I'm starting my first project and I've added a song but it cuts off halway through when I play preview. How do I increase the timeline to allow the song to play to completion?

I am inside a symbol "oneAnimation". At the end of the animation "backBtn1" appears. Inside this button, I have added an event on click. I want the stage timeline to play from the label "startNumber" when this button inside the symbol is clicked.
So far it's not jumping back to the main time line.
sym.getComposition().getStage().play("startNumber");
How can I increase the size of the sound wave in the time line. When I use the zoom tool to increase the size, it increases in width but not height and I need to see the wave in a larger view regarding editing and syncing etc. Using x4
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have tried a coule of times to add photos to a new project, to make a slideshow. In one case I added some transitions just to see how they look. Then I click on the PLAY button, nothing happens. I've tried it a coule of times, saving under different filenames. What gives? in one case I rendered the file, no difference.
A big waste of time so far. I did convert some video clips from a .mov format and the worked fine on almost any DVD player but I I am trying to make a slideshow for a web page and nothing is working.
I have an animation in Edge, and I'm trying to make a button that can play the timeline for a specified amount of time and then stop, without the aid of labels. So, I figured if i set the button to sym.getSymbol("mysymbol").play(500); it would make the timeline of that symbol play for 500 milliseconds each time the button is clicked, but it is not working, as this makes the whole thing simply start playing at 500ms. So I then tried adding a stop action after this:
sym.getSymbol("mysymbol").play();
sym.getSymbol("mysymbol").stop(500);
But this didn't work, because I guess since these events are one after the other, it doesn't wait 500 seconds to stop, and it reads stop(500) immediately after the play instruction, so that didn't work either. I'm pretty new to javascript, but I've been really trying to learn it along with the Edge API for a couple weeks now and still can't seem to solve this problem.
I have created an animation with Adobe Edge. My site uses Concrete5 and I am pulling in the Edge content into an IFRAME on my home page. I want the animation to play from the start when someone first visits the site, but if during their browser session they navigate back to the home page, I want the animation to only play a shorter segment of frames near the end.
My question is, how do I use cookies to acheive this? I'm new to javascript/jquery.

On revisting the homepage, I only want to play from when the green button drops in.
I cannot play the ram preview, when I click the button the image gets flipped and frozen. I can scrub the timeline and see the animation I am working on, but I need a real-time preview. I downloaded the last after effects patch for mavericks, but I think this is an issue with the Iris Pro graphics card.

I have a simple Cinema 4D 3D animation created with C4D R14. I successfully brought it into AE CC via Cineware.However, it is not clear how to make it play in AE. It plays well in C4D. But, I can't get it to play in AE.
I rendered a file from render queue choosing outpuit module h.264
It all seem to work fine but when i try to play the rendered file error occurs - depending on video player - some player wont play the file one is showing time of video 00:00 but plays it in media player (windows) it is showing 23:40:00 although file is 3:11... simply rendered file is not working -

The timeline ( or whatever the thing is called where the time ruler thing is) only shows my original composition and i want to switch to the other so i can add the music file. How do i do this? i have tried dragging the copy next to the original comp.

I scroll through my video and the picture get's picelated and I see it loading the frame. Is this hardware sided or can I do something inside the software?

View 7 Replies View RelatedIt is possible to duplicate/copy a clip/gap effect on the timeline? Or do you *have to* drag/copy it to a Source Area first? In this particular case, I've got 3 gap effects that I'm essentially using as adjustment layers...for some reason I thought I could hold down F & drag them somewhere else in the timeline which would create a duplicate and drag them to wherever I dropped them. But maybe not...? In the meantime, I just copied them to a Source Area, and then dropped them back on the timeline where I needed them, which worked just fine.

Also when I ad a filter such as Lens Correction, it only lasts for a few frames..How do I get it to remain?
I'm trying to make a mobile app overview and I want to add a little "tapping" animation a whole bunch of times for parts where a button is tapped and so forth. I made an animation of a circle scaling quickly to show the tapping.
The only way I can think of doing this is painstakingly mapping out its position keyframes for the different times in the timeline along with setting hundreds of keyframes for the scale. Is there a way I can just animate it once and then just insert it on various parts of the timeline?

This works great for db levels but the maximum level that can be set is -48db and this is still allowing some audio to "bleed through". I can mute the audio for the whole track, but that's not what I want - I want to mute the track at certain keypoints on the timeline.
I can't see any way to do this in After Effects.
I have some very long movies and want to insert some short parts of it in the timeline.So i open the movie in the footage panel mark in and out point and press ovelay insert to insert this part in the timeline.Next time i open the same movie in the footage panel to mark the next part i want to insert in the timeleine, my timeline playhead jumps to the time where my playhead of the footage panel is in this clip. is it possible to unlink the footage panel and the Timeline?

View 7 Replies View RelatedI'm having trouble with my animated Lens Flare and the inaccuracy between the main timeline. It's the default AE filter. I have the Lens Flare animation in a composition called textbox which is within the main composition.
If you look at the screenshot you'll see the animated lens flare which moves from left to right. This animation is in my textbox comp.
On the second screenshot you'll see I'm at the same time, but the flare animation is inconsistent. I can't figure out what it is. I have the fps all the same.
Why is the scrolling on the timeline so slow when Cache indicators are enabled? It's very useful to have cache indicators on but when they are enabled the scrolling (up-down/left-right) on the timeline becomes significantly slow and unresponsive enough to make it unusable. It's more noticeable the more layers are present in each composition. It's very frustrating and it is something that started happening from 5.5 onwards.
I am now on After Effect 12.2 with a Macbook Retina 2.6Ghz i7 and 16gb of ram. The problem was also present on my previous laptop.
I have found that my computer has slowed down when using autocad. I am thinking it is related to the blocks and possibly exploding them but when I delete and purge the programme still runs really slowly ie takes up to 5 seconds for a command to complete. Also when I try to copy and paste from one drawing to another it can take up to 15 mins or more.

Is there anyway to speed things up? Do multiple graphics cards work? I have a Quadro 4000 and some kind of ATi card installed (in a mac pro) - does it make a difference which one the monitor is plugged into?
