Any way to transform/rubbersheet a photo/raster so it sticks to a wall i.e. vertically and not just doing it 2D. Trying to digitise photo's taken of walls to work in a 3d model.

Working in 2013 Raster Design. The commands for raster tools are not working. When attempting to insert an image the following message appears:
c:program filesautodeskautocad raster design 2013aeciibui56.arx cannot find a dll or other file that it needs. Unknown command "IINSERT". Press F1 for help.
Similar messages appear when trying other commands located within the Raster Tools tab.
I am not seeing a oe for raster design for Map 3D 2011. We need to attach ECW ortho images.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have one user with AutoCAD Design Suite 2013. She is unable to run any of the Raster design commands.The Ribbon is loaded but commands are not working (unknown command).
AutoCAD as such runs fine.
I've been trying to update a client menu and I've gotten most things figured out. They have a fairly elaborate routine set up to make sure our drawings work with their document control system as well as raster design. We are using AutoCAD 2011 and the menu's were meant for 2008.
Everything seems to run well except at this sub module and every time I load a raster drawing with a TIF the routine error's out at the line in Red below. I've tried everything I can think of to keep the routine running, and I want to refrain from just remarking it out, which seems to do the trick, but I do not want to do that unless it's for some other purpose. I just need to get their menus to work on newer versions of AutoCAD.

inserting a Tiff image into a dwg file with Raster Design 2011. I have a image scanned at 400dpi and the image is a good quality image, some of the text is small be legible. When I insert the image with the imageattch command the image seems to gain pixels therefore causing some text to become unreadable. I've used the bitonal filter but then I lose some resolution. Is it normal for the TIFF image to appear more dense when brought into an Autocad drawing? If so is there a way to adjust the image to look more like the scan?

View 8 Replies View RelatedI am in the process of creating 2 lisp routines, one that loads Support file search paths on the network and one that adds support file search path locally. Each routine will be run depending on the ability of ACAD to find a file on the server. I noticed that when I add the new directories the default AutoCAD folders get replaced. I researched this and found that using the SETENV and ACAD I can include the default support paths.
The issue I am running into is that not all default folders are being added to AutoCAD when I used the ACAD variable. A plugin folder under Program Data is listed in the original install, but it is not listed when I add my directories and used the ACAD variable to add the default directories. The same thing happens when raster design is installed. The help folder and the install directory for raster are not carried over when using the ACAD variable.
I am attaching the coding for the lisp routine adding server paths. Is there some syntax I can add to tell it to append to the list instead of replacing the SFSP list?

I have limited experience with AutoCAD, I am an ESRI GIS user. So here goes:
We are trying to use map image insert to insert a NAIP photo. The NAIP photo is in UTM meters. The existing AutoCAD Civil dwg is in state plane illinois wf. Everything I have read says all you have to do is go to map image insert, pick the tiff, my correlation source is a world file (.tfw), and BAM, your raster image should show up where it is supposed to. Well, it doesn't work. It appears that AutoCAD is not reprojecting the image to state plane feet. How can I get it to do this?
If we connect to the image, it reprojects it just fine. However, on every pan and zoom it is redrawing. We can't wait for the program to redraw all the time, it's too slow. So if we can figure out how to import it, it's a much faster option.
Another problem: the NAIP has 4 bands and the 4th band is an Alpha Band 1. This makes the image appear faded and white. In ArcMap you can simply uncheck the 4th band so the image looks normal again. Is there a way to do that in AutoCAD Map?
I have a small raster image (png) xrefed to an Autocad 2012 dwg. The image is on its own layer and the transparency of the layer is set to 60%.
When I select TPY the image displays correctly on the screen (i.e. semi-transparent). When I tick Plot transparency in the Plot dialog box and send the plot to our HP Designjet 800 the raster image prints exactly as I want (semi-transparent).
However when I use the Autodesk pdf writer (Dwg to pdf) the resulting pdf does not have the semi transparent appearance and the raster image appears in all its brilliant color even though it displays correctly (i.e. semi-transparent) in Print Preview. And, yes, I have ticked the Plot transparency box before seeing it to the pdf writer. Other autocad entities such as plines which are semi transparent are fine, its only the raster image that seems to lose its semi-transparent quality.
In the old days (15years ago) we scanned a lot of files to DXB, and simply imported the image into the .DWG as small objects. (I believe they were treated as polyline segments).
Now, I am forced to Import a TIFF and "embed" the object (if I want it to be a permanent part of the drawing), and edit it with separate programs like Raster Design. How to convert a "embedded raster image" into a DXB image?
The scanner used to do the work for me and save the image as DXB.It was not a "vectorization program", but the raster lines became small (not joined) polyline segments in the process.I don't want to "vectorize" with a separate program, because then it just "traces" with a zero-width polyline.The old scanner used to save to DXB, now I don't even see that as an option.
Any words of wisdom about creating a "scan" that can become "objects" (even small dots) INSIDE the DWG file, instead of a "Raster Image" that has to be xref'ed or "embedded", and will not even plot to a DXB or HPGL format?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have Lidar LAS files in UTM18 and need them in State Plane. Horizontally they come in fine to a drawing with the correct system set. Vertically they are still in Meters. I know a couple of workarounds. But I'm just wondering if there have been any advances in 2014.
We're still on 2012 but I'm testing 2014 I don't want to go through the whole process again if it's not going to work.

I am used to making cams like this with 1/4 degrees resolution - much too cumbersome in lofting. Is there a way with "_sweep" to constrain the profile (2d polyline) so that it stays e.g. parallel with the Z-axis?
View 4 Replies View RelatedWe have both 2012 and 2013 AutoCAD at work, and both versions are having the same problem. When adding favorites in Design Center, it does not show up. The shortcut is actually there if I browse using Windows Explorer, but it does not show up in Design Center. I guess this is some issue where shortcuts do not show up, which is beyond me because that is how the Favorites system is supposed to work.
I should add, this is not an issue on some of our older machines running AutoCAD 2009.

Normally all three come in fine, occasionally only two will come in. I have a drawing that I am trying to insert my table styles into and none of them are inserting!
