After apparently successfully capturing dv from Sony Cam (V1P) and Panasonic NVGS400 via firewire, I get message 'capture failed, corrupt files'. This happens with VS4 and VS5 both of which are installed on this computer. Settings are lower field first, dv1. All patches are installed.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have VideoStudio Pro X5 ultimate. Build # 15.1.0.34 I have upgraded my operating system from Windows 7 to windows 8. On windows 7, Screen Capture worked just fine. On windows 8 it does not operate. I get a message as follows: “VSSCap. Prepare Record Failed!!! #42” How can I get Screen Capture to work on my Windows 8 system? All other functions of VideoStudio Pro X5 seem to work OK. I tried to submit a question to Corel as to what this Error code means and how to correct the problem but they say "NO TECKS AVAILABLE TO ANSWER YOUR QUESTION" And just log me out?
What "Prepare Record Failed!!! #42" means and or how to correct it? It seems to me that if Corel gives you an error message then they should support that error but they do not! Why don't they? They say that Windows 8 and VideoStudio Pro X5 Ultimate are completely compatible then why am I getting this message. Corel really should support it's message errors and not let its customers struggle for an answer? I love VideoStudio Pro X5 Ultimate and try as I may I cannot solve this problem.
After not having much luck with the last video card, I changed my video card to a device with the Philips 713x chipset
Now when I select video capture I get the following message:

I have just installed card (SAA7130 TV PCI card) with latest drivers excluding the software so Video Studio 12 pro is the only capture software on the machine . I also re-installed both card and Video Studio after doing a complete system restore and used CC cleaner to remove any residual data before re-installing.
I need to use video capture within the Video Studio software as I need to use the scene detection functionality.The reason I had to change the card in the first place is that video studio only allowed me to capture in AVI 320x240 and gave 'capture failed' errors with anything else.
I have just moved to VSP5 from 4 and am having difficulty importing .cr2 files in Capture. Same photo files go satisfactorily into v.4 but are apparently ignored by the new version. Am I missing a setup or preferences step?
To make this point more specifically: I have created test folders containing mixed .mov, .jpg and .cr2 files - only the .mov are recognised. I have also created a test folder containing only .jpg and .cr2 files. On Capture, VSP5 reports "There is no valid content".

Two quick questions:
How do I capture a screen, or frame and how do I get to the help files?
I downloaded the trial version of VideoStudio 4 Pro to try it out and I like the interface and the ease of use. My problem is that when I capture MPEG 4 files in the timeline and go to replay them, the sound and video are very choppy and the replay skips the whole way through.
I converted the MPEG 4 files to wmv, and the video was smooth but I lost some of the image clarity in the converting process. I don't think it's my computer because the MPEG 4 files play nicely on MediaPlayer - just not on VideoStudio.
I have Corel VideoStudio Pro X3 as well as the trial version of X4 which I have just downloaded. I am having the same problem with both versions. When I go into Capture, there is no image coming through the Capture Window, it is just black. When I hit Capture Video, it does start capturing and it does record video correctly, however when I stop capturing, the preview window turns black again.
How can I get the video to be seen in the Capture preview window?
My computer is Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit edition. I am using a USB capture device, the Diamond Multimedia VC500 One Touch VHS Video Capture USB 2.0.

The operating system is windows 7 64 bit. I have "Magix movie edit pro 17" and "Cyberlink Video Director" and both of these programs work with the same device and capture. Neather one of these applications are running while using Video Studio. I checked and nothing else is utilizing this USB WDM 2860 device. I reinstalled the software, installed the patches, and uninstalled the USB drivers and reinstalled them.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI worked about 4 hours last night on a 13 minute video in ProX3. Before starting I uploaded patch from link that popped up when I opened ProX3. When all done editing, I "shared" it to YouTube via ProX3. This morning when I checked YouTube I found the video audio is corrupt meaning where I had it muted, in some clips it now has scratchy "heart beat" sounding video audio and in some places no video audio where I wanted it, whaaaa. I went back to the original .VSP file to see what was wrong, but the video audio looks good in the wave data.

I've read all of the previous threads here and others online referring to Protexis Licensing V2 in the Services tab. I've un-installed, reinstalled several times. Would be nice is a "Repair" option was available. I've entered the serial numbers, several times, made it to the "Register Product" page but can never get the program to start. This was an update from VS 4 and I've entered the serial number for that when prompted. I have the program working just fine on another completely new system. Both are running Windows 7.

When I rebooted and opened Photoshop, every Photoshop file I had worked on that afternoon, plus two from the day before, was corrupt - nothing else was affected. Desktop preview icons and file sizes looked fine, but when I opened the files they were just bands of color and noise. All layers were gone and the size was incorrect. The jpgs I had saved from the psd files were also corrupt. Adobe blames Apple and Apple blames Adobe.

When I'm in photo shop doing photo editing, zooming in/out and doing lots of processor heavy maneuvers, my file once in a while becomes garbelled and corrupt. Why is this happening? Is there a way of preventing it? It's annoying having to start over epsecially when you have a PSD file with many layers.
Suddenly I could not open one of the file. It is not so big file (120kB) How can I fix it?

I have fixed the firmware but I have over 100 photos taken before the fix that I would like to salvage. I have found many services that will recover deleted files but none that fix corrupted ones.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm using Gimp on very very large image files, my current image is 22000 x 23000. Gimp has 24GB of memory assigned in the Preferences menu (out of 32) and is fine while editing. However whenever I save the image as an XCF or PSD it corrupts. Occasionally with an XCF it will be recoverable but only one layer will recover. If it's exported as a PSD next time I try to open the image it says there are too many layers and is corrupt.
Is this a bug or is there a way I can preserve my large images with layers?
When importing some JPG files into Lightroom 5, it is claiming it cannot generate a preview, and then on import claiming they are corrupt. However, these files import with LR3, and open with Photoshop, Picasa, OSX Preview. The images and metadata all appear to be fine. Other photos from the same camera and shoot import correctly into LR 5.
And how do I get LR5 to correctly import these files?
Unfortunately I have found some corrupt CR2 files in my library (less than 1% so not general problem, files have been moved to my current machine from other source).
Inside Lightroom the photos (Library Grid view) are marked with an exclamation mark in the upper right corner.
Is there a way in Lightroom to search for all files which have such corruption problems? It is a rather large library to scroll through manually.
The camera files seem to be just fine, but my jpg files frequently get corrupt on export. They get these random horizontal lines through them, as well as big gray sections that begin part way through the file. If I re-export them, they usually come out all right. I would like to pin down the cause. I'll change the process priority from normal to realtime for now and see how it goes.

Problem: When I save jpeg files some of them become corrupt and will not open.
I have been using PSP for a number of years and decided to upgrade to X4, now a number of the files that I save in PSP are becoming corrupted and they seem to all be photos which are shot using a pure white background, not all photos are affected, I never had this problem in my previous versions of PSP
I use adobe lightroom which I transfer my raw file into jpeg, this is where i then open the jpeg in X4 and do my main editing, it is when I save the image it saves corrupted and can not be opened or deleted (shows that X4 is still using the file) . it will also not allow me to re transfer the image from my catalog.
There are some good features and I am considering uninstalling and reverting back to my older program (X2).
This may be an issue with the metadata of the image, I exported 2 sets of 50 identical images 50 with and 50 without the Metadata and ran a script which then automatically save the image, about 20 of the images with the metadata ended up corrupted, all the images without the metadata saved fine.
We are facing a strange problem in Corel Draw X4 and X3.First Corel Draw X4 corrupted its color pallet so that all colors were shown completely wrong.After that I tried to instal Corel Draw X3 which seemed to work ok. After a while when opening some older files, Corel corrupts these files. After I have opened them they are completelty empty and the file size is something like 10kb.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI had a file which, opened with Civil 3D 2013, worked fine, but one of the SID images disappeared and was shown as "corrupt" in the same drawing opened in Civil 3D 2014.
The problem was that the file name contained a character in a font not recognized by R2014. (The file name was G1105001_095-ps 12_5æ.sid) Once I renamed the file and re-attached it in 2014 it worked fine. 2013 processes this font type with no problem.
About 12% into creating a finished .mpg file, I get a "failed to encode the audio 2000:1:1" error and the creation of the .mpg file ends.
I've saved the project, closed the program and reopened everything, only to have the same result.
This is the first time this has ever happened, and I have made several videos in the same size and format previously.

From time to time when saving a file the file gets corrupted. When trying to open the file, only a blank page is visible. Trying to open the file as zip says "error in packed file..." This happens several times a day (we are 5 users and this happens to everyone).
The out of memory issue is also a huge problem for us. This happens several times a day, often during printing.
Are Corel taking these issues seriously or don't you care about professional users which are dependent on reliable tools?
3 users at Win7-64, 2 at XP-32. All computers are top notch with all patches/updates installed.
I was trying to create a simple slideshow with sound when first my computer warned of low memory (something that doesn't seem plausible), and then Photoshop Elements 9 and the associated organizer crashed. When I brought it back, several photos were "grayed out" and my organizer is completely frozen. The error suggests that there are corrupt files. I tried to follow the instructions on the website, but cannot find any sort of Catalog menu or means of changing anything in the catalog or organizer as indicated in the troubleshooting and restoration instructions.

I get the error message "The Project Appears to be Damaged, it can not be opened". This is for all my Premiere CC Projects. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Premiere with no avail. View 32 Replies View RelatedI've been using VideoStudio Pro X2 for the past 2 years and it has been working just fine since, up until mid last week. I was rolling right along, creating MPEG-2's of the Classic 39 Honeymooners episodes, until I got up to Episode 24, when I started getting the 'Failed to open the MPEG encoder' error message. I searched through this forum to find any possible solution and the only solutions I found were to check to see if the MPEG-2 encoder CODEC is installed, which it appears to be according to the InstalledCodec utility and to uninstall/reinstall VS, which I did. I still receive the same error message, however. What could cause it to go from working one moment, to not working the next?
I tried to attach a text file listing all of the installed codecs on my system, so you can look to see if the needed codecs are installed, however I was unable to attach the file...says 'extension not allowed'. How to upload the file.
