View 3 Replies View RelatedI want to select part of an image with just one layer. Say I just flattened the image and have to move one part of. I select it with the rectangular select tool. It seems intuitive that I could then just move what I selected, but when I drag the selection, the selection itself moves without moving what is inside the selection.
If I then remember to click the move tool and try to move what's in the selection (seems to work sometimes, maybe when there's multiple layers?) the entire image moves.
The only way I can move part of the image over is if I make a selection and then cut it (ctrl X) then paste it.
How am I supposed to move part of the flattened image, is there a way I can set it to default to "When I select something, I can immediately drag that selected area around."
I am going to do a clean installation of Windows 7 pro 64bit. Now I am running Win XP pro and I would like to keep my Projects that I have created with my VideoStudio pro x3. All my capturing videos are on another drive. What files should I backup so I can reinstate them on win 7?

The logo could even be a dot which moves, I just don't know the easiest way to achieve this.
I have added some pictures too the timeline(slideshow) and i want too add some pictures between items on the timeline. i would like to move items too the right side, including music, text that is already placed underneath the pictures.
With adobe premiere this is really simple, i have watched about 100 clips at you tube but can't find it. I have tried using the CTRL key but than i need to select each item seperate...way to much work to select hundreds of items.
I want to create a highlight around a player; I think I can use track motion (Pro X6) to follow the player, but is there a way to highlight a small area around him? See an example in the video linked below (not my video) at the 0:24 mark. URL....
View 6 Replies View RelatedMy PC crashed and has two projects that I had completed a significant amount of work on. The the video files and vsp files are stored on Edrive and music on Ddrive. I had also created some painting creator files and am not sure where they will have been saved? Rather than try to reinstall windows and reformat the C drive I have decided to upgrade to a new PC. I could then remove the 2 slave drives from the old pc and use hard drive housings and a usb connection to link them to the new pc (don't feel confident enough to install them directly into the new one). I am concerned that the drives will then have different names and the vsp file will not recognise the files resulting in days of lost work. I notice that there is a function called relink but am not sure how this works and whether I will be able to use it to recover all of the edits easily.
The new PC will be intel i7 with nvidia gtx 570 graphics card, I have also ordered PROx4 ultimate so would prefer to use this.
The options as I see them are:
1. Reinstall windows and persevere with the old PC assuming that the slave drives are intact.
2. Remove the slave drives and connect through USB then try and rename the drive to the same as before (e and d)
3. Remove the drives and connect through USB, let the new pc allocate a name to them and use the relink function?

I've been looking & looking but the more I look the less I see.
View 1 Replies View RelatedIs it possible to attach an identify marker or title to a moving object in Video Studio X4 PRO. I video trains. As the train comes toward me in the video I would like to attach the number of the diesel and type to it and each unit behind it ,if there are any. As it comes closer the marker gets bigger and more readable then, as the diesel disappears from view it's marker goes with it and the next one does the same thing, then the next.
For example, during NASCAR races an identifying marker, showing the drivers name and car number, is applied on screen and stay "attached" to the car as it travels through traffic around the raceway until it's turned off.
I don't know if it will look good or not but I would like to try it. Is that possible or have I gone way beyond VS x4 pro's capability?
How to lock an picture (png, for example) to a moving object in Corel VideoStudio X5? maybe i might use some plugins? i know that in some video editing software this option exist and simply to use. is it real in videostudio x5?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm working on a lengthy video highlights project with many clips less than 5 seconds and want to know the easiest way to bulk move at least 10+ clips at a time on the timeline to either an earlier or later point than they're currently at. In essence, I'm hoping that I can "bulk" cut and paste all these clips together instead of doing it one clip at a time by either dragging each individual clip or cutting and pasting.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm a new user of VideoStudio X4 and I looking for information about moving and resizing objects or images.
For example, the Star Wars sequence where the Star Wars title passes from back (very big title) to infinite with downsizing, not the long scroll text, only de main title.
I am using VS5 for the first time by creating avi files in Proshow Producer and importing them into video studio to make a show with both video and still images. My question is; once clips are imported to the video track can they be moved left or right? The reason I ask is the videos made in Producer are not necessarily in the order of the finished show and I would like to move the clips around to make the flow of the show smoother. When I try to move the clips on the video track they won't move left or right but only up or down in the overlay track. When I move the clip where I want it and move it into the video track the clip snaps back into it's original position. Is moving the clips into the overlay track the only way I can put them where I want them or am I missing something?

View 7 Replies View RelatedVS9 enables users to virtually split clips by scene before adding them to the work space. It does not split the actual file but just keeps pointers to the various scenes. VS9 keeps this data in a file named scenedb.dat. However if the clip is moved to a different location then the scene information is not re-linked and is essentially lost (as far as VS is concerned) although the data is still in the scenedb.dat.
Is there any way to go around this problem and recover the scene info after a clip is moved?
That is, besides not moving the clips to a different folder than the one it was in when the scene data was first generated and/or re-generating the scen information?
I tried simple editing of the file path in the .dat file but this does not seem to work. It would be nice to understand the encoding rule for the scenedb.dat file to 1) update it 2) use it to generate some index db outside of VS (e.g. html page).
Can I move in Video Studio objects like photos/logos in a fully custom, controlled professional way ?
I mean seriously speaking even youtube tutorials from people having popular tutorial channels look quite amateur so not sure if Corel video studio is any good for making for example nice looking serious marketing clips.
In particular I want to achieve pretty basic effect with sliding transparent title bar and then title appearing (for example current speaker name) and then slide off.
It's the basic thing you see on TV all the time in talk shows or news channels.
Do I need to literally for example create white rectangular jpg first to use it as a background bar for subtitles? And then for example apply transparency, animate it and then shpw/animate text on top?I know there are attributes like Enter from right etc, but it's so simple and template like Powerpoint. I mean, I don't expect rolling in and out animation but at least more control over movement direction, position and timing.I think the newest Path feature from X6 looks like something I would be after but is there anything for that in X5? It seams very basic feature.
if I want to keep it tidy and apply the same animation for each title/text do just copy the set of clips with effects or there are ways of saving the 'template' so it is equally precise and the same every time throughout the movie.
how to remove the route line from the video and only keep the icon moving?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI used to be able to drag text with my mouse. Now, out of the blue, when I click on a text layer and try to move it with my mouse, CS automatically deselects my text layer and selects the background layer or a shape. Why is it automatically deselecting the text layer and selecting the background?! So, I can only move text with my arrow keys!

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've recently upgraded to X5 and now have a problem with text moving when editing.
As you can see in the image below, the text moves down and to the right and in this case making the red spell check line cut through the text.Â
Also, on another note - I've just noticed that the character spacing now seems to affect the whole text box, whereas before it would to it per paragraph. Does this mean all my older files will need to be edited to display right in X5?
I am, as of now, trying to learn the VB.NET programming for AutoCAD applications from scratch .
The question I wanted to ask the devs out there is that, is there any way or a function to move a text object within a layer to a different geometric location? I was thinking it could be accomplished by translating the text or offsetting it.
I've been using PS7 for a long time and this has never happened before. One minute things were fine and then something changed. Maybe I hit a combination of keys .... well here's the issue. I type text onto a blank layer. I try to move the text. In the pallette, the cursor drops off the text layer, and onto the background, instead. In order to move the text, I wind up clicking on it numerous times, or if I click on it very slowly, I can grab it to move it. This is not how it was working just yesterday. I'm sure this sounds confusing, I'm just not sure how to describe it any better. (It's not my mouse, I tried a different one.) I tried Adobe's help site and saw this:"Clicking in an image with a type tool puts the type tool in edit mode. You can enter and edit characters when the tool is in edit mode; however, you must commit changes to the type layer before you can perform some operations. To determine if a type tool is in edit mode, look in the options bar--if you see the Commit button (a check)Â and Cancel button (circle with slash), the type tool is in edit mode."

View 2 Replies View RelatedI just went from AutoCAD 2011 to 2012.
I move dims manually around quite often.
In 2011 I could select dim, Right click, Type "X" to bring up the move dim sub menu, Then either "M" to move dim alone or "L" to move it with a leader.
I can't seem to do that in 2012. I have to hover the mouse over the dim text grip point and wait for a menu to pop-up.
Obviously the former is way faster and I would like that back.
Also on a side note, I'm noticing 2012 to be ever so slightly slower. Micro second delays here and there. Extremely annoying when you're used to instant commands. Biggest culprit seems to be the move command. It hangs for a split second when I invoke the command. (and no I don't have properties up). Is this something I just need to get used too?
Been trying to add text to a moving gif pic with Ele.7. When i save the file the gif just becomes static.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI opened 2 separate hi res pdfs (the front and back of a postcard) in illustrator 5.1. The type on both sides had been outlined and we just relinked the background image on both sides after we did some color adjustments to it. The only type on the front was the name of the company and the headline. Both were white type in separate magenta bars. The type was centered both horizontally and vertically in each bar.
Â
When I opened the front, the headline text moved from being centered horizontally on the pdf to EXACTLY flush right with the company name. There were no problems with the text moving on the back side.
Â
We have been receving files from this client for several years and always make color adjustments due to the uncoated paper stock we print on and have never encountered this before. The original files that the supplied pdfs were made from were also created in illustrator 5.
What is the procedure for moving text in an image after it has been flattened. At one time I was able to use the Polygonal lasso tool to select and move, now I am unable to do so.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have probably a very simple problem but cannot figure out how to do it. I am adding text to a drawing and I want several leaders to be associated with this single text. I add my first text at tow head and then do a add vertex/leader. It will not let me add one unless it is on a line.
And it adds it but then I cannot get it off the line. I have tried holding down the shift, control and alt key before, during and after I have highlighted the arrowhead to move.
