In the past using VS10+ I noticed an issue importing sound and music clips. I did import them into my project from my music folder without any problems. The issue is when I deleted the sound and music clip from my folder it disappeared from my video project and I would have to get the clip back into my music folder and keep it in there until I burned a DVD. Is this routine for VS?

View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen I create a new Project I can't browse for new music. I press the Browse key and "Desktop" and "My Computer" come up but when I click on "My Computer" nothing happens.
Browsing works fine when I'm not in Project.
I want to create video clips on top of my bands music. I load the music track just fine. Now I have 10 or so video clips that need to be inserted in certain places on the timeline to be sync'd with the music. But everytime you bring a clip into the video row it automatically locks to the last clip entered. Why can't you place the clips of the artists playing, in the correct place in the timeline? Also isn't there a way to display the audio track as a waveform?

There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason - some of these were converted to my own "5.1 mix" (6 channel audio) using another editor, others are 2 channel audio. They're all 29.97 fps. Bitrates and resolutions vary greatly. Clip lengths are anywhere from 2 minutes minimum to about 5 minutes max. All the files do play in Media Player and Nero, and they stream (without transcoding) to tv thru LG BD player. Other files created/edited exactly the same way can be loaded into VS4. After creation all were run through DIVX Plus Converter for upload to YouTube and I (like a dummy) accidentally deleted the wrong files after upload.
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen I go to render a video that is composed of video clips and an .mp3 music file, I'd like to get the finished file into as big of a file as I can. In order to do that, I select the MPEG-4 option. The good news is it typically will result in an approx file size of 250MB for a 2 1/2 minute video, versus 170MB for any other file extension. The bad news is the audio is full of pops and noise. The audio remains fine with any other option other than MPEG-4.
I've tried numerous ways to 'reconstruct' the file...using different audio file extensions (it seems to prefer .wma files but there is a noticeable drop in clarity), rendering the video only then adding the audio file and rendering again...nothing works. I've also tried to modify the rendering options in each video selection that Corel offers (this is in the window that pops up asking for the file name just before you render it), but the audio never gets better.
How can I reduce the audio volume for all the clips in the project? The original sound from the video clips is just ambient noise. I want to reduce it all by the same amount throughout the project, so that the music I put on the music track will be easier to hear, with the ambient noise being only a soft background. I can't find any control that lets me change the volume for all clips at once, and the documentation isn't very clear.

When I add a clip the sound is ONLY played when volume for the clip is 100% (other value makes the clip mute) and is the clip preview, not the project preview. (project preview plays only the added soundtrack- if there is any).
Even if volume is 100%, when exporting the project, clip sound is muted (only the added soundtrack will sound).
- Of course I have tested several clips, and with or without an additional mp3 soundtrack.
- I also installed the just released VS SP 1, but no changes.
- I export (Share) using Vimeo HD template.
- Problem is not shown if I use VS 11 (which I also has installed).
My system characteristics are in my profile and also here:
- Win 8 pro 64 bits
- Dell Inc. Vostro 3360
- 1.70 gigahertz Intel Core i5-3317U
The clip's properties are:

I've been using X5 to edit a project that has about 20 small clips in it. I've noted that (1st occurrence of this) moving from one clip to the next in the main project timeline, the sound in the next clip just vanishes. Selecting the affected clip individually and then playing confirmed its got sound there.
This was first seen after turning ripple editing on (the little padlock went from open to closed). But various measures did not remove the effect:
- turning ripple editing off
- delecting the affected clip - the next clip in turn was affected by this
- closing X5 without saving the project changes, then re-starting X5 and opening that project. At the same point in the timeline, sound went away.
Is there any known explanation for this, and how can I remove this effect?
I'm using videostudio 4pro... I find that if I apply pic-in-pic on any video clip I can no longer hear the audio when previewing a clip. I have to choose project to hear audio. To hear the audio I must split the audio track from the video track... is this the only way to preview audio for a clip once I apply pic-in-pic?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI bought VideoStudio x5 about 3 weeks ago, there has been a bit of a learning curve but I am starting to get what I want. I still cant figure out one problem. I am screen capturing with another program because well videostudios screen capture doesn't work that well. My program produces AVI's and I bring them into video studio and piece them together. When I piece videos together, it skips for some reason a second or 2 into the second track. I have tried converting to mp4, hdv 720p - 30p (for PC), AVCHD (1820x720 60P), "Same as first video clip" and they all do the same thing. I can add audio file normally but when I mix many clips, I just can hear sound whenever I choose the clip only. If I choose the whole project, the sound will be lost although the background sound still exist.
When I replace X5 by X4, there is no problem. But I prefer X5,
I have noticed that it is possible to overlap sound clips. Just wanting to know does this automatically add fade to the end of the first clips and start of the second clip - my testing could not confirm that. Also is there some documentation on overlapping sound clips as I could not find anything in the handbook.
Also a possible problem I have encountered (I could repeat it too). When I add a video clip to the overlay track at times when I select it (left mouse click) VS Pro X4 appears to FREEZE and I cannot do anything within VS such as select something else. If I then select 'Show Desktop' (from the icon in my quick start bar) and then click anywhere in the desktop and then reselect VS from the bar at the bottom of screen I am returned to VS and it is not in freeze mode again.
If you can use gimp or another (hopefully free) program to insert a music or sound file into an image, or signature say, and have it play when you hover your mouse over it?

Have put the audio on to the project as i always have and ever had any problems wih it. Now though it will only play the sound when the audio clip is selected and not when project is selected, although the coloured lines move on the mixer in both sourround sound and non-surround sound when project is selected.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am exporting dailes clips.We record dual system and there are two different audio levels - on the two different channels.However, when I export a clip from Premiere and set the audio option tol the uncompressed codec it defaults to a "single track" audio layout with no option to change. However, if i change the codec to AAC or any other I am allowed to chose whether I want a single mono track or a stereo track.
Additionally - if that single uncompressed track is an amalgamation of my original two tracks - or if it has just defaulted to one or the other.
I am syncing pictures , effects and video snippets to a song. Why is that when I ever I add a new set of pictures or effect, it moves my music as to make space for it despite using a different layer. Is there a way to lock the music in place as I add more photos and media?
View 9 Replies View RelatedWhen we capture music from CD's in Pro X3, the last few seconds of the songs get cut off. Or the recording skips, cuts out a few seconds of the song right before the end, and then captures the end of the song. It's an intermittent problem with no rhyme nor reason that we can figure out as to which songs are being affected. But once a song has been captured and the end garbled, that same song will always be garbled no matter how many times we delete the recording and recapture it.

I am reducing the Clip volume to 3 (I think that is 3%) and it is still too loud. If I move it down to 2, it is inaudible. Is there another adjustment somewhere? By the way, it's enough to have only ONE channel with ONE type of sound (i.e. music), because then I can extract it and reverse-phase it to (partially) cancel out it's equivalent from the master audio track. It's not perfect but enough.
