AutoCAD 2010 :: Message / Main Dictionary Not Available
Aug 16, 2010After installing AutoCAD on 3 new Windows 7 workstations, one of them can't find the main dictionary. I can find dictionaries (*.dct) by using the Windows Search function, but when I try to specify a path with the Options command, I'm told that there are "None available". What do I need to do to get a dictionary path loaded?

What i need to know, is there a way to remove suggested words from the Main DCT file? i.e. word is suppose to be "REFEED", but autocad wants to change it to "REEFED". These are totally different means, the latter not appropriate for client drawings.

May 30, 2012how to match up certain points. I have imported 2 point clouds and have tried to use the 'align' tool to specify three points from the source object (cloud) and three points from the destination object (cloud). When doing this, it does not properly align them. The point cloud makes it difficult to select the exact point I would like to align, since there may not be a point at that exact location, but close to it. Does AutoCAD require the points in alignment to match up perfectly or is it capable of doing a best fit?
Also, is AutoCAD capable of creating a solid 3D piece from the point cloud? I would like to take all of my points and make a smooth object.
AutoCAD 2010 :: Custom Enterprise File Or Partially Loaded CUI Files In Main CUI
Feb 26, 2013We have a Custom CUI Enterprise file that we load in the profile settings (AutoCAD 2008). I transferred it though the CUI Editor and saved it for AutoCAD 2012. When I load it into AutoCAD 2012, the pull down custom pull down menu does not show, with or without the menu bar turned on. I have some partial CUI files that I did the same way. When I load them, and list them in the Main CUI file as such, they show up as expected. I even tried to list the Custom CUI Enterprise file in the same manor, but I get a "read only" type message and it still doesn't show the pull down.
I also thought about transferring it to another CUI file to partial load and not have a Custom CUI Enterprise file.

Feb 28, 2013I'm trying to make a piping run that at one point branches off in another direction. Basically I want to have one straight pipe, a main line, where another pipe branches off and sticks out vertically from it and goes its own way. However, I want this branching pipe to be welded to the main line, not connected with a tee fitting. Inventor won't let me create branches from within a route, and it doesn't seem to want to let me snap to the existing main line run if I create a new run for the branching pipe.

May 9, 2013Isn't there a command that allows you to pick 2 lines and snap to the point of intersection when dimensioning an object with a fillet/chamfer? Typically I o-track it with apparent intersection with no issues, but its a little more difficult when your working with sloped lines, tracking doesnt like to follow angled lines. (Maybe its inventor that I'm think of that can do this?)

Jul 10, 2012Form Autocad 2000 to 2012, there is always with this problem. It happens sometimes in object snap, it does not work to snap a intersection point (two crossed lines) when drawing a line or arc or others. For sure, these two lines are in the same plan and can be filleted or chamfered. So I turned on the Apparent intersection, it works with apparent intersection point, I am not sure if this apparent intersection will cause other problem. I am working on pure 2-D drawing, do not want to get any 3D objects inside the drawing.

Apr 24, 2013I accidentally got constraints in my present drawing and could not get rid of them. pls give me a hand on how to delete them. it is causing me a problem when for example i need to stretch a line that have a point (which makes part of the line) the point moves together with the line which means the original coordinate of the point is lost. THIS MUST NOT HAPPEN. i work with precise coordinates which means the coordinates of points should be kept as originals and NOT TO MOVE ELSEWHERE.
I notice i was using the multiple stretch with C option when I noticed the problem started and after that i had constraints sticked on all the lines.
