View 7 RepliesIs it possible to lock a text box to prevent it from moving but still be able to input & edit text?I want to make a drawing template in CorelDraw x6 using text boxes for "non Corel friendly" people to use but need the actual text boxes to stay in the same place all the time!?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI want to select part of an image with just one layer. Say I just flattened the image and have to move one part of. I select it with the rectangular select tool. It seems intuitive that I could then just move what I selected, but when I drag the selection, the selection itself moves without moving what is inside the selection.
If I then remember to click the move tool and try to move what's in the selection (seems to work sometimes, maybe when there's multiple layers?) the entire image moves.
The only way I can move part of the image over is if I make a selection and then cut it (ctrl X) then paste it.
How am I supposed to move part of the flattened image, is there a way I can set it to default to "When I select something, I can immediately drag that selected area around."
I used to be able to drag text with my mouse. Now, out of the blue, when I click on a text layer and try to move it with my mouse, CS automatically deselects my text layer and selects the background layer or a shape. Why is it automatically deselecting the text layer and selecting the background?! So, I can only move text with my arrow keys!
View 7 Replies View RelatedI did not make the picture but if I would like to move a text that is on the image, how can I do so without touching the background? Since I did not make the picture, I do not have layers on it.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've been using PS7 for a long time and this has never happened before. One minute things were fine and then something changed. Maybe I hit a combination of keys .... well here's the issue. I type text onto a blank layer. I try to move the text. In the pallette, the cursor drops off the text layer, and onto the background, instead. In order to move the text, I wind up clicking on it numerous times, or if I click on it very slowly, I can grab it to move it. This is not how it was working just yesterday. I'm sure this sounds confusing, I'm just not sure how to describe it any better. (It's not my mouse, I tried a different one.) I tried Adobe's help site and saw this:"Clicking in an image with a type tool puts the type tool in edit mode. You can enter and edit characters when the tool is in edit mode; however, you must commit changes to the type layer before you can perform some operations. To determine if a type tool is in edit mode, look in the options bar--if you see the Commit button (a check)Â and Cancel button (circle with slash), the type tool is in edit mode."

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am new to CS4, and not too familiar with Photoshop or After Effects, and I was wondering how would be best to do this: 1 - I need to mask the label on the cover of the Blush jar, where it says "MICA BELLA cosmetices" and replace it with another name. The photo moves from left to right in the video so whatever change I make has to move with it. In fact there are a few photos in which I need to do the same, and the jars are at different locations and angles. 2 - Also, at the botton of the pic, below the white line I need to put another word to cover "MICA BELLA" and I'm wondering how best to copy the color scheme across the lettering. I do not know how the original was created.

Is that something that is done with Photoshop or is there a program out there that people use most often in that manor?
I just purchased Video Studio X6. How do I get the text from X5 into X6?
View 6 Replies View RelatedWhen I enter text into an image, the letters are surrounded by the moving selection dashes, the font colour is not there, the image turns a strange red colour and I cannot get rid of the selection dashes.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've recently upgraded to X5 and now have a problem with text moving when editing.
As you can see in the image below, the text moves down and to the right and in this case making the red spell check line cut through the text.Â
Also, on another note - I've just noticed that the character spacing now seems to affect the whole text box, whereas before it would to it per paragraph. Does this mean all my older files will need to be edited to display right in X5?
I am, as of now, trying to learn the VB.NET programming for AutoCAD applications from scratch .
The question I wanted to ask the devs out there is that, is there any way or a function to move a text object within a layer to a different geometric location? I was thinking it could be accomplished by translating the text or offsetting it.
I just went from AutoCAD 2011 to 2012.
I move dims manually around quite often.
In 2011 I could select dim, Right click, Type "X" to bring up the move dim sub menu, Then either "M" to move dim alone or "L" to move it with a leader.
I can't seem to do that in 2012. I have to hover the mouse over the dim text grip point and wait for a menu to pop-up.
Obviously the former is way faster and I would like that back.
Also on a side note, I'm noticing 2012 to be ever so slightly slower. Micro second delays here and there. Extremely annoying when you're used to instant commands. Biggest culprit seems to be the move command. It hangs for a split second when I invoke the command. (and no I don't have properties up). Is this something I just need to get used too?
I opened 2 separate hi res pdfs (the front and back of a postcard) in illustrator 5.1. The type on both sides had been outlined and we just relinked the background image on both sides after we did some color adjustments to it. The only type on the front was the name of the company and the headline. Both were white type in separate magenta bars. The type was centered both horizontally and vertically in each bar.
Â
When I opened the front, the headline text moved from being centered horizontally on the pdf to EXACTLY flush right with the company name. There were no problems with the text moving on the back side.
Â
We have been receving files from this client for several years and always make color adjustments due to the uncoated paper stock we print on and have never encountered this before. The original files that the supplied pdfs were made from were also created in illustrator 5.
I have probably a very simple problem but cannot figure out how to do it. I am adding text to a drawing and I want several leaders to be associated with this single text. I add my first text at tow head and then do a add vertex/leader. It will not let me add one unless it is on a line.
And it adds it but then I cannot get it off the line. I have tried holding down the shift, control and alt key before, during and after I have highlighted the arrowhead to move.
Is there a way to move the horizontal text of a vertical dimension that's outside of the extension lines to the right or left?
This was possible years ago with a simple stretch or moving of the text grip. Now, if the dimension is above the extension lines, the text is to the right. If it is below the extension lines, the text is to the left.
I've noticed something keeps happening: when I bring a button in from the design gallery and I change the text on the button from "button" to "click here" or whatever, the text is no longer centered in the button. When I check the Mouse-Over layer, the text is also misaligned. When I go to center the text on one layer, it then gets misaligned on the other!
The only way I've found around it is to make the button in a new document and then cut & paste it into the web page.
I just upgraded from ACAD 2007 3d to 2012 3d. The rest of my organization is using a "mix" of older versions, so we still save to the 2004 format. Text objects "moving" to different locations or disappearing on opening files in newer versions of ACAD? I've had two instances so far. In one case, a 2012 LT user added a leader/text and the 2000 LT user could see it. The text was clearly there in the 2012 users file. In the other case, I opened a file I worked on in 2007 and text objects seem to be moved about randomly when looking at it in 2012. Everything still looks good with the file opened in the 2007 though.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm creating text along a path and then stroking the outline and adding a gradient fill - this is all fine. The problem comes when I want to move it, as once the text is added along the path, it often doesn't follow the path until the end so I'd like to centre it on the page, or maybe move it vertically a bit to fit around other stuff as I add to the image.

Sometimes when I try to copy and paste a logo, that has text around the outside of it, the text will move from its original location. How do I get this to stop? I have attached a file that is currently doing this.
I am using PSP version 6.10.48 - 64 bit on Windows 7.
I saw a video and read some instructions about adding and modifying text and I just keep getting confused. For the most part, I am trying to add some text to a photo and I get messed up.
I am using managed classes to insert multiple block references into model space. I wish to insert a block and then move it (change its Position) which I can do. The problem is that my attributes associated with this block reference do not move.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a video clip of a train moving across the tracks. The camera also pans to follow the path of the train. I want text to sit on the top of the first car of the train as its travels from left to right.
Â
I used Track Camera and then parented text to the Null object.Â
Â
The problem is that the text has to adjust in size and perspective as the train moves along.    Â
I have tried keyframing these options but the result appears jittery and jumpy as if the text is dancing on top of the train.    Â
The text should be the exact width of the first train. Â
Tiny in the distance and then large as it approaches cameras. Â
Â
Also, there appears to be a bug with the text object not displaying the font correctly.  I have tried many fonts and each appears inconsistent. I have attached a screen grab.Â
Â
The red text is how the characters should appear given my font choice. The red is NOT tied to the null object; its just a text layer.    The black font is tied to the null object. You can obserce that certain characters are bold and others not. Overall this looks nothing like the font is supposed to appear.
Please note that both titles are the same font. password for the vimeo clip is :Â train-tracker
I am trying to enlarge the text from an exported cad drawing from Dialux (lighting calculation software)...it has exported a field of values over a large area but the text is really small and illegible when its plotted as an A1 pdf
Is there anyway to blow all the text values up at once without moving them from their positions with relation to the boundaries of the roads and buildings? Here is a screenshot of the view with CAD...this is a small area of the entire scheme and those little black smudges are the numbers i need to scale
CAD Screenshot.jpg
I guess in a 3D program this would be equivalent to having the pivot point located in the centre of each set of numbers so you could scale them using the centre of each number as its scale point but I am stumped by how to do this in Autocad Architecture 2011..
I am using AutoCad 2012, with CADDUCT. On my runs of duct that go vertical, I like to stack my tag numbers beside the riser in order, so our installers can easily identify the order without a ton of section views. I am trying to figure out a macro that will do numerous things. Since my tags come out at different rotation angles, I would like to do the following commands.
Rotate object text "TAG #" to 0 degrees
move object text "TAG #" to "Snap from" & "snap insert" 6" below the tag above it
I want the numbers to align by their insert locations up and down the page, and exactly 6" on center vertically from one another. The tag numbers have a node justified to the center up and down of the text.
