When I try and draw a polyline it keeps snapping to blue squares - even though OSNAP is off. It says they are a 3D vertex when I hold the cursor near them. How to turn these off? I am only drafting simple sketches and don't need any 3D capabilities.

My colleague has made xrefs for the first time. She can edit them - no problems. When I try and select a line the whole plan is selected with blue squares, then crashes. Its like it is locked. I have tried:
* updating all service packs
* edit in place
I do not know how to edit anything in the xref file.
I would like to be able to draw squares by the area they should have. So that if I need a square of 50m2 autocad automatically draws a square of sqrt(50) x sqrt(50) Because right now I have to draw 200 squares with 100 different areas and I have to calculate and manually draw each one of them.
View 3 Replies View RelatedIf I start autocad and draw a line then change its linetype from continuous to Fenceline2 it shows up like it's supposed to, a line with small squares in it.  I can also change it's linetype to Fenceline1 and the linetype shows up just fine with the line and small circles in it.
But when I call up some existing autocad drawings that have lines with the Fenceline1 or Fenceline2 linetypes assigned to them, the small boxes or circles are missing from the linetypes. When you type linetype at the command prompt the linetypes are listed in the dialog box, but for some reason they are not showing up right in the existing drawing.    When I type linetype, and hit the load button, and browse to my acad.lin file and select it, I get an error message of Bad Definition for linetype Fenceline1 and another for Fenceline2 and another for Batting etc.
So why are these Complex linetypes not working in the Existing drawing but work fine in the just call up autocad empty drawing, and how do I fix them to work in the existing drawing?
How would I create a pyramid where the base and top are rectangles not squares?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI attempted to copy with base point some blocks from one drawing to another and got a blue screen saying physical memory dump, and then my computer restarted. I tried the same thing using the insert as a block, but had the same problem. I am using autocad 2012
I'm running Windows 7, it says with 8gig ram, and video card is a Intel(r)hd graphics family. The computer is less than 2 weeks old.
Have a drawing that contains about 200 layers. When I open the layer dialog box, about 50 of the layers are highlighted in light blue. The layers appear to behave normally. Why they are highlighted?
View 5 Replies View RelatedIf you have had the issue with blue plotting purple with HP printers I discovered that its with the quality you set your printer at. If you plot draft or preview your blue will plot purple or a shade of purple. When I switched the quality to normal it fixed the issue. I called HP about the issue before I discovered this and they said update your drivers which mine were already.Â
View 1 Replies View RelatedEvery few weeks when opening a drawing, my computer restarts (just plain crashes windows and it restarts automatically). This only happens using AutoCAD, no other program has done this as of yet. I have no service packs installed and I haven't seen another post that refers to this problem. When I click on "Check for solution", nothing comes up.

One of the computers running Inventor in my educational setting has all of the menus options show as squares. A screen shot is attached. In Application Options everything is set the same as the other computers and Tahoma is the font. Yet the menu does not appear as Tahoma.Â

Not getting the whole unit "lit" up or when I finally do that, not getting the part to remove to "light up" in its entirety. Not sure if over writing a line is the problem or..........if I need to Pedit.......I don't know how to do that either and the purpose otherwise. My tutor is out of town.
I'm in 3D modeling, 2011, computer is handling this very well.
I'm running Windows 7 64Bit running Adobe CS5 Master Collection. But ever since I allowed CS5 Photoshop to control my printer (HP Photosmart Prem 310-C) to do a test print of a graphic that I created all of my Blues print a violet/blue color, no matter what color blue. It has even affected MS Word & MS Project when I try to print blue colored font or Gantt Chart blues will no longer print blue, but will print the same blue/violet color. I've even tried a brilliant blue which will all view great, but prints the same shade of violet blue! All my colors and Blues will view great! I've calibrated my monitor and I've reset my printer several times and still the same thing! I never had this problem before I downloaded Adobe CS5! A strange thing is that I can run check printer test and the data & image that is stored in the printer will print blues perfect, including running a copy direct from the scanner bed and it will produce perfect blues. I almost feel as though Adobe CS5 has possessed my PC and printer, how do I get it back to printing like it did before installing CS5 Master Suite?

I am in the business of 3d design, and have recently been learning a lot about the software I use. It works best with square textures (512x512 and maybe 1024x1024). Some of the textures i create for my models are tall and narrow, or short and skinny. For example, on a 600 foot skyscraper, my texture may be 1024x4096. What I normally do is manually cut this image into 4 textures that are 1024x1024, and apply them to their respective places on the face so the exporter doesn't diminish the quality as much. (The exporter I use takes the longest dimension of the face in the 3d model and reduces it to 512px wide, and so in this example the short dimension would become 128px, which is very low res, imo).
Is there a script that would better serve my purposes here, that would breakwhatever image i am editing in Photoshop into square chunks?
In the most extreme case, I had to take an image that was 1024x24576, and chop it into 8 different images, and i remember this process being difficult to accomplish seemlessly.
My circles & Squares are not normal, They look like the "shear" tool symbol..How do I reset this?
