I need to mark an area that will be filled with equipment in the future. I ned this area to come up in an interference check.
I have created a mass to represent the area but you can't clash a mass. What object I could use to represent the area but can be clashed
I am using Revit 2014. My temporary dimensions do not show. When they do, they only show on one side. I have gone to Manage>Additional Settings>Temporary Dimensions, and tried the different options. It is making it very difficult to place things right now. Is there an all on button I can push? I have also tried closing and re-opening the file, turning off the computer, etc. They were available for use yesterday morning and have not worked since.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm placing lighting fixtures in an RCP, and after I place the light and select it, I only get temp dims in the vertical direction on screen, not the horizontal. Before I click to locate the object, the temp dims in both directions show up, but as soon as I click to place, only one tmep dim shows up.
If I place an aligned dimension from a wall face to the center of the light, and then selct the light, the dimension is not activated to adjust the distance. If I want to move the light, I have to drag it - I cannot input the distance into the dimension.
This makes trying to center a light in a room, or a set distance froma wall, next to impossible and extremely annoying and ecessively time comsuming.
When I place an aligned dimension along a wall in plan view and then select the wall, the temporary dimension does not appear to allow me to resize the wall.

I want demolished railings and other non-structural elements to appear with a red hidden line style but have been unable to find out how this can done.

I have VideoStudio 11 running under an XP Virtual PC.
I'm sure that there is a command to delete temporary files but I can't for the life of me remember how to access it.
Alternatively, would it be easier to go straight to the VideoStudio working folder. I've just had a look there and was staggered to find no less than 24GB of various files in the CvtedTitle folder.
Whenever I start PS CS, I get a "The Folder Specified for Temporary Files is not Available" error message.

Is there a way to create a temporary document and database that I can show in my preview control? The Preview Control was created with the guidance of the BlockView.net sample.
What I mean by temporary, is a document / database that cannot be displayed or edited in the editor window.
I was wondering if there is any way to temporarily mark measurements that I have made with the Measure function so I can go back and start a line at that point. Each time I use Measure, the information disappears when I go to another function.

They are named "Temporary Folder" followed by a long string of alphanumeric characters. Presumably they were created by LR as part of its operations (importing?). Can I erase these or will that disturb the Catalog? If they will, how can I remove them or should I just leave them alone? They are really piling up.

However, when I move the items off the canvas, they pretty much disappear. Is there any way to store items "off canvas" and have them visible for quick selection?
One option, I guess, is to make the whole Edit preview area the canvas and only crop the item to final size when I'm done, but that seems wonky.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently acquired AutoCAD 2007 LT and I'm trying to modify the temporary override keys the way I like them, and I can not get them to modify, or to work in their current settings.
I found the entry for the topic 'To modify a shortcut key.' It has 8 steps. I got through the first five, but the sixth I can not get to work as they describe it.
When I go to enter the new temporary override key, nothing appears in the entry window. For example, I am trying to set Endpoint Snap to CTRL-E. (It is currently SHIFT-E.) This is how I had it in 2002 and it shouldn't be a problem. But when I type it in, nothing appears. In fact, no matter what I type, nothing appears unless I press 'shift' first.
I also can't get them to actually work. If I'm in the Line command, and I turn off the running Osnap, and I press Shift-E, it does not actually create an endpoint snap for me, it just types a capital E in the command line, which does nothing for me.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am developing a plugin that retrieves data from external system and fills the data in text ranges. The text ranges have a "type" associated with it. I want to display the type in illustrator above the text range (like a title), but should not be saved as part of the file - it should be dynamically displayed "for info only". I have seen a plugin doing exactly same thing. See the image below - has been rendered by the plugin I mentioned. The "Type" heading with border appears dynamically. If I switch to another window and switch back, the border and "Type" heading is redrawn. When exported, heading does not appear in the image. When saved, heading does not get saved. There are no additional layers, and the heading is not selectable. How can I achieve the same?
Looks like the heading and border is around the layer that consists of textrange.
I've been trying to clean up some things on my PC concerning Lightroom. I just came across 3 files in my Lightroom folder, the folder where my Catalog file and the Preview folders are located.
Those 3 files are:
Temporary Import Data.db, 40 kb, modified 09/03/12
Temporary Import Data-2.db, 12,331 kb, modified 11/04/12
Temporary Import Data-2.db-journal, 986 kb, modified 11/04/12
Second, looks like they are just temporary files....can I delete them?

Just recently I got the program off of the student site and have been looking forward to learning how to use it. However, it seems as though I am stuck with a problem that will not allow me to use the program at all. Every time I try to create an object, be it a square, line, or column, Revit experience "a fatal error" and needs to be shut down. I have tried to reinstall Revit but it hasn't worked the situation in any way. What could possibly be going wrong that is causing this program to fail at its most basic functions?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an object, a non-symmetrical anchor clip, that has four configurations: Left Top, Right Top, Left Bottom, Right Bottom. In the project, I can rotate the clip from the project's Top view, but when I try to rotate it from the Front, I get the message "Can't rotate element into this position." In the family (see attached), I have a Flip Control in place to flip the element right-to-left, but I can't seem to add a top-to-bottom control in an elevation view. To get the project out the door, I created a top and bottom version of the same object, but this seems redundant and makes my scheduling more difficult.
How I can either add another flip control to the family to easily flip the clip (preferably) or rotate the object in the project so that it is upside down?
I was working in Photoshop CS5.1 (OS X 10.7.5) and the original image I started with was saved in TemporaryItems, long story short I spent 4 hours working on an illustration and saving the .psd files versions in the same TemporaryItems folder, planning to move all the files tonight. Just came back to it and the files are gone! I may cry pixel tears, desperately running out of swear words.

Open any drawing > go to Layout.
Turn ON Lineweight.
Enter DIST command. Pick first point. Do not pick second point.
Instead do wheel mouse zoom in. => the temporary line has thickness. It should not.
I'm trying to override the F9 key with an AutoLISP subroutine invocation. However, though I have redefined the Temporary Override Key (associated with the F9 key) in the CUI editor, the F9 key nevertheless still triggers the default Toggle Snap Mode behavior. So it's not accepting the redefinition even though the new definition persists between AutoCAD sessions.
how to get the redefinition to take?
First, I'm using Linux Mint 14 and just had to do a re-install. Since then I have the following messages when I open Gimp
"To avoid data loss, please check the location and permissions of the swap directory defined in your Preferences (currently "/home/todd/.gimp-2.8")"
and
"Could not create temporary file for '/home/todd/.gimp-2.8/gimprc': Permission denied"
I assume this isn't a good thing and would like to get it sorted out but don't know quite how. Yes I've re-installed Gimp, no change.
I’ve been using Autocad LT since 1994 and the Tracking command has always worked the same, now in the newest version (2009) when I Shift + Right Click I only have “Temporary Track Point” on the menu and it works differently then the old Tracking in LT 2002.
If I want to place a Point at a specific area inside a rectangle I would normally select Point then invoke Tracking then select the bottom left corner of the rectangle and move the cursor over to the Right and enter a distance such as 2.1 Enter, then move my cursor up and enter another distance 2.5 Enter, Enter. That would place the point at 2.1,2.5 relative to the lower left corner of the rectangle. I can no longer do this because as soon as I hit Enter after the first distance it places the point there.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have added a 4 Panel Sliding Door from the standard Revit family. I would now like to only change the colour of the frame in lets say my north elevation. My understand is that this would be done by overriding the frame material via Manage>Object Styles>Doors>Frame/Mullion, then applying a new material.
I have made sure that my shade colour is set to the correct RGB value, and in my north elevation I have my Visual Style set to shaded.
Why am I not seeing the new shaded colour?
