I am using illustrator cs6 and whenever i try erase paint lines it leaves a thick black ouline of where i erased, i have seen a few posts with the same problem but no solutions. Is their any way to fix this issue or change the settings of the eraser?

I have white for primary and secondary and opacity on full.
I am trying to set a black layer mask and use the eraser tool to edit it. Unfortunately the eraser tool is not responsive. I recently did a round of software updates for CS6.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm working on a logo and am having trouble erasing part of the path of a circle.
Here's what I did: I first made an elipse, then cut out a piece of it with scissors so that it looks more like a "C". Then I used the pen tool to draw an upside-down "v" intersecting with the circle. I am trying to erase a little bit of the top of the circle, to make it line up with the vertical line of the "v", but every time I try to use the eraser, it ends up drawing a line that connects the two end anchor points of the shape I just created.
I have two shapes placed next to each other but the top section displays is a faint line to the left. How do I use the Path Eraser Tool to delete/remove that piece? Or is there a better way to remove?

i made a animated Gif (Gimp 2.8) but there is something wrong.
i made an escalator with 2 persons on it, they move up the stairs in 12 steps.i made 12 different .XCF's for every step one.
Before converting to animated gif i make the XCF's 1 layer each.when i use the option FILTER > ANIMATION > OPTIMIZE (difference)the animated gif leaves black lines when the persons move (see picture attachment) the export file is very small so that's ok
When i use FILE > EXPORT > (=export as a animated gif) with the option delete previous frame, then the animated Gif looks fine. but the size is 5x bigger than when converting the first option ( i understand why)
how get rid of the black lines ??
When I use the healing brush is tends to "skip". It leaves a line of circles like a stamp would instead of a flowing line like it should leave. No matter how slow I move the brush it leaves a circle and then as I continue to draw nothing happens until I reach the edge of the first circle, it then drops another circle and it continues that way as long as I draw with it. The brush tool works fine, leaves a smooth line. The Spot Healing and Patch Tool work fine but the healing brush will not heal in a smooth stroke. It skips along a leaves a tail of circles the size of the brush. I am using a fast computer, i7 processor, 16bg ram and a SSD drive so I do not think speed is an issue. I upgraded from CS4 where the healing brush worked fine on this computer

Ever since that when i click shift, it just allows me to draw vertical lines, rather than vertical or horizontal.
While trying to use cloning tool, it would leave a trail of white & would not clone the designated area! If I buy the full version, I don't want my money waisted on a program that doesn't work properly!
View 4 Replies View RelatedQuite often I use teh brush tool on clouds, to define edges a little better. However when I do it leaves 'splatter' all over. Sometimes due to colour and texture you can't see it very well, but most times I have to cancel the edit because of this splatter.
I can only describe splatter as spurious drops of brush effect.
When trying to etransmit a dwg from Civil 3D 2010 which has line/curve tags with tables built from them, we are getting output which has the table headers but no entries below. The cad user on the other end gets no line/curve data. The other user is on Civil 3D 2011.

My eraser tool is acting strange.Whatever pattern I erase, the tool turns it into an entire rectangular area as soon as I take my finger off the mouse. For example, if I draw an 'S' shape, it measures from the farthest corners and just erases the entire area in a neat rectangulare shape [].
