Photoshop Elements :: Unable To Control Brush Width With Wacom Intuos 5 Pressure Sensitivity?
Dec 25, 2013I have it enabled in the tablet properties. Windows 7 64bit.
View 1 RepliesI have it enabled in the tablet properties. Windows 7 64bit.
View 1 RepliesI am using PSCS 3 and I have a wacom Intuos 2 tablet I used to use. Recently I hooked it back up as I am going to start doing more illustration (just been doing photography and using lightroom).
Â
PS is not reacting to the sensitivity settings. I downloaded the latest Wacom drivers today and when I open the wacom control panel the setting show the pen sensitivity is working. In the PS brushes panel I have tried "shape" dynamics and "other" dynamics both set to "pen presure" and still no effect. I've tried adjusting the sliders from 0%, to 50% and 100% all with no effect. Also for some reason PS does not recognize the eraser. It just acts like the pen. Again, in the wacom control panel when I look at the eraser it recognizes it (doesn't resond if I use the pen side).
In Photoshop CS6 (64bit), when using the brush tool (with a brush with pressure sensitivity activated), I quite often get a line drawn at the max width selected, as if there was no pressure sensitivity. Everything goes back to normal after I start drawing another line, and happens again after a few lines. It's quite random. Â
Â
I don't have this problem in any other software (Illustrator CS6 64bit, Painter XII, Sketchbook Pro, Zbrush, ...). I have already checked and I've found some other users on other forums with the same problem.
One example, with a picture of the problem: [URL] Another one, exact same problem: [URL] Some of those users seem to have solved their problem by installing an old driver (6.1.5r3), but they had that problem with Intuos TABLETS in the first place, not a Cintiq 24HD... I have tried that, but unfortunately the driver is not compatible with the Cintiq 24HD.
 Â
To test this out: I've been able to reproduce the problem 90% of the times I've tried. if I keep the pen at 1 inch from the display so that it's still recognized by the screen but it's not drawing, then wiggle it a bit, and then I slowly move to the screen and tap it (as if I was starting a line with very low pressure), the problem appears and it makes a large dot, as if there was no pressure sensitivity. As I said the test doesn't work every time, but almost.
 Â
This is an image of what happens when I try and make dots in Photoshop. These are done trying to push the pen with the same (low) pressure. The big ones are from when the issue appears: [URL]Â
Â
I have tried the pressure test in the Wacom utility software and it seems to work fine, it never jump to full even when I try the method I've just described. In the diagnostic page of the Wacom utility software the pressure is always correct, even when in Photoshop there's the brush sensitivity issue.
Â
note: I've already tried to completely re-install my computer + the Adobe software + the lastest wacom driver for my Cintiq 24HD, and the problem is still the same.
Very light paint strokes on my Wacom Intuos 3 produce a full force stroke in CS4 every 3 to 15 strokes. Anybody else have this problem? This does not happen with CS2. Also, using the Wacom diagnostics, I can make endless light strokes and never see the pressure go above 16%. I'm using CS4 11.0.1, Wacom driver 6.1.1-3, Nvidia GeForce 6800 with drivers updated, Windows XP.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI got this issue since I got my new windows system.Â
Â
I do my daily Photoshop session with my Wacom Intuos 4, then randomly later, sensitivity of the pen turns off. The only way to recover the problem is to reboot Photoshop and sometime the whole system.Â
Â
why it doing that?
Â
I downloaded the latest Wacom drivers and Photoshop CS4 is up to date and the problem still persist.
I bought a Wacom cintiq 22hd online and before it arrived I imagined before it came that all I would have to do is plug it in and install the software and that would be it but no....Â
This turned out to be a real nightmare to use, first after I finished calibrating the tablet this annoying loading circle kept appearing around the point every time I tried to draw something, Then after I had been able to fix it from running around the internet looking for solutions the pressure sensitive feature stopped working I looked around again to find a solution and people were saying update the driver software and I did then after rebooting my machine it no longer works and every time i tried to view the tablet settings it kept saying "THE TABLET DRIVER WAS NOT FOUND"
I had to uninstall the driver and recalibrate it and the pressure sensitive feature still isn't working. Personally I think this is complete BS I can't understand why Wacom a highly regarded company would delibratelly make their tablets more complicated to use than they need to be, I really am clueless as to what I can do to fix this I don't think reinstalling the "WacomTablet_635-3" driver software. What I can do I am using Windows 7 64 bit
Well because i went to the wacom forum site to try and get some answers but when I went to go sign up for an account it kept saying that my criteria was invalid even though it wasn't another reason to loose faith in Wacom and their useless business structure and unuseful customer support.
I have a Wacom Intuos 3 tablet, photoshop CS6 and Windows 7. The pressure sensitivity of my tablet won't work anymore. Roughly, it said to uninstall my wacom driver, unplug the tablet, reboot, install driver, plug in the tablet and reset my preferences in photoshop. I've done this last night and it worked, I was thrilled but it was late, was exhausted,When I turned it back on and went in photoshop this morning it didn't work anymore, pressure sensitivity was gone again. I get this little warning in my brush settings when I try to put it on Pen Pressure or tilt or other setting that requires pressure sensitivity, The only way I can get it to work is with the process I mentioned (uninstalling driver, unplugging tablet, rebooting etc...) but I'd need to do this every time I shut down my computer and that's a bit of a pain..I've also tried installing different drivers, the latest one first, when that didn't work I tried older ones to see if it would make a difference to no avail.
View 11 Replies View RelatedMy Intuos 3 tablet and pen do not perform correctly using CS5. The same machine, using the same tablet and pen and the same brush, with CS3Â and Corel Painter function correctly so I am assuming it's CS5 that's the problem. The brush seems to set an anchor point where the pen first contacts the tablet, then no matter where you draw with the brush nothing happens until the pen is lifted, then a straight line is drawn from the anchor point to the point where the pen lifted. Problem is with CS5 x32 and x64 both. Happens every brush stroke. Mouse works fine. Reset the preference file. Upgraded drivers for the tablet. The machine is an HP, quad core processor, 8 GB ram, with an ATI Radeon HD 3200 Graphics card. The machine came loaded with Vista 64 and I upgraded to Windows 7 at the time I installed CS5.
View 9 Replies View RelatedIs their a way to get the pressure sensitivity of my Wacom Bamboo Capture tablet working with GIMP. Is tablets pressure sensitivity still unavailable to GIMP 2.8.2 Mac OS X?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI Bought a Wacom Bamboo Tablet when I first discovered Paint.net and then soon after they removed pressure sensitivity from the software. So now any plugin created for it so I can use my Tablet again.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm using a Cintiq 18sx, and its pressure sensitivity is working great in programs such as Flash, but when it comes to photoshop, there is absolutely no brush sensitivity.
I have gone into the brush shape dynamics settings and set it to pen pressure, but finds nothing. I'm not exactly sure what to do now.
This has been a problem since I began using CS3.
My Brush opacity reponds to pen pressure of my wacom tablet even if it is deactivated in the Transfer dynamics control

I have a DigiPro WP5540 and I've installed the driver and the software and everything. In CS6 I go to shape dynamics and it doesn't allow me to do anything. It just has a warning icon next to it:
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have just purchased a Microsoft Surface Pro in anticipation of running Photoshop on it. I installed Photoshop and tried to do some sketches. I created a new file and started sketching. I Immediately felt like something was wrong. I checked my brush settings and saw the pressure sensitivity was not available. Everytine I tried to turn it on it was marked with an exclamation point.Â
Â
Does Adobe is supporting the new pressure sensitive pen from microsoft, or if there is some sort of setting that I am missing? I have tried sketchbook pro 2011, and that works amazingly well with the pen.Â
In Illustrator CS6 demo, is the blob brush's pressure sensitivity disabled? Pressure isn't selectable and I don't know why.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm looking to get a wacom tablet, but I'm not really sure what tablet it best for digital art and animation type stuff. I'll be using it with Photoshop CS6 and probably Toon Boom or some other animation software. I'm just not sure what the difference is between the tablets.

In Photoshop 5, if I turn on the pressure sensitivity while using the Clone tool (and perhaps other tools as well...) I have to bear down very hard to make the pixels being cloned appear in the entire circle [brush] specified. The behavior I want is, instead, to be able to CHOOSE 1. pressure changes size of the flow within the brush [size]setting or 2. the full brush size places cloned pixels on the image at a rate of flow directly controlled by the pressure I exert on the pen nib.
Â
There are some kinds of images that need to go back and forth easily between the two choices. Behavior now is just #1.
In Illustrator CS2, is there any way to set the width of a tool to grow when more pressure is applied (talking about for use with a tablet)
I know it's under PSCS2 under brushes>shape dynamics>size jitter>control=pen pressure. Is there any equivalent for Illustrator?
My tablet is a new Wacom Cintiq Companion with a Windows 8 platform, which I recently got Photoshop Elements 12 for. I use this software mainly for drawing. When I first started using the software everything was fine, but somewhere along the line I noticed that it would randomly loose pressure sensitivity. This occurs more often when I am making short strokes or sketching. I have experimented with other software that I have on my tablet, and am fairly certain that it is a Photoshop Elements problem. It impairs not only drawing but also writing notes.
I tested it out by making a bunch of short lines in a row, and found that it will also sometimes connect two strokes with a straight line (while loosing pressure sensitivity) for no apparent reason. This happens especially while I am writing notes. I also discovered that if I make enough small strokes it will sometimes loose pressure sensitivity entirely. However if I leave the program alone for a couple of minutes and then come back, everything is back to normal.
My tablet is a fairly new model, so I wonder if it is a compatibility issue of some sort (I am only guessing and have no knowledge of problems like this).
my brushes no longer respond to the penpressure on my intuous 4.... but they still work in art rage....so I do not think it is the driver
View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently became a subscriber to the creative cloud as well as recently getting a wacom intuos 5. The problem is, my new photoshop cc, does not show that I have a pressure sensitve tablet.
Is there a new driver from adobe that I need to install? I checked the Wacom site and as far as I can tell I have the newest driver available. Also, I do have photoshop cs5.5 could these two versions of photoshop be causing a problem when it comes to the tablet?
regarding painting with my Wacom tablet.
When I use the brush tool in CS, it defaults to pressure effecting the brush size. I want the pressure to effect the opacity instead. I have looked all through my brush options, etc.
my brand new intuos 4 and set things up and start using it; I installed the software and downloaded new drivers the tablet and pen function well enough will the mouse pointer full functionality in windows however none of my express keys or touch ring functions work; same with if I create a new keyboard shortcut button for my pen buttons ie to select the brush tool or "b" I understand this is more of a Wacom issue. I have sent an email into Waxom tech support regarding this and waiting to hear back.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI've been using Photoshop 6.x with my Intuos 5 for almost a year and it's been great. I recently purchased Lightroom 5.2 only to discover that when I use the spot edit tool that it freezes when i use this tool as a brush. It starts off smooth, but after brushing across my area i want to clone/heal, Lightroom seems to freeze up, and the spot edit tool is unusable. I can lift my pen off the tablet and a few seconds later Lightroom comes back, but the tablet is basically unusable to me. The mouse works perfectly fine.
Lightroom version: 5.2 [922700]
Operating system: Windows 7 Ultimate Edition
Version: 6.1 [7601][code].....
When I move my mouse over the drawing area, the brush simply freezes at the corner next to the rulers, the regular cursor continues to move and I can click on the buttons, tools and menu, but my mouse is not functioning in the workspace, I can use my wacom tablet fine, but I still need my mouse to be functional for lassoo tools etc.
It is a very recent install, I may have some how buggered the mouse input when configuring my wacom.
I'm running Arch Linux, with KDE.
I am having problems with my brushes in Photoshop CS4. Everything was fine till recently. I use XP on a PC. I am using a wacom tablet and the brush sensitivity is not working in Photoshop CS4. When I go to the brush drop down or the brush palatte, the brushes are not pressure sensitive for opacity or size as they should be. Yet I have pen pressure selected in shape dynamics & other dynamics. I tried in CS3 which I also have installed and it works fine there and I can use the pen pressure. I spoke with wacom and we updated the driver. Adobe said to reinstall CS 4 which I did…and I still have the problem. BTW, there is a gray exclamation mark next to the shape and other dynamics control drop down window. No one seems to know exactly what this means.I assume it isn't the wacom driver or hardware, as it works fine in CS3. It makes sense to me that the problem is with CS4, but I still have it after reinstalling. Any ideas. I have talked to wacom and adobe multiple times and can't get this resolved.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a Calcomp DrawingBoard lll with pressure sensitive stylus which works fine in other applications like Painter 11 but loses its pressure capabilities in CS4 (both AI and PS). The stylus behaves like a mouse but in shape dynamics the pen pressure settings show a warning sign and in AI they are grayed out. It performed correctly in CS3.
