I love the inclusion of ProDAD in Corel X4 Ultimate. Some shots we would have binned have been effectively ressurected!
Only gripe is that we make Pal 50i Blurays and I hate having to render things twice.
So for that reason we normally output at 50i and simply add to Nero and it can very quickly author and burn these files with almost no rendering.
We cannot output at 50i with ProDad Mercalli inserted onto our clips. It will certainly render the timeline but it comes up with a horrible darkened screen over the shot which has had Mercalli added to it. It says that the clip needs to be analysed again. The clips have already been analysed and we have no problems rendering at 25p. Is there a work around for this or our Corel addressing this issue? I know that Mercalli in other video editing software has the ability to manipulate interlaced shots but I thought it wouldn't matter for rendering.
I am getting this across the screen on every video that I use Mercalli on. Not to mention horrible lock up's and slow operation.I was so fed up last night that I dumped my entire PC and loaded WIN 7 and all its updates and then VSX4.Still I am getting the same behaviour. I run the filter and it goes through its little screen of adjusting the clip based on the settings used.But I still get this warning on the final project even though the analysis WAS run. I was able to get it to work with an upload to Youtube (.flv) but anything to Disc gives the warning.Also found that VSX4 crashes if you try and save to video folders as well as burn the disk.Now that I think about this it all seemed to start after the last Windows updates. I'm running WIN 7 X64 Home Premium
I recently installed X4 Ultimate which comes with the proDAD Mercolli SE image stabilizer plugin. The problem I'm having is after I apply proDAD to a video clip and burn it to a disc or video file, an error message is displayed over the scene in the clip telling me I need to run proDAD's analysis mode again.
I've tried deleting the video filter by clicking on the X to the right of the filter box. It goes away indicating the proDAD filter was deleted properly. Then I reapply the proDAD plugin filter. The proDAD analysis mode runs OK and the final image stabilized result runs correctly INSIDE the VS editor. BUT when I have VS render an MP2 video file or DVD file with project content that has a clip with the proDAD filter applied, the proDAD error message appears telling me to re-analyze the clip.
I have been having the dreaded Mercalli re-analysed message and found a thread that described how to render just the clip first and then insert into the project. I have just a few short SD clips in my project, the rest are standard jpg's. I rendered the short video clip with Mercalli and then inserted that clip into the final project. The only settings that seem to work reliably (in rendering the small clip) are HDV720p HDV and WMV. Other settings still produce a clip with the Mercalli message on it. Why though is the rendered clip smaller on the screen than the original? When it is inserted in the project timeline, it plays with black borders all around it like it is in a window instead of full screen. I'm happy to get rid of the Mercalli message, but not too thrilled about this break in continuity of the project by having shrunken images.
I've installed all the software and I can use the Boris FX as i can find it in the effects list and drag it on to a clip. However i Can't see Mercalli in the list or find anyway of accessing it from Video Studio
NB I've checked the ProDAD folder that installed and it's only 15mb in size and the .corel folder is empty
My problem is that I cannot access the proDADMercalli or Boris Graffiti features in VSP X4 Ultimate. I uninstalled a previous version of VSP X4 before installing VSP X4 Ultimate and made sure the files proDADMercalli20Corel|4.vft and the Boris Graffiti.vft files were in the appropriate folder for Corel VideoStudio Pro X4 in my 64 bit W7 system.
Just to make sure, I followed the Corel instructions and re-installed the files in the folder in question to ensure that they had not been corrupted. I still cannot find the features in the FX menu.
I am using Video Studio Pro X5. Is there any way to create interlaced wmv contents? I can create interlaced mpeg2 files but could not create interlaced wmv. Will upgrade to Pro X6 would work?
Whichever video format I have on the timeline or in the batch converter, I never can find a setting to create interlaced MOV video's with VSX3. Is this correct?
I have had this product for about a week and it is fabulous compared to any other video editors I have tested.
There is something odd happening, however. I am using the Mercalli plug-in to stabilize hand-held videos. This works great but the rendered video always has a message overlaid saying the Mercalli analysis must be re-run (even if it has just been done). There IS an exception: render to mpeg4 and everything's fine - stabilization has been applied and no message. If I then take the exact same project (no changes) and render into AVCHD (for example), the output is ruined with the overlay. If I go back into the project again to have a look at what's up re-analysis is NOT called for.
Corel VideoStudio Pro X6. The file is made in H.264 Video M2T ( large ) , in the DVD - mismatch-Sound !!!. If an MPEG-2 , the output DVD OK !?
VStudio X6 : there are 2 of the same file , 1 made in H.264 Video M2T (20000 bit) ( 1 hour ), 2 to MPEG-2 Video M2T (20000 bit)( 1 hour ) . When recording to DVD - 1 file ( H.264 ) - in DVD is sync sound , if 2 ( MPEG-2), then the DVD is fine . Why do so with the format - H.264 Video M2T ?
Should I in fact select / have selected Lower Field First or is Frame Based OK? Is it safer / more reliable to select Lower Field First if that's the format of the source files? The videos seem to look OK on my laptop - don't know about Vimeo.
How can I determine if a png, created in photoshop, is interlaced?I have about 10 png files I need to check. Sure I could just re-save them for web and make them all interlaced,
but I don't want to lose image quality by going through this process again if it is unnecesary (because they are already interlaced).
I've got this problem where my text is dissapearing when I export a .PDF from PS. Some of the text dissapears and some is white with a thin outline (although it should just be solid black). I've read other things online from people with this problem but none of the solutions work for me. If I rasterise the text it works - but i don't want it rasterised.
- I'm not using Faux Bold or other effects - I've tried with different fonts including Arial and Helvetica - Tried changing the colour slightly - Tried changing opacity slightly - opened a new document with only text and it still does it.
I think it is only happening when i use a text box (dragging the text tool to make box rather than a single click)I've got Creative Cloud and PS is up to date. Working on a rMBP OSX10.8.4
Just installed x5 and the only thing is abouit outputting spot colors. I check the box to output seperations, uncheck all the colors I don't want to print - but I still get all the colors printed out, including my page color. I have made SURE that I have only checked the steps I want printed and still get all of the colors printed!
when im out putting html from photoshop after slicing im getting these odd spacer.gif slices created but cant trace them any where to the psd they just dont exsist.
I have a camera move in action to move between a couple of still images. This is going into an interlaced programme so I'd like the move to be interlaced (50i). Currently the ouput is rendering progressive frames and I can't see how to change this within cfx/action.
I'm having problems with progressive videos that look interlaced after exporting full size.The videos look fine within PP; when the same sequence is exported using You-Tube and Vimeo settings there is no interlacing.
I have several closed ployline shapes in a particular layer, I need to know a way to:
a) pick all the entites on that layer
b) export to a dxf file each individual entity on the layer (yes, each entity saved to a separate dxf)
I am almost positive I can answer 'a' on my own using an object collection and a conditional statement? I am really more interested in how to export an entity from current open drawing to a dxf file in .net
I created a stereoscopic timeline in Smoke. That seems to work so far, but now I want to output it in full resolution on a 3D TV (Samsung). The TV only supports HDMI in.
I'm working on a Smoke for Mac 2012 with a NVIDIA Quadro 4000 (which has 1xDVI and 2x Display Ports). And we have the AJA Kona 3G (SDI out and mini HDMI). We have a reference monitor which is connected via SDI and that works.
We tried to connect the Mac via mini HDMI to HDMI. We did get a signal from Final Cut Pro, but we didn't get a signal out of Smoke.
I tried all kinds of settings, but there is no way of outputting an image from Smoke. What options do we have, so we can get a 3D signal out?
I heard that Smoke for Mac doesn't support Dual SDI out. Is that right? Would it work to simply buy a converter from SDI to HDMI? Would I still get full res HD out then?

I had an action set up in CS5 that I used to create different size versions of a file.It involved pasting a full size image into PS, then running the action to create two smaller sizes.
I updated to CS6 today, lost my action , and whenever I create the same action in CS6 instead of overwriting the existing set of .jpgs in the target folder, it's creating html files!
After using Refine Edge in CS5.5 and removing the background from an image, I set it to output as a new layer mask. Next I place the image on top of a background and see that it needs some additional adjustments. How do I now get back to the Refine Edge window where I can see the changes I made previously and modify some of the settings? When I reopen the Refine Edge window the settings from before are no longer there.
I have VSX5 Ultimate perfectly runnng on my Vista desktop and on my W7 32bit laptop. I am now setting up a new 64bit W7 desktop PC. I installed VSX5 Ultimate on it, but strange enough, it all seems OK but there is no QT (.mov) file export selection available anymore. Not in the batch converter output formats list, nor on the custum video file sharing list. Am I missing something? I already intalled the latest Quictime version.
Sometime ago I almost filled a standard DVD with jpeg images as a slideshow created in VS 11+.I am now wondering if I can transfer the slideshow to a usb stick.If this is possible, what is the best way.I want to be able to display the slideshow on a laptop,digital photo frame and or TV which have usb connections.
I recently bought CVS X4 and new hardware to my computer (i5 2500k @4.2GHz, 8GB ram, SSD hard drive, 2x2xRAID etc).
I was suprised to see that when I'am trying to render a HD (1920x1080) file with no compression its taking A LOT of time and not so much of my computer powers;) CPU use is around 5% on all cores when I'am rendering the movie:/ I feel like it should be faster and use more CPU:< how to speed it up?:)
how VS handles files recorded at 30fps when the settings and final product will be PAL. Some smaller / cheaper cameras only offer 30 fps. Does this make VS work harder?
