I have a question on the display of the layers in the layer-pulldown. I have a client that is having problems with the display of his layers in the pull-down. They are not in alpha order. When he opened the dialog box they are listed correctly - what can cause this?

The drop down box does not access as many layers as did the version in 2009, and I find myself continually searching through the drop down box to reference a particular layer. View 9 Replies View RelatedIt happens when you turn on layer manager to adjust each layer settings such as name, line type or color and etc.
Problem is that each layer row disappears and each time it happens, only solution I know is to restart the computer. See the attached image.
Normally when a layer is locked, you hover your cursor over the locked layer on screen you will be able to see a small [Lock Pad]

I design cushions for airplane seats and am trying to display a leather cover on the cushions with pull lines for piping detailing. etc. I am also wondering if a leather material style is availble for DL online.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am wondering if it is possible to have pulldown menus items be brought in on the layer that they were created on versus the layer that your template has current. I created pull down menus and (not thinking ahead) put them all on layer 0. They come in with all the attributes they were created with, but come in on the current layer. Can I change that?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI just installed 2011 and was in the process of setting up my workspace when I realized i could not find the Status Bar pull down on the View Tab/Windows Panel. Help still says it is there. When I went into the CUI I could not find the command or even the icon. I know that you can right click and edit the status bar buttons but you can only do them one at a time and then you have to right click again to get rid or add the next button and then right click again....the drop down, available in the last several releases enabled you to just check them on or off all at one time.
View 9 Replies View RelatedIn autocad 2013 there was a pull down menu in the layer panel for layer states. 2014 does not have that. How to get that to show up in 2014? I also need the pull down menu for dimension styles.
Unless im missing something it seems like it takes more move to do some basic stuff in 2014.
The best way to explain, is probably just say it shows up when you add "Time Remapping" to a layer.. Is there any way to show a time signature like this, without editing the layer?
View 2 Replies View RelatedShortly around the time I signed in to Autodesk 360 I began to have problems with how I interface with the program. I have AutoCAD LT 2013 and, having used the programs for 20 years, I use the AutoCAD LT Classic format for tools and menus. Also due to how I learned CAD in the early 90s and with many abbreviated commands, I use the keyboard extensively.
1. Certain actions using my mouse have stopped working (i.e. Right-click to edit hatch or blocks). Basically a "recent input" menu comes up each time, showing a short history of my commands.
2. When I click on an object, from the top bar I can no longer edit using the pull downs for Layer, Color, Line Type, etc.
3. I can only edit via the Properties menu or through typing in commands. However when I go to change a setting in the Property menu, the boxes with an ellipsis do not respond at all.
know if there a way to use fields in a table to pull the measurements out of dimensions snapped in a drawing (or layout) and place them in that table.
I create framing drawings and am looking for a quick way to put together a cut list without having to manually type dimensions into a table.
All of the sudden, when I go to the pull down menu and click "Save As", instead of the window opening where I can physically choose where I want to save or save over, I get the file directory in the command line. I even typed in the folder directory and it still doesn't save it there. Why the sudden change?

View 9 Replies View Related I have a simple clothing pattern I want to make a 3d Texture from which I can do however what I would like to do is make a layer out of the white background around the template with the marked pattern areas as transparent so after I paint the main template clothing ares, I can place the white background with transparent areas back in as a layer to cover where I paint or fill over the marked template area. Is this possible, if so, how?

View 5 Replies View RelatedOut of the blue, my Layer Control will not work. When I click on the icon, the top two lines on the screen go gray and the whole thing locks up. The layer palette does not appear. If I try to choose anything on the screen, it beeps. It unlocks if I hit escape. If I type in "layer" at the command line, the same thing happens. At this point, I am unable to change lineweights & colors within my layers settings.

But the problem I am facing is once the code renamed and reloaded the xref, the Xref-dependent layer properties are changing to Xref source layer properties.

When opening the layers dialogue box in AutoCAD 2013 the display does not appear to load correctly, I have had this problem before when executing this command and loaded up the old layer manager, I can't remember what the command is for load this.

Prior to the latest drawing editor crash, the display in my LAYERS toolbar would always display the layer of any single object that I would select without a command being active. After recovering, I find that this feature no longer operates.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've been working in C3D for about 5 yrs now, and one thing that drives me absolutely nuts about it is how to get the correct layers to display when plotting different sheets out of the same drawing, regardless of the layer state of my model. I worked in Terramodel for about 5 years prior to coming back to AutoCAD and became spoiled by the ease with which layers displayed on different sheets in the same drawing. You assigned a layer state to the viewport and that viewport always plotted that way.
It didn't matter what layers were on or off, frozen or thawed in the model view, once you jumped over to the sheet it always looked the same once you set it up. In C3D I've tried viewport overrides, jumping into the viewport and setting the layers then saving the layer state... All sorts of different approaches, but I've never found anything that really works. My projects are typically small enough that I have all of my sheets in the same drawing but want different layer settings on different sheets.
I have a string of 3d solids (cubes if you will) lined up in a row. I have a 3D Polyline starting below each one cube. (each polyline is a different layer name). As the line enters the cube, it then turns left in the center... and goes through the other cubes to its left till it reaches the end. So the left most cube has each line going through it, and the right most cube has only one 3dpolyline. I am looking for a way to create some kind of tangible data I can display, export or extract of what layers are going through cube one if I select it. Same for cube 2, 3, ect...
I have dummied down the example due to having 44 cubes, and not all in a single row, or this question would be an easier answer.
So is there a command, or a lisp routine I can create or manipulate to give layer names that float through a 3D Solid?
I'm trying to import a pdf underlay in AutoCAD 2012. However, every time I have imported it, the frame of the underlay shows up, but the pdf itself doesn't show up.
Contrast = 100
Fade = 0
Monochrome = No
Show underlay = Yes
Path is correct
I've tried importing image underlays (PNG files), and they work fine. Also, the pdf file is pretty big (about 100 MB), so I didn't know if that affected its ability to display. How to get this to show up?
How do I get rid of this "pin point" in my display. It shows up when displaying an isometric or perspective view. I would like to make a nice screenshot without it. There must be a variable somewhere?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have big problem with Text in AutoCAD drawings. Text is missing and I can't write in new drawings as well. We have different systems xp x 64, xp x84 , windiows 7 x64 and windows 7 x 84. Different AutoCAD’s: 2010 2011,2012 and the same problem. The problem occurs in many files, so not only in this one. When text bloc don’t work it showing every time, when we want to write, on down ribbon “** Undefined symbol 101 and 102 ...” . When we want to open stiles for text AutoCAD Mechanical have critical error: “Unhandled Access Violation Reading 0x0000 Exception at e0533c85h” and closed. We have different computers with different graphical cards. We installed already SP 2 for 2012 and other versions are too upgraded. It looks like this problem isn’t connected with hardware. We are using local licenses. You can see this problem on attached pictures.
