Is there a way to re-execute the video analysis of the Mercalli filter without having to actually remove the filter and reapply it to the video clip?
I can't seem to find an easy way without removing the filter.
I have had this product for about a week and it is fabulous compared to any other video editors I have tested.
There is something odd happening, however. I am using the Mercalli plug-in to stabilize hand-held videos. This works great but the rendered video always has a message overlaid saying the Mercalli analysis must be re-run (even if it has just been done). There IS an exception: render to mpeg4 and everything's fine - stabilization has been applied and no message. If I then take the exact same project (no changes) and render into AVCHD (for example), the output is ruined with the overlay. If I go back into the project again to have a look at what's up re-analysis is NOT called for.
I am getting this across the screen on every video that I use Mercalli on. Not to mention horrible lock up's and slow operation.I was so fed up last night that I dumped my entire PC and loaded WIN 7 and all its updates and then VSX4.Still I am getting the same behaviour. I run the filter and it goes through its little screen of adjusting the clip based on the settings used.But I still get this warning on the final project even though the analysis WAS run. I was able to get it to work with an upload to Youtube (.flv) but anything to Disc gives the warning.Also found that VSX4 crashes if you try and save to video folders as well as burn the disk.Now that I think about this it all seemed to start after the last Windows updates. View 4 Replies View RelatedI've installed all the software and I can use the Boris FX as i can find it in the effects list and drag it on to a clip. However i Can't see Mercalli in the list or find anyway of accessing it from Video Studio
NB I've checked the ProDAD folder that installed and it's only 15mb in size and the .corel folder is empty
I have been having the dreaded Mercalli re-analysed message and found a thread that described how to render just the clip first and then insert into the project. I have just a few short SD clips in my project, the rest are standard jpg's. I rendered the short video clip with Mercalli and then inserted that clip into the final project. The only settings that seem to work reliably (in rendering the small clip) are HDV720p HDV and WMV. Other settings still produce a clip with the Mercalli message on it. Why though is the rendered clip smaller on the screen than the original? When it is inserted in the project timeline, it plays with black borders all around it like it is in a window instead of full screen. I'm happy to get rid of the Mercalli message, but not too thrilled about this break in continuity of the project by having shrunken images.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently installed X4 Ultimate which comes with the proDAD Mercolli SE image stabilizer plugin. The problem I'm having is after I apply proDAD to a video clip and burn it to a disc or video file, an error message is displayed over the scene in the clip telling me I need to run proDAD's analysis mode again.
I've tried deleting the video filter by clicking on the X to the right of the filter box. It goes away indicating the proDAD filter was deleted properly. Then I reapply the proDAD plugin filter. The proDAD analysis mode runs OK and the final image stabilized result runs correctly INSIDE the VS editor. BUT when I have VS render an MP2 video file or DVD file with project content that has a clip with the proDAD filter applied, the proDAD error message appears telling me to re-analyze the clip.
I recently had a senior moment, sigh. I ended up deleting my video 5 ultimate . I finally installed it back again, For some reason, x4 samplesvideoPo3 UVP files doesn't exist. Actually I had Studio prox5,prior to buying the ultimate program. I also have problems with my auto music, cant find those files. I didn't think that I had the files from pro X 5. still in my computer, Is it possible to reinstall the prox5 and the missing files will be back where they should be?

Looking at the web page and box photo for the X5 version of the bundle, it seems to now include only the non-Ultimate versions.
Confirm that the Photo/Video Bundle X5 has been lowered to the Penultimate versions?
I have just put together a 20min video and have several times created an mpeg file on the hard drive as I edit different parts, so that I can see how it comes along on a main TV thats networked to my PC. The footage is from two Panasonic HD cameras and is filmed in AVCHD.
The last two copies I have rendered have 4 scenes with noticeable jumps/stutter. They are all taken from and are part of a clip 146, the music track dosent jump, just certain parts of the scene in the video. This jumping is intermittent in about 30 seconds and the rest of the 20min film is fine. No filters or adjustments have been made to these scenes and they were fine up until yesterday. I tried a second render but its the same.
I would like to know what causes it so I can either avoid this happening again or avoid VS altogether as I have put in a lot of time and work into this 20min video and I don't want to have to do it again, I really want something I can rely on. I have had VS from the very earliest version and I have found that these bugs keep cropping up.
UPDATE:I have done further tests and it is ok if I "Create Video file" Same as Project Settings" BUT if I "Create Video file" DVD Video" it stutters/jumps. I have attached the properties of the scene now.
Most of the footage is Panasonic AVCHD and I use Two Pass Encode. Am I using the correct settings for this type of film. I want to film in the highest quality so that I can copy to blue ray and standard DVD.
My project settings are:

PAL (25 fps)
MPEG files
24 bits, 720 x 576, 25 fps
Upper Field First
(DVD-PAL), 16:9
Video data rate: Variable (Max. 8264 kbps)
LPCM Audio, 48000 Hz, Stereo

My problem is that I cannot access the proDADMercalli or Boris Graffiti features in VSP X4 Ultimate. I uninstalled a previous version of VSP X4 before installing VSP X4 Ultimate and made sure the files proDADMercalli20Corel|4.vft and the Boris Graffiti.vft files were in the appropriate folder for Corel VideoStudio Pro X4 in my 64 bit W7 system.
Just to make sure, I followed the Corel instructions and re-installed the files in the folder in question to ensure that they had not been corrupted. I still cannot find the features in the FX menu.
I love the inclusion of ProDAD in Corel X4 Ultimate. Some shots we would have binned have been effectively ressurected!
Only gripe is that we make Pal 50i Blurays and I hate having to render things twice.
So for that reason we normally output at 50i and simply add to Nero and it can very quickly author and burn these files with almost no rendering.
We cannot output at 50i with ProDad Mercalli inserted onto our clips. It will certainly render the timeline but it comes up with a horrible darkened screen over the shot which has had Mercalli added to it. It says that the clip needs to be analysed again. The clips have already been analysed and we have no problems rendering at 25p. Is there a work around for this or our Corel addressing this issue? I know that Mercalli in other video editing software has the ability to manipulate interlaced shots but I thought it wouldn't matter for rendering.
If there are any 3D plugins that will work on Pro x6 Ultimate . I've had a look at the VIDEO COPILOT | Element 3D - 3D Object based Particle Plug-in. It lists a lot of programs it will work with but not Corel.

the older version used to have close to 40 transitions, but the new one even with the extra download pack still only 3 transitions.. did something not get installed?
I'm having a real problem with VS X4 pro crashing!Ive just started a project I have a video in the toptrack..I've used a instant project the one selected in yellow all seems fine! I move the text from the instant project & select a Title text effect
Preview it all is well! Now change the text from LOREM to Dublin IPSUM to 2012..Change other text & 9 time out of 10 VS4 crashes when i preview the Project.If i don't use the Title text effect it seems fine!I just reinstalled my OS (windows 7 64bit) it will be somthing Ive missed but ???
How long Corel take to send out disc? Im waiting for a VS5 Pro ultimate? i bought VS4 a couple of weeks before they released VS5 & Corel done a deal!
Since downloading the new version I have ran across a display issue. When editing, all of the popup display boxes are too large and extend under my taskbar. I have tried everything such as changing the monitor's screen resolution to nearing every setting. And I have searched and attempted to come up with a fix from with in the preferences, UI layout, etc.

I am using WIN 8 have 16 GB of ram, Have Blue Ray burner and Quad Core CPU. I have checked and Burner's firmware is up to date Same for Videostudio 15. It has all the updates and patches installed.
I've tried installing the purchased downloaded version of the software to two different Windows 7 64 machines and installation just stops on the first screen. "Next" never becomes active. Corel told me to delete my temp files and I've done that, to no avail. I had the same thing happen with the trial version and just figured that they would have fixed the for sale version.
Is there a cleaning or prep patch for this one?
I am running Vid Studio Pro X4 and am 3 months into a year long project. I was interested in upgrading to Vid Studio X6 Ultimate but wanted to know if X6 will be able to read and properly load the .vsp file for this project which already has many clips, transitions, effects, and audio. Or, should I just stay with X4 until December when my project is finished and then upgrade starting next year's project fresh.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've been a Corel Video Studio user for almost 10 years and never ran into this issue. When creating a disc (DVD or Blu Ray), I get an error message while the program is "converting the menues" for burning to blank disc. The message reads "convert step got some problems (257.0.0)". Figuring that something got corrupted, I closed the program and rebooted the computer. I then again set up the menues I wanted to use only to get the same error message. I then decided to burn a previous project that I knew to be successful and it burned properly. I then decided to create a new project using the same video files and menus that previously failed. That too proved to be unsuccessful. I went to Corel's website but there was no info available covering my error message.

When I set the capture to custom and then drag the frame/window or whatever you call it around the section I want to capture it always captures too high and then cuts off bottom. If I capture in full screen is there a crop feature?
The things I want to capture have a window within the full page and I am trying to capture just the window, ie. a Youtube or any other web based video. the dragghing custom isn't working and I see not crop option.
A project I'm working on needs Speech Bubbles with text in them. I Couldn't find this option anywhere.So I started creating the bubbles in PSP x4 and overlaying them in.This works but its a pain when you need 100 of them.Is there an easier way builtin to VideoStudio X4 Ultimate that I can use.

Now that I installed it, I need to find where they hide everything.
I found the Mercalli filter for the "shake, rattle and roll" stuff but I haven't found the "Auto Exposure" stuff and I need to turn down the exposure of this video I am working on (lots of light flares). From the above description/paragraph, I would have though the exposure stuff was under Mercalli, but I haven't found it.
how proDad wasn't visible. Looking through the X5 install folders, I see a bunch of New Blue filters not visible either. The attached image shows the filters in the vft_plug folder, that aren't available within the program.

I am running XP and X5 Ultimate.My workflow follows :
File
Insert media file to library
Insert Digital media
Select drive in import from digital media box
Start
Then the screen goes black and the PC reboots with an error report box showing. The DVD has a UDF file system and it is 2.32GB and plays in Power DVD OK.
Have VideoStudio X4 Ultimate.I have a major issue here and sure hope this is user error - otherwise it would be a major drawback for me.
How can I move a clip or a picture in a certain way.An example:I want it to move in from the left side small, while going to the middle get bigger, then rotate 180° and continue to move it in the upper right corner.
