I'm trying to add a title to the beginning of my video but when I drag my video clip down to the timeline I can't get it to start after the beginning title. How do I add deadspace to the video timeline so my title text shows at the beginning? I can't figure this out. It seems so simple. I just want text at the beginning and then after 10 seconds I want my home video to start.

I'm running X4. I have 3 minutes of photos with text and audio narrative at the beginning of my project. When I try to add the first video clip to let's say 3:01 of the project, the video track pins itself to 0:00...I don't see how to set it free...

View 3 Replies View RelatedI am using VS Pro X4 for quite some time. All of a sudden today, I was not able to "add a title" to a clip. It was working fine yesterday. Whenever I clicked "T" for "add a title to a clip", it switches from "Clip" to "Project" and although the "Double click here to add a title" was shown obviously nothing happened because it was in "Project" view.
After Brian told me that it always go from Clip to Project when clicking "T" or double clicking the Title track, that seems to be normal.. After using VS since VS 9, I have not noticed that before (if something works one usually does not notice anything...).
After re-installing VS Pro X4, per instructions in corel.force.com "How to remove X4 manually", and reinstall it, I am still not able to add text to the clip. Clicking "T" or double clicking the Title track still gave me the "Double click here to add title " notice in the preview window, but nothing happened upon double clicking the Preview window.
Out of curiosity I also ran VS X2 ,that is also in my computer, and with X2 the same problem exists --> no text can be added to a clip.
Back to VS Pro X4, however, I am able to drag a VS pre-set Title clip (Lorem Ipsum) to the Title track and then modify the text. So, if I could not get the problem solved of adding text directly to a clip, I have to add text the long way through the preset Lorem Ipsum clips.
I'm trying to make a video where while the video is playing a series of dollar signs are added as if someone is typing. i'm able to do this with just adding a new title with one more dollar sign each title. What I'd like to do then is show the dollar signs being deleted and then a series of red hearts are typed in its place. I can't seem to figure out how to get hearts or any picture/object in a title.

How does one get the video to end on the photo with the title in place, or, freeze on the photo and title after the tile appears. The more I extend the title bar, it just takes longer to appear and still disappears at the end.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI trying to use GREP within a paragraph style to bold the title of a listing at the start of a paragraph. I want to limit it to the first set of quotation marks, and leave any other characters within quotes in that paragraph un-bolded.
I used the expression below, which i thought would start at the beginning of a paragraph (^), left quotation mark (~{), any character, any number of times (.+), followed by a right quotation mark (~}), followed by a space (s), zero or one times, shortest match (+?).

Unfortunately, it bolds everything through the next right quotation mark.What can I add to the expression to restrict the GREP to find just the first set of quotes? These would be titles that may have multiple words or numbers in the title.

I have been trying to create a short video that will show some video through a title. I have found a Corel Tutorial on how to do this but it seems to be for an earlier version of VS since I do not see some of the screens in X5 that are shown in the tutorial. I am still basically a beginner with some of the VS features so may have easily overlooked the process.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI've been unable to resolve a problem encountered when I insert a "title" to overlay on the first 30 seconds of a corresponding video clip.
When played back, the subsequent portion of the remaining video clip past 30 seconds goes missing. However, on this "missing portion" the audio portion of the video clip is present while the video portion becomes solid black to the end of the clip. The same result happens when I burn it.
In the "PROJECT" playback mode both the title and the video play fine, as do both the video and title in the "CLIP" mode.
I upgraded to VS X4 SP1 having successfully used its predecessors for many years. However, I now cannot burn a DVD as it fails in the Converting Video of the title (001/001] step.
My clips are captured by firewire from a Sony camcorder in DVI format. In this project I am using transitions, moving menus, 12 chapters and titles extensively.
My workflow is as follows: Share, Create Disc, DVD, Use first clip as introductory video is unchecked (patched dll file for Unknown Error installed), use Smart Scene Menu, Burn. Timeline is 1:26:54:22 so I select Yes to fit to DVD. PC crashes anywhere between 6 and 18 minutes later. Do not convert compliant MPEG files is checked.
I have tried various other things and can successfully burn a video under 30 min on the timeline without and transitions, chapters or menus.
My project properties are Microsoft AVI, PAL 25fps, 24 bits, 720x576, 4:3, Lower Field First, DV Video Encoder - type1
Clip properties are the same with 32000kHz, 12 bit Stereo audio as per attached file.
The converting video of the title step takes up to 30 min to complete for a 20 - 30 minute project, so seems like a proportionally high time of total job.
Is there any way to push the video in the video track after the title track is completed ....

In the preview window i noticed that every time a new clip is being played, the program adds a top line and bottom line, often displaying something from the previous clip in the timeline. I thought this was not a big deal, but then after saving my video as a finish .avi file, the problem was not solved..

The clips are recorded with a 4:3 ratio and 720p, 60 frames/s. When i played the finish created file, i tried in Windows Media Player and in VLC.
I have a project which is a party with background burble. I cut to a mute cutaway shot of the mountains outside the window, then back into the party. I want the background burble to run right through. How can I strip some sound off a combined video clip and lay it under the mute outdoor shot?Used to do this quite easily in 16mm.
View 11 Replies View RelatedFor the last few weeks I have been using the trial version of Pro X4, which I would gladly purchase if not for two recurring problems: (1) The program often shuts down when I am adding subtitles. (2) Sometimes I get the blue screen of death after loading video from my camera.
The subtitle problem is one I have experienced with the old Ulead Video Studio. I have a brand new hard drive with lots of available memory, and I do not have similar problems when using Windows MovieMaker (which I hate to do because VideoStudio is better).
The second problem is more disturbing, because the computer itself shuts down. Again, I have experimented, using Windows MovieMaker to load video, and there is no problem. The crash seems to take place after the video has been loaded, when VideoStudio begins displaying thumbnails of the clips (I load using the "split by scene" feature).
When this happens, I have been getting the "No storage to load BB" message, about which there is a thread somewhere, without a real answer for what "BB" stands for. I have read through this thread, and the suggestion seems to be this has something to do with file size.
Sometimes after I click "okay," my computer monitor goes blue with some an error message that I cannot fully read because it extends off the edges of the screen: something about dumping memory. Some numbers countdown at the bottom of the screen, something about memory dump, but it all disappears before I can read through and make sense of anythingl.
After rebooting, I might also get a message about the file (singular, not plural) being corrupted and therefore not properly saved, but all the clips are there when I look for them.
My hard drive is not short of memory (3/4 empty of 465 GB capacity). I also tried saving directly to my external hard drive (which has 1.5 TB free out of 2 TB capacity). Same problem.
How I can add an edited audio file to a MP4 video file? The problem is that the MP4 video already has audio files included with the import. I want to change those file and add the edited files. It seems that I can't delete or cut the audio files out of the video clip to add the edited version. By the way I am using Corel Video Studio Pro X3

When creating a menu for a DVD, the first chapter defaults to 00:00:00:00, the beginning of the DVD. I don't want to have that be the first chapter. I want to either remove that chapter or change the time location.
The option to remove the chapter is grayed out and I cannot find a way to change the time say 00:00:10:00 for example. How can I change the time or delete the 00:00:00:00 chapter?
I shoot vacation video with out tripod and at the beginning of each clip, I have shaky video because of pressing the record button.Same apply to end of the clip when I stop the recording.

I have Video Studio X5 and the video format is AVCHD (Canon HF S200).
I get this strange thing when editing clips in VS x3 - each clip has 3 frames the same at the beginning. It's a real pain, as it mean I have to cut each clip at the start. I always assumed it was something to do with the footage from my Canon HG20 camcorder. It's a HDD camcorder, and though I don't shoot in HD (I shoot in SP - 7 sbps), I never used to get the problem when editing mini DV clips. I recently downloaded the Pinnacle Studio 15 trial, however, and noticed that it didn't happen in that editor. I prefer VS X3, and also like the trial of VSX4, though the problem persists in that version, as well.

I know of the regular way to accomplish this by adding the custom title block to the templates folder in the Inventor folder on my C drive but what I would like to do is somehow link the template to my Inventor templates folder while keeping it in it's current location so that others and myself have access to the latest version of it due to the fact that it is a working document and will be updated periodically.

Now my preference is to use a landscape orientation, but I can't get it to work yet.

How to manage adding titleblocks to sheets. On my last few projects I had x-ref'd in a titleblock which contained all of the generic info that was consistent throughout the whole sheet set. Then I created a block that I inserted into each sheet that I could edit and make sheet specific.
While this works, once you have insertion points correct, I was thinking about instead making the generic part of the titleblock a block also. My concern is that as I have revisions, the generic block that I would update would not "ripple" through the whole set quite like it did when I was x-refing it in.

Is there a way to display the projection (FL-W83) or Datum (NAD83) of a DWG file in the titleblock? Maybe using fields, or a diesel expression of some sort? I belive the information resides in the .NET framework, how can I get that into my titleblock?

I am about to recieve an order to provide drawings to a new client who has requested me to author an new blank drawing title block for the required drawings. The company does however have a Logo and other necessary details.
My question is: What format should the logo be in and how do I transfer this into the drawing title block, bearing in mind that I will most likely have to change the size to suite the various size drawings sheets, namely A0, A1, A2 etc?
I have attempted to search for this information on CT and having found the topic been denied request to open whatever. This is a copy of the notification receive when attempting to open a topic:
