I am editing a video and the footage is an HD .mov (30 fps, 24bit 1920x1080 48s in length) file recorded directly from a logitech webcam. The clip plays fine in the Library, but when I add it to the storyboard/timeline the video plays super fast, then goes blank for the duration of the clip.
View 2 RepliesI have imported 5 clips into Videostudio Pro X4, all taken concurrently with the same camera/settings etc. If I play back a single clip, the quality is as I would expect it to be. If I switch to playing back project rather than clip, there is a noticeable drop in quality.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a new camera which records in AVCHD format. I have transferred the video files from my camera to the computer. I have compiled a project on Video Studio ProX2. When I playback each clip they play at normal speed. When I playback the project before copying onto a disc the playback is very fast. I have also got as far as sharing the project onto a disc but when I click on preview the playback is again very fast. I see that I can slow down the playback but this also slows down any speech on the video.
I have used Video studio PRox for a couple of years now with great success with an old Sony Handycam but I must need to do something to the new format to play it back at normal speed.
Downloaded and installed the latest VS X3 trial version 13.6.2.42. Direct X is installed on the PC.
There is a problem when I try to play in VS X3 any MPEG2 file created with the earlier version of VS 7SE. The video playback is too fast and I hear only an intermittent high pitch noise. There is no problem playing the same file with the Windows Media Player.
I can play without problem .avi file captured from a DV camcorder. The VS X3 sample files play fine as well.
I've been using VS 11.5 Plus for several years with no problem. Recently, I received a new camcorder, a Sony HDR-CX305 which produces .MTS files. I can open the files with VLC and Windows Media Player. For editing in VS, I chose to use proxy files. When I put the files on the timeline and play them in project mode, everything is fine (display & sound). But in clip mode, the clip is played really fast, less than 1 second, which makes difficult the editing.. I tried with smart proxy disabled : same problem.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI shot some video's with my HD-camcorder (Samsung HMX-H200) this New Year's Eve, and now I want to put them all together and make a nice video. My problem is that when I try to preview/edit the 1080p HD video's the preview screen just goes black, and there is no sound either. But when I put the entire unedited clip into my project it WILL play, but then I cant really edit anything. I also used another camera that shoots in 720p, and those video's play and can be edited perfectly The version that I am currently using is 14.0.0.342, and it says that there are no new updates.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI am playing a section of a project in Timeline view. The section is marked by the Trim Markers. Starts fine but then pauses/stops when it reaches the end of the accompanying music (an mp3) rather than at the second Trim Marker. Theses two points are different because the video fades to black as the music finishes. The video should continue to run for 2 or 3 seconds more with a black screen.
I've noticed that if I select the Sound Mixer and then play the section between the Trim Markers it works fine i.e. plays up to the second Trim Marker.
Also, it seems that if I create a video of the selected part of the project this works fine too.
I just seem to be getting the problem in Timeline view when I have black video that runs after an mp3. I have checked multiple projects where I have the same effect (fade to black as music ends) and I am getting exactly the same problem. As the sound stops, so does the playback.
Background is that I am new to X3 and struggling. I had problems authoring in X3 so used X2,. Then had a problem with X2 so re-installed. Then found this problem when editing again in X3 so reinstalled X3!
I am not new to this software and have made many videos. The problem is that I got a new computer with Windows 8 and installed X4 VideoStudio. I can hear the sound file when I select the clip but as soon as I select Project, there is no sound. I am currently uninstalling the program and trying to reinstall.

Also note that when fully rendered it does not lag. Even when playing single track lag is noticable. audio, vocal, and title tracks are fine when playing back. Members, I seem to remember when I was running what was back then the Ulead version years ago, and, that it was better to have a second hard drive as a scratch disk for the realtime, or Timeline project playback, the reason I ask, I still suffer some jerky-ness when picking 'Project' in the edit playback window, I do not suffer problems when rendering the project as a final video format.
The Dell spec is the highest I could get, a i7 intel 3.8 processor, 8gig ram, 2tb HD, 1gig Nvidia Gforce GC, Intel HD sound card, with a monitor of 1920x1080 Full HD, the USB is 2.0 (3.0).
If the idea is a sound one, what changes do i make and where in the settings do I make them, also would using a 16 gig Patriot flash dongle be any good, or should I get a bigger HD for the job, either 30 to 60 gig SSD or bigger 7200rpm HD type.
If I playback in fragment mode, the speed is ok. But if I playback in project mode the speed is a little slowing down.
How is this possible ?
I have created a project and have gotton far into it. All of a sudden on playback it stops in the same spot. I tried deleting the frame ans reinserting the picture but nothing seems to work? On previous playbacks along the project creation it didn't stop. Is this a bug?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI don't know why Corel made this program without the ability to change the playback speed in project view. You can only change the speed on each clip. When you have 50 or more clips, this can take all day, when it could take a few seconds if you can do it in project mode.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI downloaded a 20 sec RAW .mts clip taken with a Panasonic TM700. I wanted to test it in VS X3 to see if the program would handle the file.
I noticed that when selecting "Project" to play the file in the preview window that certain elements of the clip look very noisy or overly sharp...Grainy, if you will. Other elements look slightly blurred. The playback seems smooth though.
However, If selecting "Clip" it looks much better. When I drag the sliders to expand the preview window to it's max size, the "Clip" playback looks flawless yet the "Project" playback, while slightly better, still looks less than desirable.

Before I decide to buy this camera, I just want to be sure that X3 can handle the files and that I have a fairly decent grasp of how to properly render the final video. In the mean time, I'll keep editing some sample clips and see how the program handles them. I'll also attempt to render a short film or 2 and see how that goes.
I have few avi video clips which I believe I imported from camcorder using windows moviemaker. When I play those clips in any media player they play fine.
I have latest Corel Video Studio Pro X3. When I import this videos into timeline and play clips sound plays fine but when I play the project there is no audio. Even if I render it there is no sound.
I'm wondering if it is normal for my clips to have jerky preview. I am editing 1080p MOV clips and I've made sure that Smart Proxy is enabled and that the files do exist. Smart Proxy settings are default to activate with any clip that is larger than 720X480. After I've dragged a clip onto the timeline I get jerky preview if I select "clip" and then click play. But if I select "project" it plays smoothly. Scrubbing is also smooth. My question is why are my clips so jerky? It seems that "clip" preview is automatically using the original video file and not the proxy. I'm on a slow computer, but that's not the issue because everything except the individual clips plays smoothly. And yes, the Smart Proxy icon is on my clips and it's had plenty of time to complete the proxy creation. I've even completely removed VS with Revo Uninstaller and reinstalled it. No change.
View 6 Replies View Related X4. I created a 48hz sample rate 24 bit WAV file on my portable Tascam recorder.. I am creating a sales presentation for my invention. I have brought in many different videos I created on my camera and have edited them successfully with single clip and multi clip. Also have been able to split audio out of video. adjust sections using the nodes with the sound mixer.. move audio after split to different areas on the timeline.. However I need to do some voice over work. I figured it would be much easier and better quality for me to use my tascam to create the wav's and then just drop them into the project, edit them and place them where I want them, mute the voice I have on the video..
I was able to bring the .wavs in just fine.. and while editing them in clip mode they play just fine, I can shorten them or cut them where I need too. But when I choose to play back the project with the .wav in one one of the additional sound/music tracks I get very nasty static only. None of my recorded voice is audible. click to clip mode on the wav audio and it plays perfect. I tried moving it to the voice over track area and same exact problem.
am I missing a switch function somewhere? I made sure I muted the video clips above the .wav in the timeline. The manual says to use import option to bring in audio files but I do not see an import button anywhere? missing something? seems to me the drag and drop or add to library a wave file should work.. ??
I used many clips capture from a Sony HD Camorder. Everything's working fine in Video Studio when I do a preview of my project.
My problem is with the exported file ; on some clip, when the clip begin the sound is muted for about 7-8 seconds, After that, the sound come back. I tried to slip the sound from the clip, remove the transition, nothing work.
I updated all the drivers...I tried on an other computer...still the problem.
Describe your problem: Once I've inserted a video file or files into the project timeline, playing the videos with the word "Project" under the screen highlighted, the audio (which is speech only) breaks up - all I hear is parts of words every second or two. Highlighting the term "Clip" just under "Project" provides clear, unbroken audio. This condition is new, first occurring after I installed VideoStudio Pro X3 Fix for MLE Database Incompatibility with PaintShop Photo Pro X3. Since then, I have re-loaded VSX3 and all the patches but to no avail. Note: the same video files can be processed by Windows Live Movie Maker and the audio and video come out fine, even if the effects are primitive.
What devices are involved and their mode of connection?: NONE, files are either in the VS Projects file or in my Videos folder. The Version of program is being used: Video Studio Pro X3. Please list all patches/updates that have been installed relating to that version of the program. I've installed all three patches and updates available on the Corel site (thru the User to User board) plus any updates offered by Corel.

I purchased VideoStudio X5 for HD editing of .MTS clips from my Panasonic HS700 video camera. I transfer the clips to my hard drive using explorer and then use the X5 program to bring them into the library and then to the timeline. Due to my volume problem I re-downloaded VSX5, reinstalled it and installed SP1 patch, updated my Video Card Driver to the latest, updated Direct X and made sure my Microsoft Updates are all up to date.
My Volume problem is, during the editing proces you use both the Project playback and also individual clip playback. Without any manual changes to clip volume, when I play an individual clip the volume is substatially higher than when I play the project over the same clip area. This is annoying to me and those nearby. Earlier versions of VS did not do this.
If I change the individual clip volume up or down from 100% then when I play either the project or individual clip the volume remains the same (ie.it is no longer louder in clip mode).
I'm trying to match the project settings to an imported HD video clip (1920x1080 *.mts).I've been using videoStudio for years but only in 720x480 SD. I just got a Panasonic HDC-SDT750PP HD camera and want to make sure the video output file makes the most out of both camera and X3 but in project settings it only allows 720x480.
Does the project setting have any affect on the final video file?The properties of the video file says 1920x1080 24b H264 yet the source file extension is *.mts
My intention is to create a HD video file that I burn to a Hybrid DVD until I get a Blu-ray burner but what format to save the file in if the X3 project setting only goes to 720x480.
Using X5 pro, a project comprising an introduction and 6 clips was created, with menu. Each clip has its own sound (voice and music). The rendering config included 2 pass conversion and normalise sound checked, for creation of a disk image on an HDD folder. The preview worked fine - vision and sound OK. Because there were multiple disks to be made, the image creation also worked fine, as did the burn disk from iso.
But when the resulting disk was played back after burning, the first clip on it had no sound. Imagery fine, just no sound. It wasn't an isolated case. A repeat try - with particular care to check this aspect, ie sound on the clip, was OK during preview - got the same result in the final disk.
Running Ulead Video studio 10 Plus and have used it well for the last few years, on Windows Vista Home ed. Have put the audio on to the project as i always have and ever had any problems wih it. Now though it will only play the sound when the audio clip is selected and not when project is selected, although the coloured lines move on the mixer in both sourround sound and non-surround sound when project is selected.

I'm trying to import some clips from Avid and the clips are playing back too fast.
In Avid, the clips originated as HDV 1440x1080i 59.94 fps. I transcoded them to DVCPro 1920x1080i 59.94fps. I exported the clips from Avid using "same as source."
In Smoke, I went through the library to select and import the clips. My Smoke Cfg settings are:
30i 1280x720@5994p, project settings 1280x720.
The clips playback as if they are running at 120% (best estimate).
in the Cfg template there are settings that are similar, such as 30i 1280x720@5994p and 1280x720@5994p. Is the "30i" for interlaced footage (ie HDV and uprezed SD)?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have installed Videosudio Pro X5 yesterday and I've encountered a really strange problem.
When I select the movie itself and view it in the preview window it looks fine.
However if I select any individual clip in the library or timeline the preview plays through at high speed. It will play through a 40 second video in less then 2 seconds.
Here's where it gets really weird. If I go into options and change the volume from 100 to 101 it will play at normal speed.It's annoying have to do this everytime I want to play a clip.
I am using VideoStudio Pro X3, and am having a lot of difficulty with the preview window.
When I play the video I have been working on, it runs the video at about 1 frame per second or so, and renders the program useless. The odd thing is, when I select an individual clip and click run, it runs at a proper frame rate.
Is there some sort of codec or driver that I am missing?
When I move the slider VS PRO X 4 gets an unexpected error and closes.Digging around I found the Ultimate version and tried the trial download. It worked for a while and then the application terminated again.
I reloaded X4 Pro and installed SP 1 & 2
I find confusing that the X4 Pro Build number without either SP 1 & 2 is:14.0.0.342
The Build after Sp1 is: 14.1.0.107
The Build after Sp2 is: 14.2.0.23
Then this ULTIMATE version has a build of 14.1.0.150? Looks like the same family and from the same department.
The GUI is also the same no mention of Ultimate - and the Sp's think it is another pgm?
What does the Ultimate do that the Pro X4 does NOT?
I'm trying to work on a project I created a few months ago in Edge. However, when I try to open it in Edge Animate CC, it just displays a blank screen (See image).
The timeline, the canvas, the properties, nothing seems to be populated. If I drag the time line back to 0:00, an alert pops up saying "An error occured. Please save your work and restart Edge Animate." The exported HTML file still seems to work fine though. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling Edge, but that hasn't seemed to work.
EDIT: This seems to be an intermittant problem. Sometimes, the file displays correctly, sometimes it doesn't. If I close the program and open it again, the issue re-occurs.
