Well I had to re-record it from tape. I was wondering because I have never done such a long one, what may be the best settings as far as bitrates trying not to loose any more quality than necessary.
I need to create 3 hr storms for use in SCS analysis. I created new .pcp files and.cds files. The .cds file has three hours worh of preciptauon ratios establihed by the City I'm working in. The .pcp has the new total inches in the Custom row. The calculations seem to rum OK; but I am getting a negative outflow in the table at the 50 % point (not on the curve). I've looked a the distribution table and there is nothing funny going on around the half way point.
I am using Elements 11 and was just saving a photo that I had just completed some edits on when the power went out in our area for just a split second. When it came back on and I went into elements orginizer, my photo was there however, it showed an hour glass where the thumbnail picture should be. If I click on the hour glass, my picture appears in full size. I can even open it up in editor and the photo is there. It is just in the orginizer where the thumbnail should be that the hour glass appears. After trying everything I know to correct this issue, I uninstalled elements from my computer and then reinstalled it hoping that this would cure the problem. how I might get the thumbnails to reappear. Also, since reinstalling the software, I have upload new photos and they too have this same problem.
We currently have 4 licences for AutoCAD 2012 and once it was installed it takes a really long time to plot and the hour glass just keeps flipping. What can i do to resolve this problem?
I am exporting a 2 hr movie as Apple Pro Res (LT). Last week this happened within 5 hrs but today the export is very slow. It renders about 20 frames and then stops, 20 more frames and then stop. This is very strange.

I have bought a new HD Camcorder. I understand that I need Blu-ray disk in order to burn my movie to HD format.
I am using the VS Pro x3 program. Before the burning process, in the "Create Video File" step, I have (among the others) the Blu-ray template, the AVCHD template and the HDV template. Which one of them I have to choice?
In the DMF 7se the output format of Blu-ray disk is BD.
I need to make a few videos and then use those to make another and then use that to make yet another.
Is there a best (or better) format (avi, wmv, mpeg, flv, etc) for doing this to have the least loss due to the reuse or is there some trick to avoid loss (other than mastering everything in one project from the originals)?
My main camera saves AVHCD files at 29.975 fps, secondary camera saves mov files at 25 fps, and third camera saves mpeg-4 at 30 fps.
I often wonder if I should just convert all the source clips from all three to one single format for editing, as perhaps it would be easier to ensure the audio and video stays in sync, and it just seems the right way to work.
What would the optimum format be for me if I started doing this? HDV? Actually I want two answers - best compressed format, and best uncompressed format.
I've been creating video files in Pro X5 to upload to Vimeo. They are fine but I wondered if I could create a better quality format to watch on my laptop e.g. in terms of Kbps etc. The files are:
They are created from source files which are: PAL (25 fps) Microsoft AVI files 24 bits, 720 x 576, 16:9, 25 fps Lower Field First Matrox DV/DVCAM -- type 2 PCM, 48.000 kHz, 16 Bit, Stereo
What would be the best format quality for a laptop? I tried 20,000 Kbps and 256 Kbps sound for the heck of it but the laptop struggles to play them.
I used to own Ulead Video X2 and after consulting many times with Ken Berry I was successful in some important projects. I now have purchased VideoStudio X6 with the hopes of it performing well right out of the box. No such luck. I have installed in on my HP work laptop thinking it's much more powerful than my home PC, but in trying to create my first project, I am not able to simply import a jpg to do a slide show with music. It gives the error "Unable to open file [xxx....xxxx...jpg]. ! File format mismatch [16803:1:3]"
I have of course scoured the web and have seen some other users struggling with the same error. So far all I've seen is that it may be the video card or Update to the Graphics board driver. I'm not too techy though I work at HP...and am really nervous about altering any updates on my work laptop. I haven't yet tried any updates or patches thinking that if I just got this, shouldn't it be the latest? I was successful in importing video from an iPhone and I've been successful with mp3 audio files as well, but the jpg's just aren't working. I even tried converting the jpg files to pdf format - but that's not supported I see as an importable file.
I have also noted that if I try to view the sample pictures from the library, it tells me "Original file [C:program filescorelcorel videostudio pro X4samplesimagexxxxxJPG] doesn't exist. I am able to view the sample video clips. But when looking at where Corel was saved on my system, it didn't default to "Program Files" which I thought is what it stated upon installation, but it put it in "Program Files (x86)" So I don't even know if I can relink to fix that. Even if I do, that doesn't solve my jpg fundamental problem. I hate to sound like a whiner, but I'm really discouraged and hope the fix is easy after spending so much for a reliable Video SW program. My wife's best friend passed away and I've promised a tribute slide show for her wake to be completed in the next 2 weeks.
I have a created a video using my Sony XE105 handycam in HD and edited it successfully using X2.
I can then export it to WMV format and view the file in superb quality in windows media player. However, when I try to export into FLV format, I get the message about converting and it sits at 0%. I have left it for over a half hour without any movement before deeming it as having "hung" and trying again.
I'd really like to export movies in FLV format rather than WMV?
I have just download and installed Corel VideoStudio Pro X4. Mainly with the expectation I could import and work with MTS file formats.
However I've gone to import them and it comes back with a file format mismatch error. This doesn't make any sense to me, as I read up on it and thought the program could work with these files.
The files that I want to import are very big, eg/ 206mb and 418mb. Do I need to downsize these to work with them? If so, how do I do this?
I am currently on X6, but have had every version prior produce the same problem. When I create a Video File using the "Custom" avi (Xvid) option, it doesn't matter which Audio format and setting I select ( and I have tried them all !) when I play the file on my TV ( Panasonic - New) I get a message that the Audio file is unsupported, and there is no audio.
How to render HD 1920 x 1080 video clips into the .mov, 1080p format required by my stock agency. I've gone into Share>Create Video File>Custom>Quicktime Movie Files>Options>General... but I am unable to find a 1920 x 1080 option. 800x600 is the highest setting with the default being 720x480. I'm using VS Pro X4 and also tried X2.
Original clip info for one camera: Type H.264, 24 bits, 1920x1080p, 16:9, 59.94fps Vari. bit rate 26,000
I have been using Video Studio Pro 4 and was always able to insert, play and record to dvd the MOV file format. All of a sudden I am getting an VS 4 will not let me add Mov files to the time line.
I have Corel VideoStudio x2. I am trying to open an mp4 video file and I get this error message; Unable to open file [C:xxxxx.mp4]. File format mismatch. [16803:1:2] I can play the file with Windows Media Player, so I know it runs ok.File came from a cell phone device.
I am trying to add a few sounds to the library so I can use them in my project. I downloaded a few wav files and when I try to import them in my media library, I get the message that File format mismatch.
I did import wav files in the past without any issue. Is there something else to wav files than just the name and extension which could be causing this error?
i bought VSP4x about a month ago to try to get back into video editing (was originally using Media Studio on my XP machine but it isn't supported on Win7) and was working fine with video acquired through the method capture -> edit - > share. but once i started bringing in videos from other sources it started going bonkers. one source i get my video from is a screen capturing program called Bandicam. it creates standard Mpeg encoded VBR AVIs. i would editing my footage cut, and snip where needed. add some text and then render. as soon as it hits 1% of rendering it will come back with a unspecified error and give me a dump files to send to tech support. i then proceed to find tech support but was unable to find any sorts on the website that wasnt going to cost me $20 just to send an email. i searched everywhere i can after that for a solution. couldnt find one.

I have been trying to import AVI (H.264) files but keep getting the file format mismatch. The files all open, play and edit (WMM) on my laptop but not on VS. Other file formats seem to be fine but I wanted this program for its HD capabilities. The files,on sdhc card are from a Veho Kuzo camcorder. how do I set up the preferences so that the program can see these files?
I just installed VS X5 and tried to import a video from my GoPro Hero3 Black. Two Videos will work but all the others will not. I keep getting "file format mismatch" error.
I'm trying to insert stills into my project and I keep getting the "file format mismatch" error. I've tried JPG, PNG and even bitmap formats, I've tried different pictures from different cameras/sources and the result is the same every time.
I have just received back a 15min 8mm movie from a film transfer company. They suggested for editing purposes that it has been transferred as a AVI file.
Having transferred the AVI file to my Video folder in Windows 7 i have tried to enter the file into Coral Video studio 12 by right clicking on the time line, this will not open the file for me to edit.
The file plays straight from the disc ok on the computer ok but does freezes intermittently. the file size is 3.36Gb
is it posible choose 'framebased' format while burning bluray dvd using UVSX6? how?
since i found the result disk i burn with 'upper field first' looks not as sharpness as the m2t file output with bluray h264 30p (framebased) format, it looks like there are only half pixels amount in vertical direction.
P.S. i look result disk through BD dvd player software on my pc.
I've been experimenting with syncing audio and video in a precise way (something like URL....), and have found that in every output format except "MPEG Optimizer...", the sync is a little off... or at least different than the preview.
Through experimentation, I have found that you can be off by one frame and not really notice, but two frames and things look "amateurly" synced. Given that there is one frame leeway, I figured that rounding due to frame rate differences are accounted for, but this is not the case.
In some cases, I have also noticed transition and F/X changes, depending on the output format. For example, I have an image of a statue with "AutoSketch" applied. In the preview, everything looks wonderful. In HD MP4 output, the statue is drawn top to bottom, then the base of the statue disappears and is re-drawn. In DV and WMV format, the drawing is noticeably different, even though the resolution is the same.
What gives? If we can't count on the output to be like the preview, then all that time spent making a killer sync is just wasted
