3ds Max Animation :: Stop Elements Passing Through Each Other Mass Effect
Nov 30, 2012
i am building a bowling alley for a university assignment and have 10 pins being knocked over by a ball, with a wall behind them. then animation works and they are all get knocked over, but the pins go through the wall and i want them to bounce back of it, and keep them inside the scene environment i have created..
Curser is dragging across the image and distorting even when not clicking on it. is the proxy image in the dialog box adjustable? the resolution is to hight. I have 16G of ram so thats not the problem. (it works ok on smaller low res images)
I have a Nikon D3100 camera and I am trying to use it to make stop animation movies. When I plug it in via USB I can import videos/photos to my computer, etc...so it is recognized. However, when I try to use it in VideoStudio X4 the only option I get is a webcam. Are there any special drivers I need to make this work? I have searched google a bit, but maybe I am missing something. I am using the trial version of the program to try and get things worked out before I actually purchase it. The software looks wonderful for stop animation so I really want to make this work.
I made the stop motion effect by the multi trim, and every time after 35-50 sec the software crash,i have to save my work every time before the vs4 crash, what should i do?
I've created my blend shapes and in the process of creating states for for the master button control. When i assign a state the slave mesh moves from it's position far off into the scene but the the state is applied to it. My question is how do i get the slave mesh to stop moving when i create a state and assigning it?
I am animating comps in After Effects CS6, and I'm quickly moving objects across the screen using positioning keyframes and changing size using scaling keyframes. Most of the time it works great; but sometimes the motion blur effect keeps appearing *after* the object has stopped moving. Not just for a second -- but forever. It appears correct when scrubbing on the timeline, but when I render the final output movie, a non-moving object sometimes has motion blur all over it.
Sometimes I can fix it by un-parenting some layers inside the comp... other times it doesn't fix it. Sometimes I just delete it and start over and it works. Seems more like a bug then something I'm doing wrong.
I also tried on my Mac Pro tower and Macbook Pro laptop in case it was a graphics card issue; it isn't, the exact same problem manifests itself in both areas. I did just discover that turning continuous raster OFF does seem to fix the problem--but then my vector images are blurry when I zoom in... and that again sounds more like a bug, not like an incorrect setting.
I have a colleague who has counciled me that sometimes it makes sense to create mass-elements for complicated gabled roof elements. Since I am pretty darn new to Revit, I am bringing in some old 2D dwg information (plans and elevations) and I'm trying to use this information to generate an in-place mass that is my roof. I'm essentially extruding gabled roof information from this geometry. So far so good. But when I try to rotate this information I find the program unwilling to do this. I have a suspicion this has something to do with the fact this in-place mass is either being hosted by the intitial horiontal working plane, or it is "pinned" to something I don't want it to be pinned to.
Converting Mass Elements into 3d solids. I have an existing file with Mass Element entities which was created back in 2008/2009 with Autodesk Autocad 2008.I now use Autocad 2011.
MY PROBLEM is that I cannot switch the mass elements to 3d solids.
'CONVERTTOSOLIDS' option does not work and it is forcing me to.
explode > convert to surfaces > union > convert to solids
This process is ok on an individual solid but I have hundreds of them to do.
Is there anyway for me to streamline this process and find a faster way to do this?
I've been looking for a solution to remove the unit string ie Lbs, g, kg from the value given from a 'Mass' value in a text string.
As you may all know, creating text and having a 'physical property - mass' value...the unit string is there...
Lots of people on here have the problem...no-one has got a solution.
Until now...
Basically...open the part you need to get the mass property of in your text string.
Follow the instructions on this webpage...this is the first part...
[URL]
Basically, this creates a Mass property value in the parameters table that you can call on as a text parameter.
It's similar to the custom iproperty model - mass but NOT the same.
Once you have done this, you can go to the drawing of the part and create a text string in the drawing and call it up as shown in this procedure. BUT it still has the unit string.
Here's the best bit that you want to know...
To get RID of the unit string...open up the part again from the drawing...click on the parameter icon...find the user parameter...in the Nominal value column, right click on the value and you get a pop-up that gives you 3 options...
Custom Property Format, Make Multi Value & Delete Parameter.
Click on Custom Property Format.
The pop-up window comes up...showing you the property type...in my case...the 4 left columns read Text, g (grams), Format & Precision...
On the right hand side I have a Preview of the text...then 3 check boxes...Units string, Leading Zero's, Trailing Zero's.
Units string is checked.
Uncheck it.
Close it...Save your part...go back to the drawing and hey presto!...the text now shows the weight you require as a straight value...no units!
I´m trying to write a script to convert all the blocks in a drawing to mass elements and export them to IGES thereafter.
I would like to select everything first. Then launch refedit and select all the blocks.
After that I would like to convert them to mass elements. When saving to IGES I would need to select everything again.
I pieced the following script together, but it fails. I think it is bexause of the request to select objects manually. Could I add a delay which would enable me to select an object?
Also it looks like ACADA is not accepting the "all" command when pselect is called by a script.
--- PICKFIRST 1 select All efedit OK
A N _AecMassElementConvert ALL _REFCLOSE _SAV _EXPORT all ---
Is it possible to create an interface that has two different animations on it?
The problem is one of them works on a three frame loop. The other I thought I would create a continuous scrolling effect like you find on those Matrix Effect animation tutorials.
However, I don't know anything about animation and I don't know the limits of ImageReady.
I need to add lens flare to all frames at once - but it needs to be applied to the flattened image. I don't want to have to flatten, click lens flare for each of the 70 frames separately.
Here is the gif and photos illustrating what happens if I select frame one - unflattened and flattened. The spinning globe of course is the animation that is inserted into the surrounding jpeg:
I am trying to make a zooming effect in an animation and can't seem to figure out an easy way. Essentially, I would like a layer (.jpg or text) to start off small and then get larger as it gets "closer", essentially me zooming in on it. Is there a relatively easy way to do this in animation in Photoshop CS5?
I've seen many architectural videos and theres an effect i would like to reproduce. I want to make an animation where the construction is build by steps. It appears by parts as the movie runs.
And example of what im talking about can be found here : [URL] ....
I am guessing maybe they are using some type of mask or something like that.
How do I create an 16 color effect, when saving my gif animation (save for web and devices) it has an option to lower the number of colors from 256. I normally use the 8 or 16 colors as it gives a great effect to .gif images.
what you get is a Gothic type washed out effect, when you lower the number of colors, when saving a .gif . The overall aim is to have a .gif that starts at 16 colors and at the end turns into 256 colors. How can I achieve this effect.
The basic premise is that I've built a grid of 100x100 tiles and aim constrained them to a locator. Now I'm wondering if I could somehow attach an "area of effect" to the locator so that only the closest tiles aim at the locator and the rest lay unchanged?
I am trying to make a friction burn effect as meteors enter the atmosphere but can't quite figure out a way to make it look good close up. I have a good shot of the meteor from farther but I have to get really close up for one of the shots. I tried using particles or an animated texture but neither of them looked quite right.
This is kind of along the lines of what I am looking for:
Everytime I use the magic extractor function ir freezes/locks up the program. I do get the status of the extraction process after picking my background & forground, yet when I attempt to preview my photo it acts as if the process is working, but in the end I don't get a preview image of my selection & the program has locked up. I'm running XP with SP3, 3.49 GB of available RAM and 20.8 GB of free space on my drive. The image I am working with is 2592x3888.
I have been entering captions on my holiday photos but after I've done a few the pictures begin to roll rapidly through. I have been closing PS9 and opening it again, but the problem continues to recur.
