For some reason unbeknownst to me, my pickbox (and my crosshair aperture) has changed to a rectangle instead of the usual square. My resolution and screen size is all fine, and I've not changed anything in my settings.
This is a very old project and even with more knowledge in 3D, still unable to do it. I have a stool with incline legs using the LOFT command (Extrude with Path can also do it). Now I need to add a tranverse section. I wanted to have the tranverse section same dimension as the leg.
Given the inclination of the leg, it is impossible and futile to align ucs using 3 points or face because there is no 90 deg between the two edges. Further more given there is no extrude to face as in inventor, it is sound difficult to extrude between the "/" form and the "" form of the two legs.
D problem? On geometry, is there a rule to adapt here with respect to section dimension?
I'm working on this shape: it has square base, goes to the top round , and round top is shiffted off center.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a template that I have created, in it I have a rule that changes the stock number and description based on which sheet metal rule is selected. The weird thing is it works correctly if the first sketch is a rectangle. If you sketch a circular shape and make that the face it will not work. It blanks out the values for the stock number and description.
I'm running Inventor 2014 update 2.

I'm new to Xara Photo & Graphic Designer 6 and to graphics in general.
In layman's terms I would like to know how this programme can auto detect a foreground image (any non-square/non-rectangular image), select it and then delete everything else around it.
Whatever is deleted around it needs to be transparent, not white, so that I can copy and paste the sole foreground image into Powerpoint so that the image doesn't end up with a square white background around it (especially when my Powerpoint template has a non white background).
I'm not working with finnicky images or detailed photos. They're mostly two colour stock images like black silhouettes of people against white backgrounds, so I thought that kind of image would be relatively easy to 'smart select' and separate from the contrasting background colour.
Can this Xara programme do this for me? If not, is there any other basic and cost effective programmes that can do this for me? It's literally the only editing function I need in a graphics programme.
I have 6 rectangular photos and I'd like to put each of them on 6 square white backgrounds and then save the resulting images (it's for posting on Instagram - it's crazy that they don't allow you to post rectangles, but there you go). What would the most time-efficient way of doing this be?

I have attached a example where i try to constraint the tube.ipt using 3D geometry lines of the part Layout_3d_sketch.ipt in the assembly teste.iam, but i'm unable to select any lines from that file.
Why can't i use this 3D sketch lines in a skeleton base part?
My rectangular marquee is not selecting all polygons within the rectangular selection.
View 5 Replies View RelatedIf I am constantly making frames in photoshop for use in the video world (ie. They will be on TV) the pixels need to be rectangular (or 4x3) in aspect and not square.
I know in programs like After Effects and Combustion you can set when saving an image whether or not it is square or rectangular pixels.
How do I do this in Photoshop if it can be done?
Im trying to merge two shapes....a square and a circle. (see attached image)
Ive tried using Boolean options and the Attach command but although it links them it doesnt remove the interior geometry. Im sure this is the easiest question ever posted on this forum but I just cant figure it out.
Im trying to get one single shape that I can extrude.
Can the rectangular box around the number tag be edited or removed all together?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am using 2013 and have a few 3D objects in the modeling space that I am using view base to put different views of each into the paper space. When I do this and export to PDF, I get an extra green line from the paper space. I have deleted and replaced the view and have tried different views with varying sucess.
Some pieces simply need a different view, however I have one that will not go away. The different view does really solve the problem either because I need the view with the problem. I have attached a picture of the issue, but it is just a chunk to protect information that I cannot share. The gray in the drawing is the part, the green line should not be there. The green line only shows up on the PDF, not in modeling space or paper space.
I've just recently been having a problem with the base view command. While trying to create the base view from model space all I get is the move command. Also from inventor the command changes to fillet. I've uninstalled AutoCad 2013 completly then reinstalled but continue to have the same problem.

I would like to create a base view, and still keep the object layer colors. Is there a work around for this? Or should I just do an elevation and work through VP's?

View 4 Replies View RelatedAt my company, we do a large amount of work with sheet metal parts and assemblies. On our drawings, we like to do "detail" views of the flat patterns of each part of the assembly. Basically, how we do it now is insert a base view of the assembly and the BOM onto the first sheet and then on separate sheets, we place base views of the flat patterns for each of the components that will be cut on our cnc plasma table. We use the item number to denote which part it is in the assembly. Is there any way to pull the item number from the assembly BOM and use it as a parameter that can be inserted into the view label? Right now, it's a nightmare if the assembly BOM is modified because we have to go back in to each view label and manually change the item number.

pick new location point(s),...right click to close the command. But sometimes it decides to do this: Using the same Copy(multiple) command button with the following sequence (not working correctly):
Copy command, window objects to copy, right click to close selection, pick base point..At this point the copy comand closes out. It has assumed a single copy, 0,0,0 base point
& tossed the copied objects out in model space accordingly. But as stated it only does this periodically.
I created multiple base views and projected views on drawing (autocad 2014). suddenly when I create base view it doesn't show anything, jumps to 0,0,0 coordinates (it is fixed can't be changed), scale can't be changed. It shows it is drawing view in properties, however when I want to edit (click edit then select the view , it won't recognize it is view). I created many views without problem, now all base views jumps to 0,0,0 coordinates....

I used to be able to obtain the sqare footage of an area with the AREA command. A list would generate about seven or eight lines, listing the square footage, inches, perimeter etc.
Now all i see is one line; the area/perimeter (see attachment). Did i change a setting somewhere to obtain this simplify version of the AREA cmd? Something is not right...
I tried the MASSPROP and MEASURE GEOM, those will not show the square footage. This used to be so easy, what am i missing...
I am trying to find a way to that I can very quickly measure the remaining square footage on a floor plan and/or equipment cabinet on a regular base. I have been working with AutoCAD for over 10 years so I am well aware of the typical command such as Distance, Measure & Area. I am wondering if with the latest AutoCAD 2013 there is a new command to do this faster.
