Jul 24, 2011I just wondered if there's a way to get Video Studio 11.5 to capture video from your PC screen?
I ask because I've been trying to find a free program to do this (not having any money for stuff like Camtasia) when I remembered that I had Ulead Video Studio 11.5 - and I hoped that could do this instead.
Can it? If it can, can it also record audio at the same time? (I have a headset with Microphone)

Jun 25, 2012I cannot record into a HP laptop with win7. VX3using. I can do it with another one using Vista. What could the problem be? Using Canon HV 20. What sould the setting be? It plays and I can control the camera with VX3. But after I test for 30 seconds it says "cannot save file corrupt" or somethong to that effect.

Dec 29, 2011In Video Studio X3, it seems impossible to paste text copied from another program onto a Title page. I want to do this since I have 16 stanzas of poetry that I want to insert, each on its own page, or story board.
If in fact I cannot paste text, is there a format that I can use to save each stanza on a page separately in another program that I can import into one part of this program? Maybe in a particular file extension as a snapshot, video, etc.?
It would seem ridiculous to not be able to import a text document. Do I have to type everything out from scratch?
VideoStudio :: Upgraded From X3 To X4 - Program Just Won't Start
Jul 11, 2011Just upgraded from X3 to X4 & have found that X4 won't start -- I get an immediate Windows error: "Corel VideoPro has stopped working." I tried running as administrator with the same result.
Installation seemed to go fine & reboot went fine . . . the program just won't start (although X3 continues to run as normal).
Let's see . . . Vista Ultimate 32-bit, 4 GB RAM, 2.67 GHz Intel Core2 Quad Q6700, 8-10 TB hard drive space, NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTX graphics card.
VideoStudio :: DVD Burner Is In Use For Another Program Error
Aug 21, 2012I was using VideoStudio 4 for about a year, then upgraded to 5 Ultimate last week. Was in the middle of a project when I upgraded, and decided to burn a DVD last night.
DVD burner is in use for another program error (or something like that)
I've never had this error in my life, and I've been using the same laptop for about 3 years, with 2 or 3 versions of VideoStudio.
Should I just uninstall 5? Or can I "restore" my computer back to two weeks ago?
The file I was working on, I also saved as a VideoStudio 4 file in case 5 doesn't work.
I didn't uninstall 4 before loading 5. I tried to uninstall 4 last night, but it didn't uninstall all the way. Maybe if I reload 4, then uninstall it?
I can't think of any programs that use the burner that I use on that machine either.
I really need to make a DVD by saturday--it's my fiancee's bridal shower. The one I tried to make last night was to test it and make sure it worked on my future sister-in-law's TV before the shower. But that didn't happen unfortunately.
VideoStudio :: Program Simply Does Not Open
May 8, 2011Program simply does not open. Thus I can not get a serial number. And you can not post a question on the web site without it. I did register the product, but my account only shows the Corel Paint program not the Video one. Both came bundled with my laptop.
Now I have more videos I want to edit. So I tried to use Video Studio and it does not open nor give any warning messages, as to why not.

Dec 11, 2012I installed a trial version of Pro X5 with Windows 7. Almost every time I try to capture video it crashes.
Camera is a Sony HDR-HC5E. The only format I am offered is MPEG. Sometimes it begins to capture, other times there is no picture on screen and nothing is captured, most times I get a NOT RESPONDING warning and Video Studio just freezes. Sometimes it works but very rarely!. I have reloaded X5 three times.

Mar 26, 2011After successfully using VideoStudio X2 for quite a while now, I’ve just updated VideoStudio X4.
My laptop meets the minimum specifications, however, I have just one problem with X4.
I can output to every file format including HD, but if I choose the 3D option, anaglyph or side by side, the program “crashes“.
I get 'the program has encountered an unspecified error and has stopped functioning' and 'the memory could not be read' errors. Both messages show 3 times each. The program will eventually close when I’ve OK’d all six messages.
I’ve tried different lengths of video, from short to long, but it makes no difference.
I don’t plan on doing loads of 3D videos, just the occasional short one for fun. Even though I find red/blue 3D video tiresome to watch, I would like to have a fully functioning program as everything else on X4 works like a dream.
VideoStudio :: Proxy Files Disappear Between Program Uses?
Oct 1, 2010I've been doing some MTS editing for my boss, and have been using the proxy file feature as my PC doesn't run the videos properly without using DXVA (would be a nice feature, by the way. my media players use DXVA just fine but VideoStudio won't let me use it's hardware acceleration.)
Anyway, when I finish up for a day and save my project, render the final files, and close out the program, my proxy files get deleted by the next time I load it up. I can use these still, as I often need to go back to change things in the edit, and remaking them every time is kind of a waste of time. Is there a setting somewhere I am missing, or does VideoStudio just always delete these files when it decides to? I'd like to keep them around and have them selectable and usable as long as I say, not how long as it says.
VideoStudio :: Pro X3 - Creating MPEG-4 HD Crashes Program
May 14, 2011I have a project with only photos (about 200) and 3 songs. Total length is about 16min. I have successfully created a .MPG (2.3GB) and .WMA (474MB) HD files.
My problem is when I create a MPEG-4 HD files. It kept crashing the program while "Creating File..."
Error message, "The program has encountered an unspecified error and has stopped functioning. Please contact Corel Technical Support and send the dump file for analysis."
I tried another project with photos and music only and encountered the same problem. Shortening the project yielded the same (one song and a few pictures).
I tried using "Custom" and using the HD settings resulted in the same error. Nothing works.
My patches are up to date. How to create Hi Def movie files that I can playback with and Apple computer (Quicktime).

Aug 18, 2013I recently upgraded to Studio X6 and downloaded service pack 1. I had this same problem with X4, and was in hopes X6 would eliminate it.
I open a project and I want to add a jpeg image, so I drill down to the folder where the file is located and it hangs there with the little blue circle going around, and no files appear and I get a message "Not Responding" I I must close the program or wait for it to respond, which it never does.

Sep 19, 2011i have the Pro version (purchased) with SP 1 (VS X4) But i have one error all the time, it crashes at exit, all the time.
I cleaned up temp folders, run disk cleaner in windows, run CCleaner and other utils.I also deleted all registry entries to VS X4 i could find, reinstalled VS X4 with SP1, but same problem.

I can add it to individual images but i'm not sure how to add the effect over a series of say 300 images so that it's a smooth motion?

Feb 10, 2013I'm on Windows 7 (both home and Pro workstations). I cannot pick more than one file and insert to video palette. I can insert individually. This is for all file types (.mov, .wmv., etc). It inserts the files as "uvs100215-004.mpg" "uvs100215-002.mpg" but when I hit 'OK' it says 'unable to find file'. This used to work. I have tried to remove the quotations, insert period, semi colon to no avail.
