How can I increase the size of the sound wave in the time line. When I use the zoom tool to increase the size, it increases in width but not height and I need to see the wave in a larger view regarding editing and syncing etc. Using x4

I downloaded the trial version of Video Studio X6 to compare with my current Camtasia 7. I did a screen capture and saved it as a mp4 format. Now that I put it in VS, I can see and hear the recording in the preview, but in the timeline, I only see the video track and wmv. Where is the audio track for that recording?
I found it hidden until I clicked on Graphic > Voice Track.
Any way to remove background noise? I know it is feasible in Camtasia. I assume it is also feasible in VS, but where and how?
I downloaded the trial version of VideoStudio 4 Pro to try it out and I like the interface and the ease of use. My problem is that when I capture MPEG 4 files in the timeline and go to replay them, the sound and video are very choppy and the replay skips the whole way through.
I converted the MPEG 4 files to wmv, and the video was smooth but I lost some of the image clarity in the converting process. I don't think it's my computer because the MPEG 4 files play nicely on MediaPlayer - just not on VideoStudio.
I am using photos for a slideshow. How do you resize a photo or video on the overlay track to the exact size on the timeline? I know you can use the resize handles but is there a faster way?

Have put the audio on to the project as i always have and ever had any problems wih it. Now though it will only play the sound when the audio clip is selected and not when project is selected, although the coloured lines move on the mixer in both sourround sound and non-surround sound when project is selected.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just purchased a portable audio recorder, a Zoom H1, to replace the built-in microphones on my JVC video camera. I did this to be able to improve the audio component of my finished videos. I planned on using the audio wave form display that shows up when you activate the Sound Mixer component of VideoStudio. I am recording in .wav file format, as I read previously on this board that VideoStudio works better with wave files than with MP3's. When I put the wave files onto the timeline, and activate the Sound Mixer, It says it is loading the sound data, but does not display the complete wave form info. I have tried recordings made at different qualities, with varying results, as follows:
44 Khz 16 bit - does not display any wave form data
44 Khz 24 bit - displays wave form for part of the file, but not all
48 Khz 16 bit - does not display any wave form data
48 Khz 24 bit - displays wave form for part of the file, but not all
Just for grins, I tried the same audio files in VS X4, same thing. Maybe I'll play with MP3 format files, just to see what happens.
As I mentioned above, I tried recording a file on the Zoom H1 in .mp3 format. The audio properties, as repported by VideoStudio were 44 Khz, 16 bit, 192 Kbps. This file was accepted by VideoStudio with no problems displaying the complete wave form for the complete file. Which it did not do for the .wav files created by the same recorder. I will do a complete test on Sunday, when I will try recording our church service as an .mp3 and videoing the service and see how it works with syncing the two files.

View 2 Replies View Related I have X4 Pro, X5 and X6 Ultimate installed on my computer; as well as, a few older versions of ULead software. I keeping getting this message: "device error. Cannot open the wave-in device" every time I try to use the microphone option in X6 to try and narrate my video.
The microphone option works fine in X5...
The trouble is I am using the track motion option from X6 in my video, so I cannot open the video in X5. Is it some sort of driver problem, or is there a corrupt file that needs replacing etc...

I have a jpeg of an image that I will have to increase roughly 140% for a final print size of 16"x20". I am creating the final design in InDesign, but am editing the image in Photoshop first. My question is what's the best way to increase the size of the jpeg first in Photoshop (I assume) so that when I bring it into InDesign it is maximized in terms of resolution but not so large that the file size prohibitive for sending.
I've already cropped the image, but haven't adjusted any of the sizes. The dimensions are currently: 3233 pixels x 2586 pixels, and 10.777 in x 8.62 in at 300 pixels per inch.
Do I bring it into InDesign this way or increase the document size first in Photoshop?If I increase the size in Photoshop, I assume I should resample the image. If I do, that increases the pixel dimensions and file size to over 82.4M. Is there a way to keep the 300 ppi resolution while reducing the file size?
