Oct 25, 2011Is there any way to set the font size for the temporary dimensions? I am having a hard time trying to read the numbers on screen.

Revit :: Temporary Dimensions Do Not Show?
Nov 5, 2013I am using Revit 2014. My temporary dimensions do not show. When they do, they only show on one side. I have gone to Manage>Additional Settings>Temporary Dimensions, and tried the different options. It is making it very difficult to place things right now. Is there an all on button I can push? I have also tried closing and re-opening the file, turning off the computer, etc. They were available for use yesterday morning and have not worked since.

Jun 6, 2013I'm placing lighting fixtures in an RCP, and after I place the light and select it, I only get temp dims in the vertical direction on screen, not the horizontal. Before I click to locate the object, the temp dims in both directions show up, but as soon as I click to place, only one tmep dim shows up.
If I place an aligned dimension from a wall face to the center of the light, and then selct the light, the dimension is not activated to adjust the distance. If I want to move the light, I have to drag it - I cannot input the distance into the dimension.
This makes trying to center a light in a room, or a set distance froma wall, next to impossible and extremely annoying and ecessively time comsuming.

Sep 27, 2012how to change the demolished and temporary appearances of non-structural elements such as railiings, plumbing fixtures etc?It is straigh forward to use phase overides to change the appearance of Walls etc that are either demolished or temporary, but however you change these appearances non structural elements stubbornly remain with a dotted blue outline. I want demolished railings and other non-structural elements to appear with a red hidden line style but have been unable to find out how this can done.

Jan 4, 2013Everytime I select Mtext, specifically in a dimension, Autocad 2010 Arch automatically switches the highlighted (computed measurement) text to Arial before I've done anything. So everytime I have to edit a dimension Mtext, I have to reselect the computed dimension (<> / highlighted text), then select the correct text style again to get it back to the correct text style I'm using (FluxArch ttf). All of my text styles in the file have no association w/ Arial, and all the dimension styles rely on the text styles...so I'm stumped. Do I need to repair Autocad due to it Mtext editor being corrupted or something to get it to work properly again?

Feb 20, 2012We are overlaying a word or two on jpg's. In the settings bar along the top, the font is set to 8pt.That has worked seamlessly, for some time. Suddenly, though the pt setting is not changed, the actual text over the photo is larger - much too large to fit. But changing the pt setting to a lower number still results in something too large.
is the sudden change in outcome, when there has been no change in the setting. And no ability to get a correct font size.This is in Ps CS4, on Mac 10.6.8. I have checked the font in Font Book (Myriad Pro), and no corruption appears for the font.

Sep 23, 2013I took some shots yesterday with my iPod Touch Fifth Geration and Adobe Bridge (of just by clicking on the file in Finder) shows the file size of the jpeg files at about 2.33 megs with dimensions of 1936 x 2592 or 26.9 x 36.0, 72 ppi. When I open the file in Adobe Photoshop CC, the file size is 14.4 megs with the same dimensions.
Why is there such a difference in file size?
And, after I work on the file in Photoshop and save it again AS A TIFF IMAGE without changing dimensions, but doing some work with NIK filters, Adobe Bridge now shows the new file at 14.39 megs. I know that TIFF takes up more file size than jpeg, but is there that much of a difference in file size?

Nov 16, 2012 I am having a problem with dimensions and making them opaque. I want to use "Bring to Front" to solve it, but Revit does not give me this option.
To detail out my problem: I have a dim style style setup to make dimesion text mask out objects behind it. The problem we are having is that if I draw one dimension, then draw a second dimenion that is over top of the first dim's text the second's extension line is not hidden behind the text. If I delete the first text and redraw it, it will then hide the second dim's extension line. The proper solution is to use "Bring to Front" to fix it. But Revit is not giving me this option. I am using 2011 right now. Has this been fixed in newer versions of Revit, or did the programmers never figure we would need to do that?

Mar 15, 2013I've just recently changed jobs and so I'm working on a new (to me) system with Autocad Mechanical 2013. I had been working with Mechanical 2010.
One (of the many) issues that is bothering me, is that I can't seem to scale resize individual dimension. Normally, I'd create the dimensions and then if I needed to tweak the fit, I'd go into the Properties pallet and change the overall scale under Fit. Not really a good standard of practice, I know...
But when I do that on my current system, the dimension doesn't change at all.
On top of that, I have a weird refresh problem. If I grab a dim by the grip and move/stretch it, it doesn't actually show the new position unless I Regen. Is that a setting or maybe just a slow reaction by my computer?

Jul 25, 2012How to display the annotations properly. Perhaps this may just be a display or view setting but I beleive I have checked them all at least 3 times =).
Even in the video he explains all the things explained here but does not explain exactly how to make the dims and ext lines notate and display properly, in model or paper view (view port). I have tried many ways to create a view port in paper space and annotation several dimensions. I constantly get different text sizes and ext line scaled differently within the same view port.....even after I have locked it.
I am also confused about notating dims in the model space within the paper space view port vs on the paper space outside of the model space view port? Perhaps this has something to do with my issues?
Again it may be because I don't understand another function/setting impacting this well enough yet?? I have tried/used every variable in the Dimension Style Manager on the Lines, Text and Fit tabs to no avail.
GIMP :: Create PDF/X-1a That Is Exactly Size (dimensions) Of XCF File
Sep 3, 2013I am trying to create a PDF/X-1a that is exactly the size (dimensions) of the .xcf file (15x12in.). There are two ways to do this that I have found at this point. Export does save the correct size, but I can't find a way to change to the x-1a format, or print to PDF which does save the correct format but doesn't save the correct size. When printing to PDF I go into Preferences>Adobe PDF Settings and change the Default Settings to PDF/X-1a and change the Adobe PDF Page Size to 15x12 (custom created page size). When it prints the PDF ends up as an 8 1/2 X 11 file.
Two notes:
1. When I go to Page Setup in Gimp I cannot set a custom page size .
2. The only reason I need the X-1a format is because when I export to a standard PDF the ink density for the black goes above the 240% limit that I need for the printers. If I could find a way to get the ink density results I need without saving in the X-1a format it would be just as good.

Dec 11, 2011[URL] How is it possible that I place an aligned dimension between two paralel grids and the dimensions changes as I drag it up and down? First of all, in order to be able to place an aligned dimensions the objects have to be absolutely paralel to each other, so I don't get why when I move the dimension it changes. If the grids were really not paralel to each other Revit shouldn't allow me to place the aligned dimension in the first place, isn't that right?
