View 5 RepliesI've made a fabulous Smoke Text effect that I then insert the .mov file into Final Cut Pro. The smoke effect I downloaded from the tutorial has a black background and therefore when rendered out, it's a basic white text against a black background. Once in FCP, I have to turn the file's opacity down in order for it to layer over a video file and not black out what I layer over it.
How can I make the file transparent? A simple toggle of the transparency grid isn't going to do it. I need to make or find a video of smoke that is transparent?
i'm making a sig for a mate on some forums we use and i need a good smoke effect for the gif i have made inn ps and imageready. I'm a bit of a beginner i have loads of plug-ins. I wan t a cartoony effect to fit with the rest of the pic.

View 1 Replies View RelatedIt is possible to duplicate/copy a clip/gap effect on the timeline? Or do you *have to* drag/copy it to a Source Area first? In this particular case, I've got 3 gap effects that I'm essentially using as adjustment layers...for some reason I thought I could hold down F & drag them somewhere else in the timeline which would create a duplicate and drag them to wherever I dropped them. But maybe not...? In the meantime, I just copied them to a Source Area, and then dropped them back on the timeline where I needed them, which worked just fine.

It showed up as expected on the left side of the player BUT the Audio FX desk we used to see in the classic interface showed up on the right side of the player. That was awesome but today I activated the audio desk and only the mixer on the left showed up.

I know that the AJA Kona 3 card has 2 outputs. Can Smoke send one eye to one channel and the other eye to the other of the Kona 3 card? Dual Stream output is what I am really getting at.

What I want is basically to create effects that can be used in life event to the streaming music.
After intalling Premiere pro CS6 and After effects CS6, I installed add-ons for these programs (newblue, boris, prodad...). When I open After Effects it gives me 38 cases of effects (Detail Enhancer, noise Reducer...) redundant in other programs, telling me to get rid of them.
When I check these effects in my programs, they are mainly .aex files, located in Premiere Pro CS6, Adobe Common Plug-ins, NewBlue Video effects collections 1 to 6. Some of them also exist in avid /pinnacle studio programs (my former video tools I still use to close previous video projects) before concentrating in Adobe CS6 suite. I don't know what to remove in a safe way. Premiere pro CS6 doesn't worry about redundancies ! Only After Effects...

In Combustion, you would draw a selection and then apply an operator above the selection to achieve this. I don't see a similar selection tool function in Smoke, but I imagine you could achieve the same effect by duplicating a layer and using a Gmask via the Wipe timeline FX.does Smoke not have a selection tool similar to Combustion?

Seems to happen for really no reason, even if I apply the effect and let the comp sit idle, it hapens after a minute or so.

I have made a short film of 6 minutes (in 6 parts on after effects) I have added all the effects and the camera work on AE, but it needs a lot of editing here and there, which I find impossible to do on AE since you can't cut and join scenes like Premier pro. I need to import all these sequences onto premier pro for editing now. The problem is once I import the files, it imports in the right order in systematic folders etc, but it doesn't show any of the camera work or the special effects like gaussian blur etc. All my hard work has gone.
There must be a way you can import the after effects file on premier the way it looks on AE.
Another problem is I read some boards and it has been suggested to edit the clips first on premier and then add effects on AE but I read this really late and I've already composited the whole film on AE. I just need premier for cutting now.
P.S: I also thought about exporting the AE sequences as TGA files but there's ZERO space left in my internal hard disk for that, and it would take forever to export them all anyway. Any other kind of export would reduce the original quality which I dont want, and which I dont have space for anyway, so that option is out as well.
I'm getting the same error on a project. Originally created in CC/Mac, down converted to CS6/PC (I don't yet have the exact version release). The sequence is 10 layers deep, and throws this error if we try to preview. If 8 of the 10 layers are turned off, then the sequence will preview as normal. So, is this a bug and is there a CS 6 version release that fixes this, or am I looking to reallocate RAM?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI’m trying to add some text effects over my video, but I’m really stuck right now getting After Effects and Adobe Premier to work together.
From the tutorials I’ve watched online, I’ve been trying to create a dynamic link between the two programs so I could easily create texts and other effects in AE that immediately show up on my timeline in Premier. I've been able to create texts, but whatever I create in AE is not showing up on the Premier timeline. Am I missing a step? Also, when I load up my sequence into AE, all of the color correcting that I’ve done with Looks inside Premier goes away, and the clips appear as they did right out of the camera.
