Photoshop Elements :: 11 - Making Photo Collage / File Was Not A Valid Frame File
Jan 5, 2013Elements11: Trying to make a photo collage, but get the message : "Could not complete your request because the file was not a valid frame file". What does that mean? I follow the instructions given how to make a collage, but it comes to a halt when I try to import the pictures to the collage.

Feb 7, 2009OK, I have an image of a webpage layout approx 800 x 1300 I need to convert this to a layered psd. I know I can take the image and use the pen tool and cut each slice and make them all layers which is nuts. I also know how to slice up an image in PS and save as images and slices and did that, now all those slices that PS saved for me I need to turn back into layers that will sit in a .psd follow? But I can't seem to find a tutorial anywhere on doing this. I'm in CS3 and maybe I have been working too hard but this is boggling my mind. I see thousands of ready for the web templates all in Photoshop layered .psd's how are these getting done?

Dec 12, 2008I've got a number of images that are 300dpi which I need to save for the web. I've been able to take one image and change the dpi to 72 and then go into Image Ready and shrink the size some more. I've tried to automate the process but after I run a batch I actually get the files back double their original size. What might I be doing wrong here? I'm using PS 7 and, while in no way a professional, I can get by... except for this bit obviously! So, what's the best way to automate the process of turning my files into nice, lean web-ready images?

If I save it as a dvd, the sound is fine. I've reinstalled the software, still the same. Have I turned the audio off somehow when I try to make the file in Bluray format ?

Dec 5, 2011I'm working in VSX4. I've created a couple of small movies which I want to compile onto a single dvd. The video files from both movies combined only amount to about 3.2 GB, yet when I try to "share" and make the dvd with both of my vsp files, it adds up to be a total of over 7 GB. Is it normal to have this much "inflation" on a project? I've not done anything special as far as graphics or fancy menus or even chapter markers. It's just a handful of clips with the "crossfade" transition applied. And that's it.

Sep 10, 2013I have used X5 to build a slideshow, but this is the first time I tried using video. The source are mpg's created with the Sony Motion Picture Browser (taken with a DCR SR42 Handy Cam). I added title screens between my video segments. I then used the create disc link in section 3 to create a menu (linked to the titles I added previously). I then told it to make an ISO file. It reached ~ 85% of the title conversion (24% total) and the PC shut down. Not a crash, no errors, just shut down. I turn the PC back on and it boots up like normal, No unexpected shutdown screens, no safe mode, just normal boot up. I have downloaded and installed service packs 1 & 2. I was making a 16x9 video with standard ( not Dolby) audio.
This is a wedding video for a couple I know. I was able to burn a DVD from Sony software, but it is unedited video.

One layer only. i have some blocks and for combining some objects i used union..i applied different materials, Sun properties etc it doesn't take time to render but to edit or even a single click on objects make them very slow..i saw the file size, it was 550MB..i purged them and used overkill command so it reduced to 450MB now..

I have an AI, vector based, logo that I'm trying to fit onto a business card template. The logo is primarily text, with a circle surrounding one of the letters. The circle has a stroke that narrows on the right hand side to a tiny sliver. I am selecting all three layers (the top line of text, bottom line of text, and the surrounding circle), holding down the shift key to preserve the proportions, and grabbing the little box in the bottom corner to shrink the whole selection. As I make the selection smaller, the surrounding circle around one of the letters becomes fatter, changing the look of the logo. How do I correctly make the logo smaller, without converting it to a PDF or JPEG?

Aug 3, 2004I have a .psd file that was created by someone else for my friends web page. The psd file is the background, logo, and navigational bar for her home page. Each button is a "slice" I think because there are lines around each button on the left side navigational bar (not a true navigational bar just created by buttons) and around the head and body etc. (The lines are blue if that tells you anything - each section is numbered with a little tiny icon that looks a little like the back of an envelope.)
My question - we wanted to change the word on one of the buttons - I did that saved the psd file - no problem. Then I cropped out the button that we had changed. When I saved it to the web (as a jpg) the button looks like a button (a box around it - not a line a raised area that looks like a button.) The other buttons do NOT look like a button (even though the layers are named buttons.)
How can I change it so it looks flat (not button like) like all of the rest of the items on the navigational bar.
