I need to enlarge without loosing quality. Just like you can do with "nearest neighbour" ...
I have a jpeg of an image that I will have to increase roughly 140% for a final print size of 16"x20". I am creating the final design in InDesign, but am editing the image in Photoshop first. My question is what's the best way to increase the size of the jpeg first in Photoshop (I assume) so that when I bring it into InDesign it is maximized in terms of resolution but not so large that the file size prohibitive for sending.
I've already cropped the image, but haven't adjusted any of the sizes. The dimensions are currently: 3233 pixels x 2586 pixels, and 10.777 in x 8.62 in at 300 pixels per inch.
Do I bring it into InDesign this way or increase the document size first in Photoshop? If I increase the size in Photoshop, I assume I should resample the image. If I do, that increases the pixel dimensions and file size to over 82.4M. Is there a way to keep the 300 ppi resolution while reducing the file size?
to make a image larger without making it all pixilized?

This is how I have done it: image > image size > check "resample image" > select "bicubic smoother" > set my dimensions.
n CS3 I could change the size of thumbnails to be large, but in CS5 it only allows me to do that from the upper bar (left side top). I can barely see the brush imags on the palette (right side). How do I change them also? Here are the two screenshots showing how dramatically different the sizes are. In CS3 I could adjust them with the down arrow on the palette, but that option is not available on CS5. (See 3rd and 4th screenshot of cs3 versus cs5.) CS3 has "large thumbnail option).
View 1 Replies View RelatedIs there a way to increase the size of the "Lens Flare" sample? I tried to set a couple of lens flares on a pic I'm working on, but the sample is so small I cannot see where the flare is winding up until I click ok and the flare shows on the pic (and is a mile off)
I need to see if there is a way to either enlarge the 'sample' or get the flare to show on the pic so I an see where to place it exactly. I've found several other 'sample(s)' windows are far too small to do any good... surely there has to be some way to enlarge them?
Or at least to get the Flare to show on the big pic like some of the other filters do as you use them.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am myself a photoshop student and I wanna learn about graphic designs, currently Iam working to create pamphlets for an organization.maybe some of you know that for creating brochures you need to set 300 resolution of your image,So only and only high resolution images can be used for this, and we cant find high resolution images easily but that random images which we preserve are mostly workable so that images which Iam trying to use in my brochures are mostly 500/300 px or maximum I may find 800/600 px which is not enough, I at least need to have 1600/1200 px images for a pamphlet I know we mostly use IMAGE SIZE to enlarge the image but as much as we enlarge the image size, the quality becomes more poor that's what the problem is so I wanna know if there is any method of increasing size of the image without losing it's quality,
View 7 Replies View RelatedIn converting a flat rgb jpg to an eps via Save As… the file size increases to basically uncompressed size. I thought eps files could contain jpg format. Has that changed?
I also notice eps files are no longer supported when clipping paths to InDesign. Is eps file type being deprecated?
I want to use artistic filters to get painting-like effects on some photos, but when I'm working with large image files at 300 lpi all of the brush strokes are way too small. How can I increase the size of the brushes in the artistic filters? I've tried downsizing the photos, applying the effects, then upressing; but I get pixelization.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'd have thought (since this has been a problem since 9 and that HD displays are fairly common now) it would have been addressed. I still can't find a way to increase the font size in PE 11, though. Am I missing something? It seems the menu fonts have increased in size in proportion to what Windows font size I'm using, but all the other fonts in PE 11 are still too tiny to read meaning (unless I am missing something) the software is still unusable (unless I sacrifice resolution).
