View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I open Photoshop, no matter what tool I select, it seems to be stuck on the 'Eraser Tool'. For example, I can seemingly select the pointer or marquee tool ok, but when I tried to do something on the art board, it's as if the eraser tool is selected.

My eraser tool is acting strange.Whatever pattern I erase, the tool turns it into an entire rectangular area as soon as I take my finger off the mouse. For example, if I draw an 'S' shape, it measures from the farthest corners and just erases the entire area in a neat rectangulare shape [].

I have reset the settings by holding shift-ctrl-alt while starting the program.
IM TRYING TO ERASE THE BACKGROUND OF A PHOTO I HAVE.
WHEN I USED THE BACKGROUND ERASER TOOL FOR THE FIRST TIME IT ERASED THE BACKGROUND TO WHITE OK .
NOW WHEN I USE IT IT ERASES TO A CHECK PATTERN COLOR.
MY QUSETION IS HOW DO I CHANGE THE COLOUR OF ERASER TOOL SO WHEN I ERASE SOME BACKGROUND IT GOES TO WHITE .
The eraser tool will only appear as small crosshairs no matter what I try.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently bought PSE 10.I have an Intuos 3 Wacom tablet and whenever I switch to the Eraser tool, in the brush preview icon (top left corner) I see this ~ type of a shape with narrow-pointy edges, indicating that the size-pen-pressure feature is on. This is always true, even when I switch off all the per-pressure options via the Brush tool.
how to control or at-least disable the pen-pressure feature while in the Eraser tool?

Suddenly my CS2 has started to act up. First, after opening a file and start to do a background erasing, the brush shows up as crosshairs.
after a brief time of working with those limitations, when I click on the downdown menus, they get highlighted, but nothing drops down. If I try to close the file or the program, all I get is a warning "ding".
I am looking for a good tutorial in the various uses of the eraser & segment removal tools. I cannot seem to get the hang of how to use these tools to erase or delete sections of a closed object and leave the object open after using the tool.
So far the only way I know of to leave an object open is by using the shape tool to open a curve - surely there is a way to do this with the eraser and/or segment removal tool.
I just bought Xara Photo & Graphic Designer 7. I can't locate the Magic Eraser tool.

Since I first upgraded from PSP X3, 5 months ago the eraser tool has worked great. But just in the last week I have been having problems with it not working correctly. It seems like it is faded and not erasing like it should. The hardness IS raised up to 100 but still no luck. The background eraser is working great, it is only the eraser tool that is acting up. Here is a screen capture of what it is doing.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI'm having a problem with my Wacom tablet. The stylus tool works fine (gradients, pen, paint) except for the erase tool - it won't erase to full transparency when I select the erase tool then drag my stylus. This is weird, since the actual eraser end of the stylus works fine: I just hate using that end of the tool, and much prefer using the stylus' pointed end to do all my work.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm working on a logo and am having trouble erasing part of the path of a circle.
Here's what I did: I first made an elipse, then cut out a piece of it with scissors so that it looks more like a "C". Then I used the pen tool to draw an upside-down "v" intersecting with the circle. I am trying to erase a little bit of the top of the circle, to make it line up with the vertical line of the "v", but every time I try to use the eraser, it ends up drawing a line that connects the two end anchor points of the shape I just created.
