Photoshop :: Change Keyboard Shortcuts For Zoom?
May 1, 2013When looking at the keyboard shortcuts for MAC, the 100% zoom is down as command alt '0', yet it is showing in the dropdown list as 'n'?
Is there a way of changing the shortcuts. Previously the 100% zoom was simply command (apple) '0', which is now fit to page. how to change the shortcuts?

Apr 14, 2004I've used Photoshop 7 for around a year now, using it mainly to touch up digital photos. I've just upgraded to Photoshop CS, but I've found that I'm having difficulties with my keyboard.
Usually, to zoom in, I can press CTRL + +. However, when I do this, nothing happens. Also, when I make a mistake with the magnetic lasso tool, I can usually press my Delete key to undo the last fixed point. Again, this doesn't work. All that is on on my keyboard is "Number Lock", which just allows me to use the right hand number keypad. Even with this off, the problems still aren't solved.

Jun 11, 2011In PS, if you hold the Z key and move the mouse/stylus left/right, it smoothly zooms in by small increments, and the zooming is centered on where your mouse is.
I know some will say that Draw shouldn't try to be PS or Illustrator, but this type of functionality is really nice, and it would be great to have something similar.
I have A and D mapped to zoom in/out but it seems like big zoom jumps and it's a little finicky to get the stuff on the screen you want to see at a high enough zoom level without having to use zoom tool and draw a box. To get, the positioning, I have pan once on S key, but getting a good zoom level is still a bit finicky.
Lightroom :: Left / Right Panning In Zoom With Shortcuts
Feb 28, 2013I would like to continue using the Adjustment Brush outside of a currently zoomed area without having to jump out to pan with the mouse to the next area of the image. (If I change from the Adjustment Brush to mouse-click driven panning, I simply lose the end of my formerly brushed (painted) area, because it can be 're-activated' only with its pin, which is outside of the new area where I have just moved by panning with the mouse.)
I can move up and down with the scrolling roll without quitting the Adjustment Brush, but I have not figured out how to pan horizontally with a shortcut (e.g. something like Shift + Left/Right arrow key).
I am aware that by using the Shift + PgUp/PgDn keys I can pan up to the top, then down to the bottom in the adjacent strip, and then up again in the third strip, etc. But this 'vertical zig-zagging' is very time consuming and does not necessarily take me right to the targeted next area.
Is there any shortcut for horizontal panning in Zoom?

Jul 11, 2008I have, up until I got CS3 and the new aluminum keyboard, not had any issues with this.
I have numerous, common actions recorded which have F keys assigned to as shortcuts.
F10, which turns sound off in the OS on an aluminum keyboard, overrides my Photoshop shortcut.
I've lost my 12 or so most common action shortucts in Photoshop because of this! That is about a 5% loss in productivity...
Photoshop :: Zoom: No Anti-alias ( Pixel-exact Zoom)!
Feb 15, 2006I use Photoshop CS2 to create Designs for webpages. These designs have pixel-exact elements, e.g. a 1-pixel-line from top to bottom.
Now when I zoom in (>100, then I have sort of anti-alias, so that the 1-pixel-line isn't only one blue anymore, but it has different blue tones. I guess for photo manipulations etc. this anti-aliasing zoom is great, but for webdesign it sucks because I don't know if only the zoom make the line "corrupt" or if it really is corrupt.
Is there a way to change this zoom?

Feb 27, 2013I am working on getting some settings done, moving from 2008 to 2012. How do you set the Middle Mouse Button (wheel) to either Zoom All or Zoom Extents when you double click it? I thought it was set in the Main CUI file.

Jan 8, 2013My keyboard has a zoom key with + and - selections. I use to use this key in drawings to zoom in and out when in the AutoCAD application when we had Windows XP. Now that I have Windows 7 I can't do this. I can't find out how to assign this key on the Microsoft Keyboard interactive software either. I have the other keys assigned as desired.
Can I still use my keyboard zoom key to zoom in and out in drawings? If so, how do I set this up in AutoCAD, or do I need to do this through a Microsoft keyboard application?

I can't find zoom settings in 3ds max 2013. Where they are? I think that in previous max it was in Customize -> Viewports tab. But now it is not there.

Jan 3, 2004I tried searching the forums for this topic but the search thing didn't seem to work.
A friend of mine installed Photoshop CS for me (an upgrade from 7.0) and for some reason I can't use CTRL + and CTRL - to zoom in and out, I have to use the mouse with the zoom tool which slows me down quite a bit over the course of 20 or so photo edits.
Can anyone shed some light on this? I checked Keyboard shortcuts in the preferences menu and they were correct. I've made no other changes to the program.

Photoshop :: Get A Smooth Edged Cut Out Without Gap?
Oct 10, 2012When trying to cut out a piece of an image such as with cmd shift J with anti aliasing turned on, there is a gap between the cut out and the new image about as wide as the marquee. If I turn anti aliasing off there is no longer a gap, but then I have a very jagged cut out, since may of the pieces I'm cutting out are circular. Is there anyway to still get a smooth edged cut out without the gap?

I've created text in photoshop using a number of different fonts. i've placed antialias on them but they still seem to heve jagged edges!! Can anyone tell me What am i doing or not doing. Ive been using the standard horizontal text tool.
Also i'm teaching myself photoshop using the help section within the software. Do you think this is the most thorough and efficient way to learn?

Jan 13, 2006I'm trying to smooth the edges of an image I have. Would like to try two things.
First is,- simply smooth the edges (this is an image with people in it, and not a shape,-so I don't get the wanted effect when I do "Gaussian blur" as the whole image is being blured).
Another thing I would like to achieve is i.e. having a 600*800 image(white background) with a smaller image in the middle. Then somehow manage to blure the edges of the image and by using a gradient colour to make the blured edges cover the empty area around the pic as well... (The gradient to start at the edge on each corner of the pic and finish at outer edges of 600*800 image)..
Also, is it possible to draw a frame? Have a pic which I would like to create a tilted frame around (CTRL+T). Only manage to draw a coloured square/circle, then having to cut out the middle of the square to see the image on the layer beneath.
Created a new style in "Layer style", but where do I find this saved style?..

Jun 8, 2006I use the magic eraser to erase the background of an object particuly orbs/balls/sphears the circle always comes out lumpy or not well rounded how do I fix this? I found a website that tells about it but I forgot the address of it.
It seems the ball is perfectly round but when I get rid of the white background the ball turns lumpy with bumps on the edges....

Oct 16, 2008feathering not being smooth. When applying a vignette to a portrait the feathered result looks more like a topographical map than nice smooth transitions. I have tried every possible combination in "Refine Edge", and this seems to have started the same time that Bridge started locking up on me. I have been seeing this on my finished portraits when they come back from the lab - so it isn't my display .
I am using PS CS3 on an XP lap top.

Jul 24, 2009When I type using "Smooth" font smoothing and the font size is small, all my characters appear in boxes (see image below). It does not happen if the font size is larger (say above 14pt). It also does not happen if I use "Crisp" or "Strong" but it happens to "None" as well. I encountered this problem in CS4 with OpenGL enabled. I turned it off but the problem remained. I also tried to open the same file in CS2 and the problem was exactly the same. I have not encountered this problem in other applications. I've updated my graphics drivers but no change.Thanks! Instead of an even lightening there is a distinct hard edge at some point in the transition from dark sky to light. I am running Windows 2000, Photoshop CS with 2 GB of ram. what I can do or change settings in PS.
