View 2 Replieshow can I draw a circle with 285 ticks or small dashed lines along the rim U know just like the 360 degree compass.
After that I want to write text following the path of these ticks. In other words radial text so the whole thing would like like rays of text coming off that circle.
After creating a duplicate layer of a stroke, I then click the thumbnail of an existing layer (where I want to move the copied layer to) while holding the control key, I see the image with marching ants border, and attempt the move the copied layer. I get the following message ' the request could not be completed because the sourse and the destination documents are the same.
View 7 Replies View Relatedthere's nothing in that dropdown menu for you to select your source image/layer in the Move Path plugin.I am using an XCF (Gimp) file, with many layers. I selected a particular layer, then I opened the Move Path plugin.
View 2 Replies View RelatedWe draw with our tick on the dimensions filled in. I have one file that shows them not filled in, in model space but filled in, in paper space. They seem to be printing correctly.
What did i turn off/on and how do I fix this?
I received a drawing from a client where the architectural ticks display very large. The leader arrow shows as the correct size but the dimension tick does not. I went into the dimension style manager (dimstyle) and everything seems to be in order. The tick size is set up to be 1/16". I tried to dredge up out of my memory the autocad variables that mess with the size of the archtectural ticks like "dimasz" and "dimblk", but with no luck.
Currently using Autocad 2013.
So, this is something that's been a nuisance for a while now, and I think it's time for me to inquire seriously about a fix for it. I'm working with some ani's in max's timeline, and everyso often I find it starts to make use (or I start to make use...?) of "ticks"...I really dont wnat them, and in fact they cause a whole bunch of issues when adjusting keyframes as Im sure some of you can imagine.
Im not sure if it does this because of a setting I choose ( I always start animating in frames mode), or because I often will work in Key mode when Im swapping in a certain pose often...since all my character's animations are in one timeline.
The big question is...is there a way to FORCE these "ticked" keys onto full frames somehow? I've looked through all the timewarps I can find, and adjust <i>their</i> keys to full frames, but eventually it still goes back to ticks....WHAT MUST I DO!!!!! maybe there's a script, or Im missing something obvious?
I keep resetting to frames mode, and rechecking timewarps...to no longterm avail.
just got my boss to agree today to use cad's dimensions instead of the way he's always done it... which is dimensioning everything (everything!) by hand. Clearly that's just nonsense. But what is important is that I make sure these new autocad dimensions look exactly like the ones we do by hand.
I think I've pretty much got the basics down, I just have one major problem: tick orientation. When doing horizontal dimensions, the ticks run from bottom left to upper right. When doing vertical dimensions, they flip. This would drive my boss nuts... to the extent that I doubt I could get him to buy into this if I can't figure out how to keep the ticks running in the same direction.
I understand I could just dimension with no ticks whatsoever, and then just go copy them in by hand, but that reeks of the old, laborious way of dimensioning... and it really seems like there should be an easy answer to always keeping the ticks running the same way.
I created my sheets in another drawing using the Plan Production commands. Problem is that my alignment label Ticks displayed on the main drawing and Xrefs Modelspaces but do not display on the Xrefs' Paperspace. The ticks do not also plot on paper.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI need to copy a layer from one drawing to another, the problem is that one of them is in model and the other one is in paper. The method I tried using was: I used the q select command to copy all objects from one layer on to the clipboard and then tried pasting it in the other drawing (which was in paper) - and nothing got pasted.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have recently started using Architect 2012. We use Architectural Tick for dimensioning.
The problem is the Architectural Tick arrow is not coming in at the proper scale (Arrow head size = 3/32", dimscale varies). The arrow head seems to be out by a scale factor of 25.4 (found by trial and error).
If so is there a software patch or workaround. Can the Architectural Tick block be edited and if so where is it?

Setup 3 bar graphs (i.e. horizontal bar charts), with some data and text labels. Set them all in Type to Value Axis > Tick Marks > Full widthUnder graph > type, leave one as Value Axis: On Bottom Side. Change one to Value Axis: On Top Side. Change one to Value Axis: On Both SidesChange the stroke width and colour of these tick marks / lines the correct way - clicking twice with the 'plus arrow' Group Selection tool to select the whole group, and applying the formatting to the group.Update the chart, e.g. change the data or go into Object > Graph > Type and hit Okay,
Desired behaviour: The re-drawn tick lines should keep their assigned formatting like other groups in a graph.
What I actually see: The desed behaviour happens but only when the Value Axis is set to On Bottom Side. When the value axis is set to On Top Side, the tick lines are reset to an ugly default - 1pt thickness and pure black. When it is set to Both, the lines associated with the bottom labels keep their formatting, the lines associated with the top labels forget their formatting and revert to the default.
I'm trying to set up some chart templates that need the labels to be on the top side, and that need to be editable without losing their formatting. This bug as it stands is making this simple task impossible.
I have Civil 3D 2014. Currently my CUt and Fill grading styles show long and short batter ticks.
My question is...The long batter ticks are shown every 2m AND every Vertex and Elevation point on my Feature lines. Is there a way to make the style not show long batter ticks at every Vertex and Elevation point?
I have a stationing line. I've used the block PTTICL to make ticks. The ticks display perfectly. I'll run through a plot preview and the ticks show on the plot preview. I push plot go to the printer and the ticks are not plotted.
I've checked the layer. They are on a layer that should print.
I've checked the block. The block is created on a layer that should print.
I've run through a number of options regarding the alignment label properties and found "display" to be equal to "true."
Everything else plots just fine. Only the station label ticks refuse to plot. My project is fairly short so the work around was to put a poly line right on top of the tick mark.
AutoCAD Civil 3D 2013.
I try to select and move a layer using the Move Tool, another layer is immediately selected and moved instead.
Also, if I have layers inside a folder and try to move one of those layers, the entire folder is selected and all layers within that folder move.
I have not grouped any layers together.
I'm using Mac OS 10.4.8 with PS 9.0.1
Usually i just do stills, but soon i maybe will have to animate the work of a robot like that one:
[URL].......
I can do it just manually by moving the different parts of the robot according to the needs of the animation. But is there a way to automate/ease up animation of such a robot? Because the way that i do it is just quite slow and if i have to animate 30 robots which are doing different things it would take me a century.
I've seen the tutorials about using an Audio Float Controller to move a speaker cone but the sync with the music is "Meh" at best. Pretty much just animates it depending on how loud the music is at that given time and just shakes the cones wildly. Has anyone ran into a script that will follow the audio wave form more closely and would be able to distinguish and filter out just the low frequencies to use for a sub?
I guess I could make the cone vibrate back and forth and then when the bass "kicks" I could manually push the cone out at that given time. Seems like alot of blood, sweat, and tears though.
We've been asked to create an animated map, of sorts. Nothing on the map really would move, but sections would start one color, then highlight and change to a different color. I'm assuming the ideal deliverable would be a HD quality movie file that they could slide the time marker back and forth to see different levels of progress.
Imagine you're trying to show a highway repaving project that will take a number of years to complete. You start with the whole highway where nothing's been repaved. Then, the first year's repaving highlights and then changes color to show that it's been repaved. It remains the new color. Then, the next year's repaving highlights and then changes to the repaved color. This continues until the whole highway is shown as repaved.
I can't imagine Map3D not being able to do this, I just want to search out the best way before we get started. Worst case, we save out a whole bunch of map images and assemble them in some other software. But it seems like Map3D ought to be able to do it.
I have a picture of our fishing team holding a fish. I have taken our Team Name and animated it in Photoshop CS2.
I would like to put the animation on the photo, so.........when you look at the photo the Team Name is doing it's animation thing.
At the moment I animate the weight from 0 to 1 and vice versa over a frame, but when I reopen the damn scene its all wacky. What the heck is going on here?
I tried to install ET PickUp but its giving me an error to do so.
I'm trying to animate a camera lens to go from 11mm to 24mm over 200 frames. When I animate the lens and run the animation it goes crasy and gives me silly results.
View 5 Replies View RelatedThe idea goes like this: I want to animate a set of pipes where the top half of a pipe will become gradually transparent (invisible) in the middle of the animation, allowing users to see the liquid flow inside them.
So let's say we have an animation consisting of a total of 300 frames. On frame 100, the top half of the pipe will be at 0% transparency. On frame 101, transparency is at 10%. On frame 103, transparency is at 20% etc. This goes all the way until the transparency is at 100%, where the liquid is visible within the lower half of the pipe.
Can this be pulled off in 3D Studio Max?
I am working on a small animation for a piston pump. I have managed to get the shaft and piston head moving in the correct motion using an expression controller and now trying to get the arm part to work in sync is causing me problems, it just seems to be largely out of place. There is probably a simple solution for the problem although as I am new i am still getting to grips with the software. I have attached a file for the scene.
The attachment feature doesn't seem to be working therefore i have uploaded the file to this link:

Is there anyway to animate anything in the object properties like visible to reflections?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm using 3dsMax2011 and having an issue with ProBooleans not animating over time when rendering. I'm using a curved box to subtract from a curved object. If you scrub the timeline and render a single frame it displays and renders just fine, but if I render over a range, say from frame 115-160, the boolean never works. I've Started from new, Deleted the old substracting mesh and redrew Merged objects into another scene created new Boolean test with new objects but nothing seems to work.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI need to animate a butterfly in 3D. I created the wings with 2 identical shapes. I animated the wings flapping with the rotation tool. So now I have a stationary butterfly that's flapping its wings. Should I animate the butter fly on the same comp or should I create a new comp and import the butterfly into that new comp? I tried to animate the butterfly moving in a new comp, but it's difficult to work with because you're animating the whole comp, meaning when you select the butterfly, it's the whole comp you're selecting, not just the butterfly. This makes it difficult to work with.

Is there a way to treat a polymesh so that peices can break off of it in a controlled manner? I have tried pro-boolean but it is not to effective for multiple pieces.
