Currently running the student version of 3ds Max Design 2012 in Win 7 as a virtual machine through Parallels 7, on a MacBook Pro OSX 10.7.
Yesterday when I opened 3DS Max Design I received the screen in the first image below. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Max, uninstalled and reinstalled Parallels, to no avail. If I maximize the viewport (ALT+W), I am able to see wire frames of the top, front, and side without distortion, however if I toggle to Smooth & Highlights (F3) in any of the viewports I get the same static-y screen as in the perspective viewport (see second image below).
Four days ago I did upgrade my machine with an SSD and 8 gigs of RAM, but since the upgrades I have been able to use 3DS Max Design without any issues, until yesterday.
whenever I open my 3ds Max software I get a black screen in my perspective viewport. When I go to use another viewport that one either turns black as well or the program freezes. I have been using this software for the past month or so with no such problems. Now, out of the blue, this happens. I wasn't using any other programs while running 3ds Max, I never do--just incase.
I'm here with 2013 SP2 64 bit Build 200 and two screens. Left screen is graphics area, Browser is on the left of right screen. Graphics is ATI Fire Pro V7800 with driver 9.3.3.3000.
In video (zipped MP4) you see a cutout of both screens, think of screens changing at the left of the browser.
Now, in many cases, after doing an operation, the browser is jumping back to the middle of my graphics in the left screen.
I filmed a presentation where most of the content was slides scanned from old books and catalogs. To improve view ability I took the presenter's power points, wrote them to .pdf and then individually scaled them in Photoshop. I then went into to each slide and saved the individual images as separate images (he had them all in .jpeg so I am stuck with that). It didn't look bad inside premiere but once I export it to an .mp4 the old images with lots of lines tend to crawl and its quite distracting. You did a little test video on the first slide:

The best way to stop this before I jump into editing. I don't have access to the original documents--just the scans that were embedded in the slides. Also since there are 80 slides.
I have never attempted any i-logic before and this may be running before I can walk, but I was wondering if this premise even sounded do-able. I would like to create a rule to set the last row of my revision table to all static values, and then add a row.
I have a static curve in Maya and I would like to export the coordinates of the control points in a file that can be read in Matlab. This operation must be done several times so I would like to do it using a batch file and by making a link between maya and Matlab. How can I do it?
I tried doing the pen tool frame by frame but it degrades the image. I tried doing a gain reducting but all it does is blur features and not even remove the rain. I looked up a computer science journal that gave a method with K-means clustering but I don't know how to apply it to AE..
I could design and build this project in my sleep in Fireworks. I use Photoshop for retouching, not design.
Anyway, my client wants the files delivered in Photoshop, so I am working in PS CC.
I have sliced my image up and one part is an animated GIF and the rest should be static GIFs. I cannot for the life of me figure out how to assign animation vs static for slices. Everything is animated. How do I assign a slice to be static. In Fireworks you can choose GIF or Animated GIF. Simple.
Where is the feature that allowed images to be merged while removing non-static elements. I saw a demonstration of removing people from a scene when multiple pictures were taken and the people had changed their positions. This was touted as a feature found only in PS extended a few years ago. I have never been able to locate it.
Spent all night working on a more complex "test" of V4 and it appears I ran into an overlay brick wall. My last component is a series of 6 social media-like icons and I only have two overlay tracks. It appears that I can select a group of images to drag to an overlay track but they are applied sequentially. I need them to persist to the end of the video.
Is there a way to layer static images? I see that with shapes and titles I can go hog wild in one overlay.
how can i reduce the poly count of a static mesh I made. I am attaching a screen shot of it. Rather than re-modelling the mesh or re-topologizing what can i do to reduce the poly count??
Is there an easy way to duplicate a single rendered frame to create multiple frames for use in creating a video file?
I have a part of an animation that closes with the client's logo. I'm going to hold the animation on the logo for 5 seconds. So I need to make many copies of the same frame, while keeping the naming sequence of the images proper for use in Video Post.

I have the following image. This is for schools as a fundraiser product/promo product.
What i have in green is the text box. I want it to adjust the text height and width itself depending on how much text is in the box while keeping a universal textbox size. Is there a way to do that?
it is possible to create the effect of people talking in a static picture.
In Adobe after effects I believe this is done by masking off the mouth, adding a second layer in that contains a video of someone's lips moving, and then blending the join between the two layer ... it is possible to create the same sort of effect in VS Pro X4.
how would i add a static offset to the both the northing and easting to all my points? i need to add 3.02 feet to the northing and 0.56 feet to the easting. elevation is good, but the positions all need to be shifted.
I'm using Autocad 2004 with LDD. My text style is set to Standard with simplex.shx as my font. When I select add static labels and select a line, the label is gibberish. I have tried different fonts but have the same results, gibberish.
I am using Inventor 2014 to do a simple stress analysis.
I am looking for the reaction forces at fixed boundaries, but I can't find how I can get them. Displacement, stresses, strains, everything works, but where are reaction forces?
I've to put the sections on static mode on my project 'cuz the surface corridor won't creating right, can i transport the informations of the static section to the surface and profile? Basically i'm trying to change the informations on the static section and actualizing my surface and profile using the section changes
in civil 3d 2013 i have a existing surface, alignment, and profile that is data linked into another drawing when i create a profile view from the profile data link when i get to the profile display options under update mode it shows as beening static, i don't want it to be static i want it to be dynamic. is there a way or setting that will let me change that to static? we show the existing grade as hidden but with the static option set the grade shows up with long and short.
I have just been doing some work for a company and they were using AutoCAD 2009.
One of my tasks involved stretching and moving items from imported drawings over Architectural layouts. Lines drawn on the x and y axis were fine. However, if I zoomed in on angled lines they moved out of view making them difficult to select or position to a snap point. If I selected those lines then they remained in place when I zoomed in.
When I approached the company manager he replied by saying that he would zoom in then zoom out to the point where the lines were correct and in place. I thought that he was either joking or was testing me! It meant I could not do any detailed work - which contradicts the use of Auto CAD.
The question has to consider the fact that the lines were angled and that they remained static when selected. When zooming in and selecting them they were off and running out of the screen view. also note that my colleague at the next desk opened up the file on V2008 and he could zoom in okay. I was also using a wide screen if this matters.
I created this website for a client and it can be viewed at Uscantravel.com. However being in the SEO phase of the site, the publish for Static HTML to make the website search friendly turns off the animated pop-ups and links that are layered within symbols with additional animations. It works fine when I save the .html file and upload that, but the published file for static alters the website animations when uploaded.
Can I somehow use the copy and paste the Div tags into the workable .html file to make search friendly, or am I missing something?
I am having some issues with surface profiles on a dreffed alignment no updating dynamically.
Currently it requires me to set them to static, then back to dynamic and they update.
I am well aware of the issue of dreffed surface profiles staying static. I am using the work around of dreffing in the surface and sampling in the drawing using the dreffed alignment.
Often when I want to fix a spot e.g., on a face or other surface, I can find a very small area of the surface (the "source") from which to clone. So I clone from this small spot many times on the destination location. I can't move the cursor because I would then move off of the limited source spot. What I'm looking for is a technique for picking a "source" spot and then be able to use that spot seamlessly over a larger "destination" area without being tied to the source spot. FOR EXAMPLE, if the BRUSH tool is selected, and a color identified (alt click to temporarily turn the brush tool into an eye dropper), the "source" is now identified and that source can be used all over the image because the "brush" is not tied to a static source. I need a technique that is equivalent to that but with the clone tool.
Summary: Needed, a clone tool that is "static"--once the source is identified, it can be used all over the destination location without being tied to the source. No, the Spot Healing Brush, Healing Brush and Patch tool don't do this. Using the regular brush (after selecting the color via alt-click), followed by adding noise to simulate skin yields only so-so results.
