1/8” diameter in the corners.
My problem is how to establish the center lines for the switches and the mounting holes. So I draw a rectangle 4”x 16” and then if I want my switches to be 1” above the bottom edge of the cover how do I establish a center line to have all switches lined up?
The same for the mounting holes in the 4 corners. How do I establish the center lines if I want to have each hole 1/2" away from each corner?
How to write the letters for each switch? I was thinking to draw a rectangle above each switch and center the description inside each rectangle. Is this the best way?

I've been given a set of drawings from a client to design a system on. What I want to do is turn the drawing they have given me into one layer so that I can turn it on and off to just see my system. Is this possible? If so how?
The drawing has about 300 layers currently and a lot of blocks as well.

My drawings appear small in paper space than they do in model space. How do i get them to fill the paper space?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have this drawing that I just finished. There were a few dotted lines that were showing up correctly in model space. Then, when I switched over to paper space all of those lines were solid. I messed around with the option LTSCALE and set it to 0.01. This made the lines show up correctly in paper space, but now they are all messed up in model space. Is there an option to make it so they show up exactly the same in both model and paper space?

I was wondering if there was a way to make it open a drawing you might be working on. Then you always wouldn't have to click so many times to open it and find the folder it was in and so on. You start AutoCAD and there it is when AutoCAD starts. You can get right to work and not have to look for it.

View 6 Replies View Relatedwhen I tried downloading and installing this INCREMENT app from the Exchange Store. First, I can't get this to run at all. If I go into the CUI settings dialogue, I don't see this plug-in listed anywhere where it should appear. It had occurred to me that maybe the only way this app works is from the plug-in tab and not from the command line, but I'm not sure that makes any sense, either seems it should work either way, if I'm interpreting the documentation correctly. But, I cannot make my ribbon tab appear to check out my probably mistaken theory (see above). Navigating around the CUI dialogue and checking the settings for my tab, I see that it is set to "show" and there is every indication that it should appear, but there seems to be something buggy or suspicious going on with the
Control-0 (clean screen) toggle and/or the Control-9 (command line) toggle as well?I don't see how either of these would have any affect on the visibility of my tab, if they were toggled to the correct setting. I am the only person using this workstation so it's not like there is a profile issue at work here.
I want to be able to plot a drawing as a PDF (to send to customers, vendors, etc.) and not have the PDF able to be converted back to a DWG (as so many programs out there are able to do).
