Is there any simple method of making a copy of a line with scaling it so that the distance between segments of source line and segments of output line is constant and segments are parallel on all the length.
On attached picture - white line is source line and pink line is output line that is needed and drawed by hand approximately.
I'm using Illustrator CS6, and want to scale an object that has a brush applied to it without scaling the line weights in the brush. I've been able to somewhat do that by Expanding the object with the brush applied, but then of course it no longer has a brush applied to the object. Is it possible to scale an object without changing the stroke weights in the brush?
This is what I have now when I scale, the line weight of the brush scales when I scale the line weight of the line the brush is applied to:
What I want is to be able to scale the line weight of the line the brush is applied to, but not the line weight of the brush itself.
When I'm copying a drawing from one dwg and pasting onto a new one the line weight or sizes are changing for some reason and when printing in A3 the drawing loses it's sharpness.
The strange thing is that when i look at the properties the line size and weight still appear to the same .
New Responsive Scaling feature is great.
It's enabled me to add an Edge Animate file to my responsive Wordpress site using the Edge Suite Plugin.
Only problem for me is that although the 3.7MB file I’ve created scales perfectly on all devices it struggles to play on smartphones. (I assume it's too big and too power hungry to play smoothly on smartphones - even since I've added a pre-loader.)
So, in an ideal world, what I need is a separate low res Edge Animate file that only plays on smartphones.
Failing that, I’d be happy with a 'Down-level Stage' image which could replace the Edge Animate animation.

Unfortunately this clever solution only works when the new Responsive Scaling feature is NOT selected. As soon as it is selected, the animation no longer changes from one layout size to another when the browser window is reduced.
I don’t mind whether the fix is in Edge Animate, Wordpress or the Edge Suite Plugin - I just want a solution!
We are designing some web graphics for a friend. By "we" I mean me and a guy who lives on the opposite coast.
He did the initial page layout/design as a PhotoShop tif, at 300 dpi, in layers and about 5 inches wide. The idea, on his end, was that it would be a small file size and, therefore, faster to download on my end. With me so far?
Anyway, I'm suppose to convert it to 800 ppi wide, 72 dpi, jpg. Sounds easy enough. Or not Do all the scaling and now the graphics don't look right. None of the layer effects are right!
How do I scale his graphic, for my purposes and, once it's the size I need it, have everything look the way he created it?
Example: Text at that 5 inch wide, 300 dpi size with a one point stroke on it looked find when the graphic was 5 inch wide and 300 dpi, but at 800 ppi wide and 72 dpi, it's all wrong
Is there a preference or something I should be clicking somewhere and I'm just missing it?

I'm taking a web design class, and we are doing a preliminary layout in Photoshop CS5. Last night the prof taught us how to do something he calls "slide copying." It's basically holding down Opt or Alt while clicking on the layer, and then sliding it downward. You then get a new layer and its number.
Here is what I am trying to do. I have a 1" border around my web page. I am typing in a single letter, and then copying it. How can I make sure that when I drag it into its new position, it will be aligned with the original letter? There are going to be dozens of these going around the border, so I want to get this right from the start.
Something like "distribute horizontal centers"?
I know that I can group layers and make any changes there, of course, but I'm wondering about the easiest way to do it in the first place.
The border will be around all sides.
This may sound a bit of an odd question... I often find myself having to paste pictures into powerpoint, and, when parts of my picture are transparent, I have to save it as png before importing it into powerpoint, because if I use CTRL C in PS and then paste into powerpoint, the transparent areas appear as white. Surely there must be a way to copy in PS so that the transparency is preserved? I am using CS5 EXT.

I have VideoStudio X5.I have saved my completed video as a video .m2t file and as an AVCHD file neither of which will replay on the computer if I click on the file folder. If I copy them to a USB stick they don't replay on the HD tv either. Both play as discs on my laptop quite happily but how do I transfer them as videos to a USB

How can I copy them to X4. Which files should be copy from vs11 to x4 and to which folder. I also have OLD add on transitions that I used in vs11+ on XP like BORIS Factory. I managed to install it on the new pc and at the first look it "work" (The Boris menu open) But when I press on any of the Icons X4 crash !

2) Copy a group called "layers" from one group to the pic I've just opened.
The problem I'm having is that the action dialogue only records me switching between documents, but not the copying of the group.
I have a button that is comprised of two layers. I use this button extensively on my page so I'm trying to copy both layes at once. I make one layer active, then I link the other layer, then I use the Move Tool and press ALT, but only one layer gets copied. Is there an easy way to copy 2 Layer elements at once in Photoshop 6.0?

I have a drawing with a table on it that I need other people to be able to fill in. As they don't have access to AutoCAD I thought the best way would be to copy it into word and add the table in there. My problem is I can only get the contents of a viewport to copy if the visual style is set to 2d wireframe using the COPYLINK command. I need to use conceptual and a custom visual style. WMFOUT, JPGOUT and BMPOUT are the same as well. PDFs export ok but I'm having trouble copying to word through that.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI am using R14 which suits my hobby needs which are drawing model parts for photo-etching. I have started a new drawing for which I need parts from an earlier drawing.
The only way I have found to complete this task is copying to the clipboard, then pasting to the new drawing. I then find that I have an assembly rather than a collection of lines and circles etc and modification is not possible, eg, substituting a larger diameter or deleting one part of the drawing.
I copy an image from Illustrator, go to my photoshop file (a mockup template that I use several times a day) and "paste" is not available (grayed out) like there is nothing on my clipboard. Usually after I make 2-3 attempts at the whole process (back to AI, copy... to PS, paste...etc) I can finally get it to work, but there is an abnormally long lag time when moving from AI to PS (ai acts likes it's trying to save information before it allows the PS window to come to the front). I realize there are other ways to get AI info into PS, but this is the quickest and has always worked before. All I am doing is dropping artwork onto a mockup template, it seems wasteful to save an additional file (in order to use the "place" command in PS) just to allow that.
This problem started last week, and at about the same time saving from Illustrator in some instances has become really slow (3-4 times longer than normal)
I imported all my jpgs with keywords into lightroom 5. I'm now thinking I will no longer make a jpg as part of my workflow and just keep the keywords in the raw files. Is there an easy way to copy all keywords from 1234.jpg to 1234.tif (raw file).

What happens is when I open up an image thats say 500X500 pixels and view it at 100% it's displaying it at around 300X300 scale. When I view the same image on the web at 100% (via safari, chrome, Firefox) i'm seeing the image at the correct size. Why is it showing so small in CS6.
I have converted a PDF to DWG and the scale is out, what's the best way to scale it back to its original size?
Scale by Reference? This option works ok but no measurement seems to be spot on apart from the item you used for the scale reference.
I used the program 'Any PDF to DWG Converter' and the drawing scale in the title block is 1:50.

Using VS (I have VS4), can I copy the audio from one channel to the other channel, so that the same audio is in both channels? That way, it comes out of both speakers and seems fuller. Corel x5. When I copy text from an email or word document to a Corel file I need it to keep the same Font, Size & Color.of my Corel file template. But when I paste it, it keeps the Emails or Word Documents Font, Size & Color instead. I think I clicked on the wrong thing when I first installed Corel. I cannot locate my Corel disc to reinstall it.
