VideoStudio :: Change Dimensions Of 640x424 Clip To 1280x720

Aug 4, 2012

I have put together a video that was mostly filled with 1280x720 clips. However, there is one clip that I mistakenly filmed in 640x424 after I had played with some camera settings. The 640x424 clip is only a few seconds long, but I really need it for my video. Is there any way I can change the dimensions for it to match the widescreen clips of the rest of my video?

VideoStudio :: Saving HD Clips In 1280x720

Apr 27, 2011

My question: I prefer to shoot my videos in 720p, to optimally match my TV. I see that in VideoStudio, the only 720p option is by using HDV. Is there any other way to get 1280x720 output? I see that AVCHD and Blu-Ray only offers 1980 and 1440 options, both which resize my videos (which I do not want). I'd like to save back as 1280x720 MP4, but VS's MP4 option doesn't provide this.

(Now that I think about it, why does VideoStudio offer 1440 rather than 1280? I thought 1920x1080 and 1280x720 were the common HD formats.)

VideoStudio :: X3 - MOV Files From DSLR At 1280x720 60p?

So my question is how does X4 fair with .mov files from a DSLR at 1280x720 60p? I can't waste another day converting files like that and I have another shoot booked on the 28th.

VideoStudio :: How To Change Aspect Attribute For Given Clip

Jan 1, 2011

In transferring my old home movies from previously captured .AVI files (from tape to raw .AVI) to DVDs over my Christmas vacation, I have finally come to the point in my video tape timeline where I made the switch to 16:9. It's on my first video from 2002 and unfortunately I flipped the 'widescreen' switch on my camcorder mid-tape on that 2002 Mini-DV tape. So on this .AVI file I have mixed aspect ratios. When I pull that .AVI file into X3, the attribute is set to 4:3, so the 2nd half this file is out of whack.

What I've done is split the .AVI by scenes so I could work with them separately. I've created a DVD compliant video file from all the 4:3 scenes and now I need to work with the 16:9 scenes, but they still carry the 4:3 attribute so X3 displays them incorrectly. I don't see a way to change the attribute of these clips.

how to go about changing the attribute from 4:3 to 16:9 for video that was shot in 16:9?

Premiere Pro :: How To Export A Video As MP4 1280x720

I'm trying to export a video as MP4, 1280x720 but when I attempt to adjust the frame height/width to this, I get a message that says "Frame dimension not supported: Please check that both width/height values are within limits." Aspect ratio is 16:9 and frame rate is is 60. When I export it as AVI, I don't get this same problem, but the file is HUGE so I'm trying to export as MP4. Also the filepath for MP4 comes up as .gp.

VideoStudio :: X6 - Restarting Clip

Mar 18, 2013

I just downloaded the videostudio X6 trial version. For some reasons, some sequences from mpg clips I added to my project seems to be repeating itself for no reason. The bug occurs within a unique sequence and might change the "restart" position while the timeline cursor.

Ex: Original video = Cow cross the road, a car hit the cow then the car explode and finaly a generic

After importing the original video = Cow cross the road, a car hit the cow then the car explode, then the car hit the cow a second time

If I move the cursor right to left a couple of time, it might end up missing the first part of the clip where the cow is suppose to cross the road (replaced by a second car exploding)

It's a single clip and the final display is changing even if I don'T touch anything. I use to be a Ulead video studio user and I never had such problem.

VideoStudio :: X2 Motion Menu (don't Use First Clip)

Jul 3, 2011

Within a DVD menu I created a motion menu. However I don't want to have the first clip as introductory video for the motion menu. I unmarked the checkbox named "use first clip as introductory video and added, in the first page of the Share - DVD, the clip that must be played in the motion menu (moved the clip most left).

In the menu itself its now fine when nothing is selected, though when selecting the total video to play, the selected video file of the motion menu starts to play where the first video file (clip) must be played. I know that in the main menu I can select the first clip to play as well but that's exactly what I want to avoid..

I removed all chapters since I don't like to have a sub-menu. Just one overall main menu to play the total video, and in the DVD menu in the motion menu only, I want to see (and not select) the chosen clip.

VideoStudio :: X3 - Why Is The Same As First Clip Option Grayed Out

Sep 27, 2011

I shoot AVCHD video from my Canon Vixia HF S 21 at the highest setting of 24 Mbps / 60i. I have a Lite-On BD Burner and make BD-R discs. Originally when creating the movie that will be burned to disc, I was using the Blue Ray option (MPEG2 25000kbps). I was not happy as I saw much degradation of the image. I know from users on this forum that H.264 is the prefered format, but VS X3 limits you to 20000kbps, which will result in an even more degraded image. (Will this limit be removed in VS x5??)

What I found by accident was in the above project, use the option "Same as first clip". This resulted in an H.264 video, VBR 22700 kbps and the video is very sharp on my 55" LCD TV compared to the MPEG2 compression. So I am quite happy with this setting.

My problem is on my project right now, the Same as first clip option is grayed out. Why is this happening? Could it be that this time I captured as real 24F rather than in 60i format? My only option is MPEG2 for BLuRay, or use MPEG optimizer which still shows Mpeg2 but now VBR is 22700 rather than 25000 kbps. There is no way to get it to render as H.264. BTW I also noticed this the other day when rendering a project from video from my wife's Flip camera.

VideoStudio :: X3 - How To Remove Some Frames From A Clip

Aug 28, 2010

Trying to take a chunk of frames out of the middle of a clip. The manual says:

"The Navigation Panel is used to preview and edit the clips used in your project. Use the Navigation Controls to move around a selected clip or your project. Use the Trim Markers and Scrubber to edit your clips."

I have done that. Trim Markers set to start and end of frames to be removed. So what is next? Where is the magic button that removes the unwanted frames? Have tried Delete but nothing apparently changes.

While I am at it, how do the scissors work? Can click on them at the start of a series of frames but they become greyed out after that.

Have done a lot of stuff in Windows Movie Maker, which was much more straightforward, but unfortunately it can't cope with HD. VSX3 manual is good at giving you various different ways of selecting frames for deletion, but seems to miss out on the punch line: "now do this to delete them".
