I am a long-term user of MSP7 and 8 but now need something for editing HD movies so have downloaded a trial version of VSPro X4. The layout looks familiar but not the black skin. Is there any way of changing to something other than white on black which I find very hard on my old eyes. Quite off-putting in fact - probably terminal as far as the trial goes. Or am I the only one who doesn't like it?

A tip I came across by accident, if you'd like to smooth the skin of a subject without loosing too much detail, Deblock (at it's default setting) seems to do a good job.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI occasionally use GIMP to burn-down parts of portraits that compete with the face. For example, bare shoulder, midriff over-light, hands over-lit.
The skin ends up looking greyish, not like less-lit skin. It works not too badly visually, as the emphasis is on the face, but fails on inspection.
I have tried the burn tool and just plain old Brightness, both on a selected area.

I just bought VS X3 and when i try to save a file all the file types are NTSC. I select:-
create video file >Blu-ray>
then all options are prefixed with NTSC but being in the UK I need PAL?
I have a video clip in 4:3 format that I want to insert in a video project in 16:9 (project properties set at 16:9). How could I do that?
I know that there will be black bands above and below the converted project. However, when I inserted the 4:3 video clip in the 16:9 project, it stays in 4:3.

I tried shift click on the first clip and then the same on the last one to group them all. They group but I can't change the volume for all of it. Do I have to change volume separately on each clip?
If so, is there an easier way other than dragging the little markers up and down when I'm on the volume timeline?

View 10 Replies View RelatedI'm new to Corel. I have done some video editing. I have used Premiere in the past. I am importing dv video and the size captured is 740 x 480 from my Sony DV camera. It is an older camera. First Digital Hi-8. When I produce a video and play it in a player on the pc it is displayed in whatever size I want, including full screen. When I burn a dvd it only plays in a small window, I'm assuming 740 x 480. Is there a way to produce a video that will take up the entire tv screen. I'm only concerned with 4:3 ration, not widescreen at this time.

First, I have lots of files with different properties ( SD and HD files) and all files have different properties. My goal is to edit each individual file, save as individual project file (VSP) and create individual final video file, however with an option. The option is to change any property of that individual video file.
Since creating template would not work with all different video properties, how else should I create a final video file to be able to change only the video bit rate (VBR)?
After editing a file, in when I select “SHARE/CREATE VIDEO FILE/SAME AS FIRST VIDEO CLIP”, the “OPTIONS” does not give me the option to change any individual property. That is, the video files that have too high VBR, I would like to reduce their individual VBR only and leave the rest of the other properties alone.
I have googled about changing the height of individual tracks and couldn't find much. Is it adjustable? If not, is this planned for the future?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm getting ready to burn a project onto a Blu Ray disc, and after going through the create disc process and selecting 'burn', I get a message that the working folder may not have enough space, but I can select another folder in preferences. That doesn't work, any path I change in preferences just keeps going back to the folder that VSP chose, and always the same message. I downloaded SP2, no difference.

In my original "preferences" I selected Blue as the Background color, added about 100 video clips and still pictures that now have blue on both the right and left edges of the screen. View 7 Replies View RelatedI have created and burnt a video and find that after burning it plays fine on a computer but not on television. Opening the video in Pro X3 and checking the Properties I find that it is in NTSC profile. Obviously not a lot of use in the UK. The television tells me that the DVD is an incorrect DVD, which I would expect if it's burnt for viewing on a computer or in NTSC format.
How can I change this to PAL DVD? When saved it is saved in Corel VS, which I would expect. When I go into the Library to obtain the video there appears nowhere where I can change it to PAL.
