Does Inventor give the ability to place default Factory Assets on a 2D factory layout? I know the Factory Design Suite has the ability to do this, but I don't need the Suite as I already own AutoCAD. All I need to be able to do is visualize a 3D factory layout such as in the following video for the Factory Design Suite:[URL].......
What software will accomplish this? And again, I wouldn't need the Suite, because I don't need any other feature than to insert 3D factory assets onto a 2D layout.
Is there any way to import user defined factory assets within Inventor Factor Design? It would be nice to be able to import the assets created on my desktop directly to my user asset library on my laptop whithout having to go through the process of checking out all of the parts/assemblies and republishing them as user assets onto my laptop. I am the only on in the office currently using Factory Design, but the rest of the office will transition to Factory Design once we implement 2013. It would be nice if I had this figured out before that transition happens so the rest of the employees don't have to go through the process of republishing user assets to their own libraries.
Where the properties browser settings are located so that I can turn the browser on for modifying parameter keys in factory layout? I actually had turned this browser on before, but now I cannot remember where they were. Please see the attachment for further info.
I've been using autocad for quiet a few years, I can do most of what i want but I might be missing some basic knowledge. I've been creating some template for drawing which include different layout A4, A3, landscape and portrait.
If I use plot/print using cutepdf or adobepdf as a printer the results are good (print the same than the preview). But when I use publish using dwg to pdf then my layout are shifted to the right outside of the printing boundary.
We seem to be unable to overwrite a PDF that we created with AutoCAD when PDFing anew with AutoCAD. In other words, I "Plot" a file in AutoCAD and PDF it as "New File A". When I later realize I made a drafting mistake and want to overwrite it, when I "Plot" it says the file is in use or write protected or something of that nature so I have to PDF it as "New File B" and then manually delete "New File A" and then rename "New File B". I might add I do not have to close AutoCAD to do this.
I have no problems publishing to one file from multiple tabs, or plotting to multiple single files named after each tab. I want to batch plot to a single file with bookmarks named after each tab in my AutoCad file. I would think that it would name each bookmark "Filename-TabName" as it goes down the batch plotting (publishing) list. Right now, I print to individual files and combine. This creates bookmarks for each filename like I want, but I have to name my tabs in order, or re-order everything each time which is time consuming.
Is there a setting to create bookmarks as you print to a single file that are named after each tab? This would be cool and very useful. I cannot imagine that I am the only one who wants this.
I've started having a problem with the Publish command when publishing multiple drawings to PDF.
When I plot a drawing using the plot command, I don't have a problem.
When I publish one drawing using the Publish command it is also fine.
It is only when I try to publish multiple files that the problem occurs- the PDFs are produced, but the it is as if the drawing contents (paper space) has been shifted up by 10mm or so, cutting off the top of the drawing, and creating a larger margin at the bottom of the drawing. I use exactly the same page setup as for the single drawing plot.
There seems to be no setting that would change this, and the fact that publishing a single drawing works suggests that there is some kind of bug. At the moment i have to plot every drawing individually (or get my colleague to do it- it works fine on his machine, same page setup file!)
I'm using AutoCAD 2013 and I get a fatal error when it pulls up a print preview. If I have "Publish in Backgound" selected it proceeds to print. The error only appears to exisit when it pulling up the print preview. I have installed sp 1.1. I've repaired and reinstalled also. My AutoCAD 2012 is publishing fine.
I have been ateempting to use the DWG to PDF.pc3 to batch convert a bunch of drawings to PDF. Everything appears to work well but I keep getting layers in my PDF's which I do not want as the slow down printing. I have turned off "include layer information" in the pc3 custom settings and I have also set "Don't include" in the publish options.
I am obvisouly missing something somewhere as I continue to get PDF's with layers.
URL....When experimenting I found out that the materials are displayed in the browser but don´t appear any more when a parameter is changed. The browser still displays them right but I need to change them and apply them to get Inventor to display them again. I´ve attached two screenshots to show you the material is still assigned.
The assets have been authored with a german Inventor version and opened in a English language pack version. Changing the target language and replacing the English library had no effect at all.
I will be forced to open EVERY Asset and change ALL the materials with German names to their English counterpart. Including colour styles I apply by ilogic.
I have 10 layouts then i will set each layout PSLTSCALE value to 0 but when i return to the layout that i already set, the PSLTscale value become 1 again.
I have the text style set to match text orientation to layout and it works, but when I use the same text style in mulitleader the text doesn't rotate with the layout 2013 Civil 3D
I need to create a section of a 3d model. Unfortuntaly the layout tab I need is missing. Normally if somthing is missing I type 'CUI' and then click Ribbon>Tabs> select the one I want and drag it to 'Workspaces Contents' - 'Ribbon Tabs'
The ribbon tab for layout is missing from the cui. See attached images.
why my text is vertically oriented when I'm doing a preview of my layout? Plus, I'd like to know why when I set greyscales on my CTB only hatches and not my lines are displaying in black & white? (on my second layout)
I have started to creates some sketch blocks. The only issue i have is when i go and place them in a drawing they get placed way outside the layout so i have to drag them into the layout sheet. How do i get the sketch block to be placed into the layout..
I have just downloaded the 3 year trial of AutoCAD for students. I have managed to create a floor plan but struggling to amend the layout. First of all, I would like the page setup to be A3 but that is not an option on my Page Setup Manager as it will only connect to my printer size.
I am also trying to add a Title Block but again do not know what I am doing, or where to download template ones for free?
I am attempting to use the new Base View feature called Offset Section.
The 3D, solid, model has been created. I click on the Layout tab and there are only to panels showing: Layout and Layout Viewports. Four seem to have gone missing: Create View, Modify View, Update and Styles & Standards.
I have not made any changes to the CUI nor have I migrated settings from 2012.
Can I insert a field in the title block in the layouts that will show the date of the last change made to the part of the model that is shown in the layout view.
I use multiple layouts to produce build drawings and I use the name of the layout tab to identify the sheet on the shop floor.
I currently use a field in the titleblock that calls the system variable ctab, the problem is that whenever you update the fields, they all change to the name of the current tab, not the name of their own tab (by default, when you open the drawing, they all say Model).
I resort to building all of the layouts and converting that field to text prior to printing.
Is there a way to change the layout tab name to match an attribute in the drawing? For example, I have a block in my title block named REV and an attribute in that black named RevNum, I want my users to be able to edit that block and the layout tab automatically change to match, i.e. if they modify the RevNum attribute to be A i want the layout tab name to change to A. I want this to be transparent to my users normal workflow.
I just recently started using AutoCAD again after using Inventor for several months, and I'm having a very difficult time with annotations. I'd like to annotate the proper way, and I believe that's from withing layout space. I have several small weld details that simply need to be laid out on this drawing. They're all drawn to 1:1 scale, and I'd like to use Viewports to scale them up or down as appropriate.
How to properly annotate dimensions, text, and weld details such that they will all appear of uniform size among all details, but will be associative with respect to the geometry of each detail? This is quite simple in Inventor simply because of how it's designed to work, but AutoCAD works very differently and I'm very unfamiliar with how to work with text styles and dimstyles and weld-symbol styles in this manner. I can't get my annotation styles to work right.
My instructor had showed me how to add my name to my projects assignments and I have forgotten how to ad my name and project assignment name to my layout projects.
