I have made a scene in 3ds max design 2013, using all default materials of autodesk and I am rendering using mental ray. the final image rendered in a very good quality has lot of black patches.

View 1 Replies View RelatedIf I load a large image (say 5400 px sq.) in Paint.net (or similar) & choose a zoom level where I like the look / size of individual elements, in ONE area. Image is still no where near 100%.
I select a rectangle so the ACTUAL size of rectangle_AND the way the selection looks AT THAT ZOOM level, is what I want. Say, to use as Fx header background.
Problem I've had: Because the image I initially cropped wasn't at 100%, when crop it - the PHYSICAL size of the rectangle may be 1920 x 180 px, but the prgm still thinks / knows it's really 3500 x 450 (or such), at 40% zoom. I can't just save the image - as it looks on screen - & it be that size when reopen it.
I DON'T want to resize / resample it, because (sometimes) that changes the current look (size of certain elements in the image). The only way I've found (gotta be another way) is take a screen shot of the cropped image, at it's CURRENT zoom level. Then it will save as a 1920 x 180 px image, NOT as a 3500 x 450 px image that was at reduced zoom.
If I resize & save at a REDUCED %, it can change the look & size of elements. Every thing I've tried to save the image - at it's PHYSICAL size on screen - say 18.5 in. x 1.75 in. (when image is NOT @ 100% zoom), results in saving a much larger image. I understand this, but looking for a way around it. Used various settings & tried to trick the apps many ways - cropping in one app, copying to another - you name it.
I've been asked to do a poster A2 size 594mm x 420mm 300dpi but when i enter these dimensions my pc is slowing down dramatically. whats the best way to achieve better performance?

For example, if I send the image to Photoshop to do any retouches, it creates a copy of the file. When I save the file in Photoshop, I then have two images in the Library module. However, I would like to keep all the history, but when browsing through my images I would only like to see the final image.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI was doing a machina at autocad 12 and when i was in rendering options I must have do something wrong, and now, when I try to render anything, the render goes on black and white. This machine is black, silver and transparent (plastic, metal and glass) and the metal goes on grey, the plastic (wich is black) goes on white and the glass disappears.
I tried to open another windows, make boxes with black plastic and another with glass, and the black turns on grey or white..
I am rendering an interior animation of a church for a client and after rendering a few frames with backburner on my offices network, I noticed that a lot of the frames have black faces that appear on the walls, then disappear in other frames. In particular the central column in the first attached image, the second image is how it should look. I've created both photon maps for GI and Final gather maps for most of the animation.

I downloaded some 3ds models, but I have problem with some of them. Well, I see all objects in the project but when I render, the render box is totally black.

On one edge of this is a strip titled 'Kodak color control patches' which is to enable me to obtain a good colour match on my reproductions. View 2 Replies View RelatedI've been playing with gimp a lot to edit my photos and how to reduce bright patches in photos that have bright spot that kinda take over the photo. I am using Gimp and cannot retake the photo.
Here is what I did.
1. I outlined my body and took away 100% of the blue, this makes the black look cleaner in my opinion.
2. I then inverted the outline and reduced the blue for the rest of the photo by 50% giving the white a cleaner look.
3. Then I outlined the bright area of snow below my feet and lowered the brightness.
4. I highlighted the sky from the mountain base up and increased the blue by 100% twice.

When useing my old favorite graphic software MS Picture-It i often need to apply overall or border transparencies to many patches. Since im enjoying the pleasures of GIMPs select definitions which absolutely cause no distortions im often thinking - this be the only missing thing. Am i correct or do such functions like previewable halfways restoring of the previous look plus border fading indeed already exist in the new GIMP?
