I've just started using CS4 and the pen pressure when drawing using my wacom tablet seems to be sporadic at best.
It doesn't matter what brush size I pick, when I start drawing, however lightly, the brush will frequently, and it appears randomly, just draw a line to its full thickness. It's annoying because it sort of responds to the pen pressure but then will just suddenly stick a big thick line in for no reason.
Things I have already tried to fix this:
•adjusting the flow %
•playing with the pen presure slidey bar in brush menu/ shape dynamics
•adjusting the pen sensitivity in the wacom tablet setup.
What's really annoying is have been using my tablet with photoshop 5 for years and it's worked perfectly. CS4 seems to be quite buggy though. It crashed today after telling me something about gpu enhancements (?) and zooming using the wacom slider sometimes decides not to work.
I'm using a Cintiq 18sx, and its pressure sensitivity is working great in programs such as Flash, but when it comes to photoshop, there is absolutely no brush sensitivity.
I have gone into the brush shape dynamics settings and set it to pen pressure, but finds nothing. I'm not exactly sure what to do now.
I know that there must be a button staring me in the face but I can't find it.
My healing brush is pressure sensitive for size, but I don't want it to be. I've turned all the options off in the brush palette but it makes no difference. I cannot see any option on the option bar for this either. PS8
I just bought a pressure sensitve tablet (wacom intuos5 medium). Â I want to set it up so I can practice "charcoal drawing" in photoshop without the mess. Specifically, I want the pressure to control the darkness of the brush tool, from very faint to completely black. Â So, in the brushes window, I enabled "other dynamics" and set the flow control to pen pressure. It works but not very well. It's hard to draw a faint line, and faint lines appear to be made up of discrete circles. Â I also try linking the opacity to the pen pressure, and set flow to 100%. This work better for faint lines, but I'm unable to draw a completely black line. It seems the opacity maxed out at about 40%. I don't want to apply too much pressure lest I break the tablet.
So I'm attempting to draw in Photoshop, but every time I put the pen on the tablet, the slightest pressure opens the brush size menu off to the side of my pen. I can't figure out how to turn this off. I can't sketch at all .
I have just purchased a Microsoft Surface Pro in anticipation of running Photoshop on it. I installed Photoshop and tried to do some sketches. I created a new file and started sketching. I Immediately felt like something was wrong. I checked my brush settings and saw the pressure sensitivity was not available. Everytine I tried to turn it on it was marked with an exclamation point.  Does Adobe is supporting the new pressure sensitive pen from microsoft, or if there is some sort of setting that I am missing? I have tried sketchbook pro 2011, and that works amazingly well with the pen.Â
Intuos5 pressure-sensitive tablet Win7 64-bit PS 5.5  In Photoshop 5, if I turn on the pressure sensitivity while using the Clone tool (and perhaps other tools as well...) I have to bear down very hard to make the pixels being cloned appear in the entire circle [brush] specified. The behavior I want is, instead, to be able to CHOOSE 1. pressure changes size of the flow within the brush [size]setting or 2. the full brush size places cloned pixels on the image at a rate of flow directly controlled by the pressure I exert on the pen nib.  There are some kinds of images that need to go back and forth easily between the two choices. Behavior now is just #1.
I have PSE 11. When working with the Bloat or Pucker tools in the Liquify filter, the Brush Pressure option fades to gray; the only slider I can actually change is the Brush Size. The problem seems to have started about three weeks ago on my old laptop, which was due to be replaced in any case. I've since purchased a new laptop and have done a full install of PSE 11 on it from the original disks - but the problem still persists.
What I would like to do is to get the stroke shape, pressure and maybe velocity after a `Brush Tool' drawing action is triggered by the user, i.e. after a simple drawing operation.
I have been using the ScriptListener plugin, but it does not record this type of operation: changing the brush parameters (e.g. size and opacity), yes, but the actual drawing action, no.
I am using illustrator for doing some calligraphy and I am not really experienced with this program. I am using a mouse pen with pressure to draw/write calligraphies. My question is, can I change the pressure amount after I drew lines using brush tool. Let’s say I drew a line, it is good but still not satisfactory. I just want to do a little change in pressure amount in some segments –not all the line- on line. Does illustrator give me this option?
In Photoshop CS6 (64bit), when using the brush tool (with a brush with pressure sensitivity activated), I quite often get a line drawn at the max width selected, as if there was no pressure sensitivity. Everything goes back to normal after I start drawing another line, and happens again after a few lines. It's quite random. Â Â I don't have this problem in any other software (Illustrator CS6 64bit, Painter XII, Sketchbook Pro, Zbrush, ...). I have already checked and I've found some other users on other forums with the same problem.
One example, with a picture of the problem: [URL] Another one, exact same problem: [URL] Some of those users seem to have solved their problem by installing an old driver (6.1.5r3), but they had that problem with Intuos TABLETS in the first place, not a Cintiq 24HD... I have tried that, but unfortunately the driver is not compatible with the Cintiq 24HD. Â Â To test this out: I've been able to reproduce the problem 90% of the times I've tried. if I keep the pen at 1 inch from the display so that it's still recognized by the screen but it's not drawing, then wiggle it a bit, and then I slowly move to the screen and tap it (as if I was starting a line with very low pressure), the problem appears and it makes a large dot, as if there was no pressure sensitivity. As I said the test doesn't work every time, but almost. Â Â This is an image of what happens when I try and make dots in Photoshop. These are done trying to push the pen with the same (low) pressure. The big ones are from when the issue appears: [URL]Â Â I have tried the pressure test in the Wacom utility software and it seems to work fine, it never jump to full even when I try the method I've just described. In the diagnostic page of the Wacom utility software the pressure is always correct, even when in Photoshop there's the brush sensitivity issue. Â note: I've already tried to completely re-install my computer + the Adobe software + the lastest wacom driver for my Cintiq 24HD, and the problem is still the same.
I have desktop PC with optical mouse photoshop CS5 when I try to use pen pressure feature of brush, I got a pale trangle beside said " require pressure sensitive tablet"..So; can I use the pen pressure feature?
So, I haven't been using Illustrator (CS5) for a two weeks and I always create calligraphy brushes on the go, so I don't save them. However, out of the blue, I can't change the brush diameter to change with pressure nor the other options because they're greyed out. Â Im using a Genius G-Pen M712X and mac osx 10.6.8..

shows my selection . Drawing a straight line  [URL]........  Zooming in to the line (600%) you can see i can draw a marquee through half of it ...  [URL].........  No matter what 1 single pixel brush i use this will happen... no matter which computer i use cs6 on and different copies of the installation.  Anyway have any insight into this? frankly... it's somewhat limiting that i can't use the brush for stroking a shape if i need a pixel line and yet soft curves that a pencil won't get you.Â
The brush preview size does not match brush stroke. I've insert a pic of the problem. I tried allmost everythning, but nothing works. Â I use a wacom tablet.
I'm a web developer but have little knowledge of Photoshop. I got a web design job to create something very similar to URL.... Firstly i want to know how to make a brush mild like the white brush on that website. It doesn't overshadow the blue background.
There are a few things I just don't get about brush settings. Sometimes it seems my brushes go all wonky.  When I change the settings for 1 brush... say I add some jitter to a smooth brush - then suddenly the other brushes get the same jitter applied to them.  How can I set the brushes so that each brush has a different setting that doesn't change when I change any other brush settings?  p.s. I also don't get why Adobe has you lock a brush by UNlocking it? Seems to me it should be the other way around?
I have contacted Adobe about issues with Photoshop brushes recently. My issue is that the brush size is smaller than the circle that represents the brush. In other words, when I hoover over the area that I want to paint or erase with the circle and then click, the painted or erased area is smaller that the circle. It's really frustrating when fine tuning an image, you never know how close you are to what you want to correct. This is only visible when you zoom in quit a bit. I worked with an Adobe tech for over an hour and he could not simulate the problem. Then he finally asked if I was using a retina display, (he was not).Â
the brush, stamp brush and eraser tools are giving me a hard time the actual working area from the tool is so much smaller than the outside frame of it URL....
i'm using cs6.the picture i'm working with was enlarged to 400%.the brush, stamp brush tool was at size: 12px, hardness 100%.opacity 100% Â in the presettings i saw the brush was set to normal size.also i played with the jitter sizes, to no avail.
