I am running ACAD Mech 2012. Our LA office has ACAD LT. Every single letter, line, symbol, etc is made up of a bunch of different pieces. I found that the word SPARE was made up of 46 pieces! I have attached a portion of the drawing. I have never seen anything like this and I can't even imagine how this could be made or changed into this.
View 2 RepliesI'm using Adobe Illustrator CS5.1 in Windows 7. I'm trying to type-set a file and some of the lines of text aren't regularly editable. When selecting a letter it's chopped up in to a bunch of smaller images, thus rendering it impossible to change the font. The customer wants the title on their business card to be un-bolded and I am unable to edit the title. How can I release the type back to an editable form?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am trying to type in notes or commands into AutoCAD and sometimes the wrong symbols appear.
Example:
I'm trying to type in 3'-6" and instead this show up 3è-6È. If this starts to happen, it will keep happening until I log out of my computer and log back in.
I have already checked my keyboard settings and it is set in English (Canada). This only happens in AutoCAD. Microsoft Office and all my other programs don't have this issue.
I'm using ACAD 2012 3D. I want to color in some letters and symbols, but whenever I do they get muffled away by the material I selected for my object.

As you can see the black arrow is partially yellow, which I do not want. The problem doesn't only happen after rendering, but in my model space as well. I tried all kind of things to get it all black. Hatch, make a solid out of it, different layer, draworder, apply other materials, but nothing seems to work. What goes for the arrow goes for all the words in gray/white too.
In case you wonder, I've made an effect pedal for guitar.
In AutoCad 2000 there was a design center that showed my symbols on the CD. Now I have 2010 and can't acess my symbols on the CD. I can't run the installl on the CD because I don't have admin rights.

View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen using TEXT or DTEXT I can add centerline, 1/4, or 1/2 symbols while using the ROMANS font.
It would make sense to me that when I am using MTEXT, this should apply. However when I try to insert the symbols this is what happens: My text style stays the same, but the font gets changed to ISOCPEUR and symbols have a bold type appearance.
When working in a drawing, I don't see a selection for weld symbols in Annotate - Symbols. Are they not available in LT? Is there something I need to do to activate them?

Typically I create a custom menu that reflects each clients colors, symbols, layering ect. But now I have just upgraded to Acad 2012 and don't know how to create a custom menu in 2012 for each client. Is it even possible? What I have found is the customize button but when I modify a command for a specific client it makes the same change for all clients, as all that I was doing was modifying a workspace, and only modifying the command. What I have done in the past is to take the Acad.mns and copy it and rename it client-name-Acad.mns and make the necessary changes that the clients standards required. Can I still do something like that?

After I pasted I received some error message which I didn't understand. I think it said something about a "Language" problem, (Needless to say I clicked the nice big "OK" button without any thought). Now, every time I open CAD there are these square symbols where there should be text

I've been using AuroCAD long time ago back in school, and then I moved out to bentlye's microstation after I started working for Jacobs Eng. and now I have to get back to AutoCAD again. My question is how to get the revcloud and text and the revision diamond… and everything to be match with the drawing's size? coz we have stranded in microstation, that’s give you the right size for everything according to the sheet scale.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI was looking to change the fonts in a drawing for the Dimensions and Symbols that might have been inserted in the Dimension text entries.
This can be done manually bu editing the dimentions text after placemement, but I was ooking to set this as a default.. I cannot see where exactly this is controlled in the Styles Manager - I am only able to change the Dimension text font but the diameter symbol font is always on AIGDT.
I was therefore looking for an iLogicvb code that could do the trick, but I am not able to even change the dimension fonts... The code runs with no errors but nothing gets updated in the drawing...

- Make sure type preference is on default.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI frequently require mathematical symbols such as ≤ or ≥, which are easy enough to insert as unicode characters and supported by common fonts such as Arial.
However, when I try to import text containing such characters, such as within an Excel table, they just import as "?" instead. I've tried pasting Excel table in various formats. As an Excel object or a Metafile the overall formatting is retained correctly but the symbols become question marks. Enhanced Metafile preserves the symbols but alters the fonts so that the text no longer fits within the cell, ruining the layout.
I've also noticed that when I manually insert unicode symbols using the text tool in CorelDraw X6 it changes the font to Adobe Fangsong Std R (which looks awful). If I try to change the font after the fact, everything changes except the symbols. Highlighting the symbols also looks different: rounded highlight rectangle versus normal rectangle for ordinary text. It seems CorelDraw refuses to treat these symbols as ordinary unicode text forcing them instead into this horrible wirey font instead.
I also have issues try to export from CorelDraw to say Powerpoint where Corel will automatically format some text as ligatures but when exporting these just show up as "?" in Powerpoint.
1) Is there any way to get CorelDraw X6 to reliably import and export text, including unicode symbols, without messing up the formatting/layout.
2) is there any way to get CorelDraw not to change the font of symbols?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI re-opened a drawing this morning and found some text to be different height from the rest. When I attempted to adjust all of the heights to be the same using the properties method, they all became bigger. Instead of all of them going to 6", the 5" text went to 6" and the 6" text went to 7-3/16". So, I checked the formatting size and the properties size and they did not match. See PDF.

I have a drawing which has hundreds of levels on and i'm trying to establish what the MEAN level is and the AVERAGE level. I thought the best way might be to extract the text to excel and perform it there but at the moment the only way i can do it is to copy and paste the text and its taking me forever. Is there a way to either a) extract text to excel or b) calculate a MEAN value based on texted selected?

When I use the crop tool, it takes one piece and deletes the rest... Somebody told me to make a duplicate image and crop that way, but how will I know I'm cropping in the right place?
