VideoStudio :: How To Install Boris Graffiti 5.2
Jul 7, 2011I have Boris Graffiti 5.2 and would like to run it from Corel VS ProX4. which folder in the VS ProX4 directory I should install the plugin file.
During installation of Graffiti 5.2 I chose the "plugin" folder but this does not appear in the VS ProX4 workspace. I understand from video tutorials that Graffiti 5.2 locates itself in the FX panel. The plugin file has a .prm extension.
VideoStudio :: Boris In X4 Project Not Showing In X5?
Jun 17, 2012Just noticed that projects with Boris effects in X4 that are imported into X5 (as a VSP file) don't seem to carry over the effect. I had some trouble last year when I started a project in X3 and then tried finishing it in X4. But this time I noticed the Boris effect is completely missing when I open the file in X5. I spent quite some time getting the effect I wanted with Boris in X4 so I'll just have to create a video file and then pull that into the time line with X5. The other thing I noticed was the VSP project from X4 is very jerky and not fluid at all in X5 even with the same preferences set in X5 as were in X4 (proxy enabled). The jerky movement is mostly with the Motion Studio clip I created but again like I said I had a bad experience once before working on a project started in a previous VS version so I should have learned. It's only less than 30 seconds of work so I'm not too concerned. I couldn't wait for Father's Day so I started it on X4. But now I can't wait to play with the new. Got the lawn done, other chores completed and the kids are leaving alone me to play with my new toy for the rest of the day

Jun 26, 2012I'm likin' it for the most part, but am having some problems when applying any (animated) Boris 3D titles or enhanced 2D titles. Preview slows to crawl. Taking as long as 50 sec to preview a 6 sec title effect. VS crashed at 60% on attempting to render (MPEG-4 HD) the same 6 sec. title effect.
These are not sophisticated titles I'm using here. Just using Boris' animated templates, changing the font format to 3D or 2D with borders and shadows. All on plain black swatch background, no other tracks in use. If I just use the default plain 2D text the animations work just fine.
I'm set to full hardware acceleration, changing preview from Best, Better, My hardware profile is on the right, am I short on GPU for these types of animations?
VideoStudio :: Boris Grafitti Key Framer Error?
Dec 2, 2012Finally got the Boris Graffiti plug in to install when I start the program I am presented with this error message on the start screen
After select OK the Programs GUI opens and the program seems to function OK. I tried the repair option downloading a new copy of the VSX5 bonus disc uninstalling and reinstall but still same problem. It appears that this is a standalone app inside the Boris FX folder
Unless the missing dll is supposed to be coded inside Graffiti5 Key-framer exe launcher the Boris Plugin program appears not to use any dynamic link library files but but uses the AEX compiled add-in library script file type.

Jan 28, 2013When I am editing a picture in Photoshop, I use a lot of keyboard shortcuts for curves, hue/saturation, etc. but I get frustrated that the box shows up right in the middle of the screen, over the picture I am trying to edit. This makes me have to move it out of the way with the mouse to see what the changes will look like. Is there a way to have it default it popping up to a corner of the screen or even a way to move it without having to grab the mouse?. It is my #1 Photoshop frustration and I figure there is a way that I just can't seem to find it.

When I click on Open File, the window that comes up has several default columns (FileName, Date, Size, etc).
I can right-click on the tab bar and add "Date Modified" to the tabs, but I would like to have "Date Modified" be a default column whenever I open the file selector (and no matter which folder I open up).
I cannot find a way to do this. I want to know the last date I modified a file, not when it was created.
Is there a way to universally set this column as a default?
Illustrator :: How To Create A Graffiti Style Digital Stencil
Dec 29, 2012I am attempting to create a street art style stencil graphic to put on a t-shirt using Illustrator (note, not an actual stencil for spray painting, just the visual effect of one). I was able to make something similar in photoshop, but pixelation issues lead me to attempt a vector style graphic. The overlying "stencil" image is a complex vector object and the underlying "paint" layer is a series of semi-transparent paint splatter vector groups to get a more textured effect. I am doing it this way because, I have not been able to find any graffiti style brushes that work the same way as those in photoshop. The problem I am having is that when I attempt to make a clipping mask of these objects to be left with just the desired "paint" areas, there is a message about the complexity of this operation, and the result is total disappearance of all the objects, except for their paths. better way to get a vector graffiti stencil effect with texture?

VideoStudio :: Blank Preview Window In X4 With Windows7
Feb 1, 2013I just upgraded to windows 7 and now there is a blank preview window when I try to capture. I have tried capturing in both DV and DVD and no preview. I am capturing via firewire from a VHS. This worked perfectly under windows xp but is not working under 7. It seems that it does capture but I cannot preview in order to find my spot on the tape.

Jul 23, 2013I just know I've posted about this before, in years gone by, but I've forgotten something simple. I have VideoStudio ultimatex6, but have an older computer with x5pro. When I load up my avi files, the thumbnails in the library and the edit window show only as black, though the clip name shows beneath the clip. And the clip plays clearly in the preview window that pops up when you ask it to.
I have the program on another computer and this is not a problem. All is fine. What I have assumed is there is a setting somewhere that does this - yet, comparing one to the other, I can't see any difference in the way the units are set under preferences. No doubt, there is some silly little thing causing me to think bad thoughts. So, I want to take the computer - which does have the specs for the program - to the cottage and leave the behemouth home.
VideoStudio :: Super Low Framerate In Preview Window?
Aug 5, 2012I am using VideoStudio Pro X3, and am having a lot of difficulty with the preview window.
When I play the video I have been working on, it runs the video at about 1 frame per second or so, and renders the program useless. The odd thing is, when I select an individual clip and click run, it runs at a proper frame rate.
Is there some sort of codec or driver that I am missing?

As a work-round----Change the project properties to use 1920 x 1080 and your images will be 1920 x 1080.

Compression to Microsoft Video 1 (there may be others you can use—Div X ??)
General Tab
Frame Size---User Defined to 1920 x 1080
Ok now the screen shots should all use the larger image size.

Mar 10, 2011I am using VideoStudio Pro X3 and trying to understand some behavior in the program. I have some AVI files which I added to the gallery. If I play the video from the gallery in the preview window, the exposure appears correct. But when I pause the video, the image becomes darker (with more contrast). I've attached 2 image captures which demonstrate. After the video clip is added to the timeline, playing or pausing the clip will also appear darker. After I trim and create a new AVI and watch both in Windows Media Player, the original is brighter and the edited video is darker. What is causing this change to the video's exposure??

Aug 28, 2013When I play video clips back in the playback window, they shake and stutter and give an "after-effect" look to each clip. Looks like mouse trails if you select that in your setup. I am running the program in Windows 8 64 bit, if that matters, but don 't see why it should. When I play the clips in Windows Media player, just to check to see if it is the clips, none of this behavior occurs. Never ran into this one before and I have been with VS since the good old days of version 4.
I rendered a few clips that were doing that into the final MPG format I want and the shakiness is not there once rendered. It can only mean that I have something ticked or un-ticked in my setup of VS Pro 16 Ultimate. It makes it difficult to stitch together the final clips with pinpoint accuracy.
VideoStudio :: Pro X5 Library Photos Go Black In Preview Window?
Jan 14, 2013When I select photos in library or on the video track they go black in preview window... nothing appears. But not all... some don't go black. This happens after working on project for 15-20 minutes. When I first start up computer they all appear in preview when selected. No problem then. Same if I shut down and restart computer. Only after working on project awhile does it happen. Also after some time working I get window saying no memory. I thought with 4 ram I could work for hours before getting any problems like this. I plug in my external WD Passport HD only for backups. And with MacShield filter turned off, still have problem. Could it be the VS Pro X5 software?
