My computer was bought outside the US and has a non US XP installed. When I installed PS 8 (CS) I wanted it to be US english, but either it was automatically set to to laguage of XP or I accidently selected the wrong laguage. Anyway, now my PS starts in italian instead of english. I tried to uninstall and reinstall but it didn't work! For some reason it seems to remember the first settings. Is there a way to switch laguages in PS?
So, I just downloaded the trial version of Photoshop CS5 and its currently running the 64 bit version. I want to be able to make gifs so I need the 32 bit version. I've been scrolling through the forum and it seems that the sol given doesn't work since I have the trial version.
we should be able to switch using teh Get Info and activate the 32 bit switch. It looks like it works, but every time PS starts up it starts in 64 bit. This is happening on both a SL and Lion version of OS.
I have used Adobe Photoshop programs for quite a while now but I am running into a problem that I have never seen before it happens in Photoshop and Illustrator. When I go to use any tool that requires me to drag the mouse it causes the brush tool to make a single dot and it does not follow the mouse. Untill I switch windows with Alt + Tab and then back again, then it works fine.
I am on a Panasonic Toughbook CF-53 with a Second Gen i5 with a fresh install of win7 x64
Everything else on the computer drags just fine text, selections, even paint works the way it should.Even though it has never worked right, I have reset tools & preferences and reinstalled with no result
I want to switch out that black car with the red color with the same background (doesn't have to be the same red car as below, just a 2012 Red Nissan 370z (with same wheels as below if possible)).
Basically I have an image that I created that has 3 layers. 1 is a bunch of brush strokes that are red, one with strokes that are green, and 1 with strokes that are blue. What I want to do is take the red layer and make all its strokes green, and vice versa, basically just switching the color of everything on the layers. I would think there is some kind of setting I could just change.
First of all I want to introduce myself. My name is Joshua, I'm from beautiful little Switzerland (yeah, lot of chocolate and cheese here!), and I'm a webmaster (HTML, CSS, PHP, Ruby on Rails) and programmer (C, Java, PHP, Ruby).
At the moment I have to rely on other guys to create nice website layouts, but now I want to learn it myself using Photoshop. :-)
My first question is quite simple: I'm working on Mac OS X Tiger and I'd like to switch between buttons in Photoshop dialogs using the tab key... So if I e.g. want to close an image and I'm asked if I want to save the file, then I can't switch to "No" using tab (as a programmer I don't want to use my mouse too often ;-) ).
Is there an option to activate this? In Mac OS X I have activated this option, but in Photoshop it doesn't seem to work...
I have successfully installed Photoshop CS3 onto Windows XP SP2. However, I do not want my install to be completely silent: I want to see a progress bar.
For silent install I use the following switch: setup.exe --mode=silent The next line in cmd says"UI:Silent"
If I use no switches (only type in setup.exe), the next line in cmd is: "UI:Full" Also, "setup.exe --mode=gui" will initiate "UI:Full".
What are other install switches? I want a silent install with a progress bar only.
I don't really like having the little palette buttons show up on the right side with the newer versions of Photoshop. Is there a way to permanently switch those off?
I recently installed PSE 10 on a mac book running OS X 10.6.8
I have 2 issues with Organizer, but I guess both might be linked:
1) I am not able to create more than one catalog. Or let's say I can, but no way I can select them afterwards. Only the last created one gets opened for imports. If I create a new catalogue, I cannot re-open the old one. It is not even listed as being available despite it is well present on the disk (I checked). Since the available catalogs are not present, no way I can try to use 'optimization' ot 'repair' features.
2) When organizer is started, it starts consuming huge CPU cycles, between 30 - 90%...
This looks to me like a bug, but since I cannot even select created catalogs
I have 2 Catalogs. There is nothing on my Organizer screen to allow me to switch between them.No menu bar anywhere--Menu bar used to be at the top of the screen.
I switched to 43 bit mode in CS5 clicking the checkbox in the info. section. I want to switch back but the check box is no longer visible! Where did it go and how can I switch back?
Just a 'heads up' for anyone out there thinking of adding more RAM to their XP system and use the /3GB switch in their boot.ini to increase the RAM available for Photoshop:
If you're using an 'on the motherboard' video card there's a good chance it will no longer work properly (driver will fail to load). With the /3GB switch enabled the onboard video will no longer have access to the RAM it needs when it gets re-routed away from the system (that's what the /3GB does). The solution is to get a separate video card with its own memory.
This will affect some laptop users and anyone else who is trying to simplify their system by using the onboard video features that are common these days.
I'm not certain if this is the case with all systems. But I get the impression it's a known issue.
Coming from Fireworks / Illustrator, Photoshop's layers slow down the workflow when selecting something on another layer. If I could switch layers (i.e. select the next/previous layer) with a keyboard shortcut, that might help. I've looked through the shortcuts and the best I can find is "move layer", but I don't want to alter the document.
Does Adobe have a dictionary to translate menu options or even better a ability to switch language in Photoshop Elements 11?
It's a real pain when you use guides on the internet and they are in for example English and you use a Swedish version of PE11. I have found some English to Swedish translations but only parts of the menu options are covered and mostly for older versions of PE meaning many options are missing in the translations.
When Photoshop switches to Revel, will I still be able to create PNG files and edit them (make transparent backgrounds by outlining them) as usual? Or will all photos have to be JPEG?
I recently downloaded Photoshop for Windows and now have switched to a Mac. Is there anyway I can switch my product registration or download over from a windows to a Mac format? and is there a cost involved, or do I need to start again?
I am using Adobe Photoshop CS5.1 and I am trying to switch from Frames to Timeline in the Animation Panel. I have read in other forums that there should be a menu in the bottom right corner of the panel, but none is appearing in my panel.
I drag a layer on to a pic it goes to free transform and I cant flatten it or do anything even image undo greys out and wont work, I have to close the image to back, I think it must be something I have done but I cant seem to switch off free trasform.
when using keyboard short cuts to swap between tools ps cs6 now defaults to only a "temporary switch" i.e. it reverts back to the previously selected tool imediatly after I release the key. I can not get the tool to stick on the new selection unless I use the mouse to manually select the new tool.
How do I stop this from happening? I want to use short cuts to switch between tools and have it stick.
I have looked else where in the forums and have not found a solution that has worked. Checked that my keyboard is in the proper language, reinstalled photoshop, and double checked every setting I can think of, all to no avail.
This is a new problem, I have not made any recent hardware changes, everything had worked fine until today.
When using the magic wand tool, I would like to be able to switch between contiguous and non contiguous using a keyboard shortcut, is it possible to assign a shortcut?
Okay so I downloaded some brushes and then my photoshop cs6 started to work a lot slower and it just wasn't working right at all. So I deleted the brushes but it didn't change.
So basically the problems are when I try and use a brush the brushing is delayed and when i switch tabs it won't let me back onto the program and when I try and make a simple picture with just text and a photo and then try and save for web this pops up 'This image exceeds the size Save for Web was designed for. You may experience out of memory errors and slow performance. Are you sure you want to continue?'
