Can I change the default bitrate from 8000 kbps to 6000 kbps permanently? I brought a number of individual .mp4 song files into the timeline, about 1 hour twenty minutes total in length, can I normalize them without using "create video file". I want to play this video and be able to skip songs if I want to. The original file .mp4. I am using a trial of Corel VideoStudio Pro x4.

I have named the HD Photo Location, and have created a folder in it called it "My Lightroom Photos". I have been able to create this, but cannot seem to ber able to make it my default when I open LR 3.5. I have to manually go in and change it. Is there a way that this can be changed to make it my default?

As far as I can see the default behavior for these should be ON, it used to be this could be saved as the Defaults until after version 9, now they turn off. However is there any reason to ever have them off? I think not but just in case there is I will allow as to leave them there for people to turn off.
Yes I am aware I can save those settings as Print styles and have in fact got 2, one with crop marks enabled and because crop marks are 100 % CMYK unless greyscale is chosen I have one with no cropmarks so Xerox doesn't charge me color clicks on mixed black and color prints. Of course one has only to forget to use one of these 2 preferences to have all the problems associated with not having those items checked such as dropped out complex items.
While I am at it another default should be NOT to treat all objects as filled - the first thing needed to be changed during a install. I can however live with it as is as it is not a item that needs to be changed with every job.
As I see it the most common reason for Adobe users to complain about Coreldraw is the problems that come by not having Auto Increase Flatness as a default postscript behavior and their not knowing to turn it on.
And while I am at it an addition for creating PDF's would be the option of creating as a Bitmap, this being the preferred proofing method so providing a proof doesn't provide the artwork to the client, it could also be a useful method of supplying Web artwork.
My work involves importing in new documents and formating them correctly. We have a specific font style that is different than the original font. Illustrator cannot read those fonts, so it defaults to Myriad Pro in the original text size. Since it is changing it from Myriad Pro to Arial, I don't really have a problem with the global change that this would have.
I already have the [Character Styles] options set up for a template, but this does not work on new documents.
We are on Windows 7 with CS6.
I often create points manually. You get that dialogue box where you choose the layer and the default local coordinates, etc etc.
The local coordinates setting always defaults to Northing/Easting. (ditto the grid coordinates).
I set it to Easting/Northing as is standard around these parts and do my points, but if I close the box, when I reopen it to add more points later, it is back to Northing/Easting.
I cannot find a variable to control this behaviour.
I never need points to have north first and would like it to default to Easting/Northing at all times. Yes I'm using the Metric template.
Is there a way to change this default?
I've just upgraded from VS 10 on an XP SP3 to VS X4 and Win7 Pro.
I take .TS videos from my cable box, convert it with VideoReDo to MPEG2, and edit/burn the resulting MPEG2 files to standard DVDs with VS. (Basically in VS, I use the cropping filter to black out the noise at the top of the screen, then add chapters, and burn without a menu.) Windows (File Properties, Details) always tells me that the TS and converted MPEG2 files have a variable bitrate max 15000kbps, and VS X4 says the same about the TS files, but it sees a MUCH lower max bitrate on the MPEG2s, often variable max 2000-4000kbps. (The shows recorded are standard def.)
On my old system, even though I always had the "Do not convert compliant MPEGs" box checked on the Create DVD Properties window, I guess it was always converting them anyway, because the green disk size indicator at the bottom would show that anything over 1 hour 20 minutes would need to be shrunk to fit on a single layer disc. But on my new system, even MPEGs that are 1 hour 50 minutes long are shown to only take up a third of a 4.7GB single layer disc (and only take about 15 minutes to render and burn vs. at least 45 minutes on my old system). Granted, my new system is a big step up from the old in terms of processing power and RAM, and if it was just the burn time that was different, I'd say, "Great." and leave it at that. But the DVDs I'm burning on the new system seem lower quality to me (lots of pixellation on pans/motion, etc.) than with VS10 on my old system, and I'm wondering if VS10 was somehow upconverting those low bitrate MPEGS to 8000kbps and X4 isn't.
If I uncheck the "Do not convert compliant MPEGs" box, the green disk size indicator looks a lot more like it did on my old system -- filling a disc with 1 hour 20 minutes of content. Do you think if I burned discs with the "compliant" box unchecked and let it "fill the DVD" so to speak, I would get better quality DVDs like I did in the old days?
The MPEGs are the same, so I can't figure out why VS10 never saw them as "compliant" but X4 now seems to -- to the detriment of my discs.
I'm outputting DV-AVI files filmed on a Sony A1 in DV CAM as MPEG-4 videos for upload to Vimeo.

I have been outputting to upload the files to Vimeo as:

24 bits, 1280 x 720, 25 fps

H.264 Main Profile Video: 5000 Kbps
44100 Hz, 16 Bit, Stereo
MPEG AAC Audio: 128 Kbps
My question is if there's any benefit or drawback to outputting at 256 Kbps sound instead of 128? The file sizes are pretty similar (I guess the extra sound quality takes a bit of the picture kbps instead?) but I can't notice a difference with either image or sound quality.
I'm using Video Studio Pro X5.
I just purchased VideoStudio. My needs are extremely basic, but I've found one issue that I wouldn't have expected, that is, when I go to save a video and choose MP4, H-264 Main, 1280x720, the compression does not allow you to go below 5000 kbps.
I think this is a good base line, but to not allow you to go below this figure is frustrating. Is there a way to update the limiter so you can go beneath this without changing anything else?
I have a Panasonic HDC SD700 camera, beautiful.
I can change the recording quality from 1080 50P at 28Mps down to as little as 1080i at 5Mps, however I record mainly at 16.8Mps. The reason for that is that VSpro3 crashes liek a mother all the time workign with the larger files especially if trying to render a project. It uses AVCHD and files are .mts
After doing some research and reading I set up a movie maker profile in VSpro3 to replicate the camera settings and even that crashes when I take it up over 13Mps
Creating a video file in "blueray" mode mpeg 1920 x 1080 comes out with jitters if it doesn't crash
Creating a video file in "blueray" H.264 1920 x 1080 crashes
Creating a AVCHD 1920 with settings to match the input videos if it doesn't crash comes out jittery if it doesn't crash.
I of course can create the movie maker profile I created which is same as input files but 13Mps. I filled out my profile stuff as best I could and this PC is new. I really should be able to work with the 1080 50P 28Mps files and render them. I have downloaded all patches and updates. So over these crashes and difficulties in burning via the Corel DVD MovieFactory 7

I keep forgetting to turn off "smart render" and "non-square pixel rendering" in the options dialog when I convert.

When I choose a DVD-menu the default chapter names are "chapter01" to chapter99" where 99 is the last chapter number. I do use the German language version. The it is "Kapitel01" to "Kapitel99".
I do not want to have the word "Kapitel" in each line of the menu. I only want to have the chapter number. "01" to "99". Not the short numbers which count from 1 again on each page of the menu.
Is it possible to change the text "Kapitel" to blank or to delet the text to get only the chapter numbers als default chapter names? Can I configure it manual in any configuration file. I think that the word "Kapitel" comes from a German language file? Can I change it to blank there?
I've looked through all the FAQs I can find, and I can see how to change the settings each time I print, but I'd like to make it so that it always prints the pictures several shades lighter. I also need to recalibrate the printer, but this has always been a problem. Is there a way to permanently set up a printing profile that will always automatically apply?

I was working on an image, it was quite big, 7000 px wide, 6000 tall but only 5 quite simple layers, the .xcf is 7.8MB.
All of a sudden after pasting from another .xcf file (which I had just10+ times with no similar result) I moved the pasted part, the image was pretty much finished and I went up to click file>export and everything between "open recent" and "quit" in the file menu was grey.No chance to save or export and it appears half an hour of work lost.It was as if the file menu didn't think I had a file open, but if I scrolled across to the filters menu for example, they were available for selection which they are not when you have no image open. I could edit the image and change layer visibilities and do what I wanted to the image - except save it. I had flash backs to darker days of shareware version of lesser softer titles on proprietary systems. In a moment of frustration I hit the little "x" to resign for the night and it warned me to save before closing.. I hit save as the only option was to overwrite a file I didn't really want to overwrite but I did and then wrote this.
It's 2.8.6 running on an up to date ubuntu 13.10 on a high end PC.
i have a fast EliteBook pro Windows 7 , 8 gig ram that encouraged me to install 8000 more fonts to my windows , that what i shouldn't do ! now am in a trouble .
my photoshop cc is too slow now , i can't even work on it .i wanna uninstall those fonts but i don't know which one is which because i could remove windows 7 fonts by accident and that is the real catastrophe then .give me solution other than uninstalling windows 7 and reinstall it again .
I had it when CS5 was new. Now it has returned after 3 years. I get an unpredictable number of copies from my HP Office jet Pro 8000 Wireless printer when printing from Photoshop CS5. I do not have the same problem printing from other programs.
The problem is that I don't get the number of copies I ask for. If I set the number at 4 I may get only one. Some time later if I ask for 1 I may get 4 or 3 or 2. HP support asked me to "clear the print cache" by stopping and restarting the print spooler in the "services" list. That rectified the problem when it first happened, but now it has returned and the same process seems not to be working.
how can I set the default setting to 4x3? It seems to want to go to 16x9. figured out how to do it in VS3.

I am making videos out of Corel VideoStudio X5 and would like to configure the software so that by default, it does not have the SmartRender option selected.
Sometimes I forget to click that OPTIONS button to go into the config screen where I need to uncheck the SmartRender box.
I'd like it so that every time I create a file, that SmartRender box is unchecked by default so that I don't have to remember to click that Options button and perform the change each and every time.
Is there a way to do that?
I would like to change the default drive path location of the items that are placed into the Library panel on the edit window. I have a second hard drive and would like the items from the Library panel edit window to default to a drive path location on the second drive. I know I can export a library but I want the main Library panel work screen to default directly to a drive path location on the second hard drive.
