AutoCAD 2013 :: DGN Convert To DWG - Diameter Symbols Turned To Question Marks
Dec 6, 2012
After converting and .dgn file to autocad, the diameter symbols have turned to question marks, and some of the fractional inches turned to f. The text styles are listed as dgn003.shx which is missing? What is the best approach to fix this problem?
We are using Autocad 2012 & some of our users can not put Degree, Diameter, Plus/Minus Symbols in their drawings.%%P, %%D, %%C does not work in single line or M-Text. The symbols work In dimensions.
I'm having trouble with getting quotation marks to display correctly, they look like 2 stacked >> symbols. They change slightly depending on what font I'm using, but they all ride at the base of the text. I cannot acheive normal looking curly or straight quotes at all.
I have tried switching smart quotes on and off in the preferences, restarting, etc. I've noticed this problem in the past, but I thought it was the font I was using. The same thing happens with Times New Roman. I'm running an up to date version of PSextended CS5, 64bit on win 7 64.
I am measuring the diameter of a circle in one drawing and it gives a distance that is far larger than similar types of circles in other drawings. Well I type UNIT in the command prompt and it shows inches. I convert it to feet and remeasure the diameter and it still gives me the same large number! What do I need to change? How many of you use unitless for measuring versus feet or inches?
I read up on the Help files and it said that Architectural and Engineering scales are set to feet and inches.
I am also confused how to use the conversion tool on the QuickCalc in AutoCAD. The "Convert From" and "Convert To" are set to meters. I am not sure WHAT the default unit of measurement is to begin with.
I've had this issue with layers turning off randomly in the previous years; it has been fixed at some point when a service pack was installed. It is back now in Autocad 2013 and SP1 does not work.
Usually it is happening after the unisolate command. I assume that it is related with the unisolate function that does not work for all layers.
I am trying to use Autodesk Inventor 2013 with UAC turned on.
Which is fine according to

Inventor starts and works fine until we want to use Inventor Studio to render anything. The option is greyed out, if i remove the add-on and re-add it, the options becomes available but all of the options within Inventor studio are greyed out, so it's useless to me.
This is someone else's preview but it applies to this scenario.

I can verify that under the same profile with UAC turned off it all works.
I need to leave UAC on and I need to be able to render using Inventor Studio.
We have been having an issue with this for a long time in hopes of it being fixed in any new release. If I click Diameter and pull it to the OD of hte circle it shows as in the picture which is what we want. If I pull it to the ID it pulls straight from that point and the dimension is not level.
The only way we can fix it is click on it, go to properties, scroll down to text, and in the text rotation box, type 90.1 and hit enter.
Working in an assembly with sub-assemblies. I am trying to move a part not much more than the diameter or a hair, but this is causing lots of problems.
I am forced into editting an assy constraint. So I go thru the menu and except the edit.
Constraint box opens / and iventor says "ready" but it will not let me select and surfaces to define the mating.
My question is What is it the constraint is ready for?
I'm sure this has been addressed in these hollowed posts but a search didn't turn it up. I have a dimstyle with primary units format set to "Fractional" and would like the inch (") marks to come in. I know i can add the inch mark as the suffix, but is there a better way? Archetectural and Engineering formats both include the inch marks and this makes sense to me. But if "fractional" format is not inches, then what would it be?
I just installed AutoCad architecture 2013 onto Window 7, and lots of the ribbon icons are coming in as questins marks. I attached a picture of the ribbon.
Did 2013 change the way Direct Distance Entry is handled?
Say I want to start a line a distance of 3 from another line using Otrack and a running endpoint snap. Before, I could just hover over the existing line's endpoint, move the cursor in the right direction, and enter 3 on the keyboard. Now in 2013, I need to have Dynamic Input (F12) turned on to get this behavior. 2012 was not this way.
I'm trying to create a dynamic block that uses a parameter and an attribute definition to determine the diameter of a circle in that block. I plan to export GIS points with diameter in the attribute table into a CAD file with the block definition. I'm having trouble figuring out how to set up the parameters to read to attribute definition and adjust the circle diameter. Using AutoCAD 2013
I have a page of clipart symbols. Illustrator recognizes that they're all separate... but how can I convert them in a batch process to individual symbols?
I used object snap tracking for years.Since I upgraded to AutoCad 2014 why does object snap tracking only work with Dynamic input turned on?
Personally I do not like to work with Dynamic imput on, when I use object snap tracking with out DI turned on it doen't work right. Past versions worked fine. What do I do to get this back?
I created an interactive form in InDesign CC and do not like the check marks as they are not visible enough. Can I globally change the check marks to "X" marks?
When working in a drawing, I don't see a selection for weld symbols in Annotate - Symbols. Are they not available in LT? Is there something I need to do to activate them?
im working whit and have purchased a computer to plate punch that works with files in nc1 extension, but only works with extensions Autocad dxf and dwg, so we are looking for if Autodesk has a module to convert dxf or dwg extensions to nc1.
I've found one that converts a DXF NC1 but I found one that converts DXF to NC1.
I have been using autocad quite frequently lately and for some reason today I cannot convert my DWG files into PDF, although I have done the many times before. I have even tried opening old drawings to convert them to PDF and nothing will export.
We are providing files to a fabricator for their use. They have requested the drawing file, it is a 3D solid model AutoCAD 2013 file, be provided in .wcs format. I assume I need a piece of software to make the conversion but have not found one.
