I'm trying to make a "gag" gift for a friend.. his face on a fake $25 canadian bill. I'm doing this by changing a $20 bill. If you look at the Queen's photo, it's not a photo at all, but her image made out of simple lines. Instead of just pasting his photo over the Queen, I'd like to create that same effect.

View 13 Replies View RelatedI create a graphic in Corel Draw X4 and export it as a .png file. It is a button with rounded corners. It will be going on a black background when put into an iphone app. So as to not have the little white corners show up from the rectangular export window, I made the button on top of a black rectangle, slightly larger than the button. I then selected the black to be transparant during the dialogs of exporting to png. When viewed in an image viewer the black is indeed transparent and does not show up. All looks fine.
To test what it will look like when put on top of a black background, I also make a black square and export it as a .png. I then open the black background in Corel Photopaint and then import the graphic into the background image. A siloutte of it shows up with the marque borders but the graphic itself (the colors and contents of the graphic don't). When combined with the black background it just disappears. Why doesn't it just lay on top of the other graphic?
it came with my CS3. My OS is Windows XP. I have 1 G of RAM.
I am interested in changing a photograph into a flat graphic image like clip art. I do not know what it is called and so I don't know how to look it up for directions. But I think it must be possible as I have seen someone do it without permission to a sample of my artwork. I assume they took a photo of the art and then converted it some way to a graphic.
I thought this might be an affect one can use on a photo, but again, I don't know what the right terms are.
I would really like to know how they did this. I would love to make a similar 3D graphic for our online learning module.

Notice the blue bluring outside the main page. I know that this is done as a table background, but it also changes size on diffirent pages
do table backgrounds stretch? or do they repeat? is the guy using a diffirent background image for each page on hes site? Also another thing is that hes using the same image in the middle table on the left? or is that just the same image but stretched with a diffirent filename?

The Xara a/w looks perfect but when I view the .PDF convertion it has added squares with a cross inside to several of the foriegn languages where there should be spaces. I've tried varying the .pdf convertor set-ups but to no avail.

It is there in the directory, and I can see it in xara 6 as well. But I go to use it and it says it isn't installed and that I should install from help menu.
I have tried so many tings and recently I tried changing the permissions, still no go.
It's weird cause I also own Xara Web designer 6 and they open in that program fine...
I have tried three times today to download both Xara Designer Pro 7 and Xara Photo & Graphic Designer 7 from both the US and English web pages. In all cases, all I get is a small 3.5 mb file. When I click on the file, i get a spinning astrix that spins for 5 minutes then times out.
I was going to buy Xara Designer Pro 7 upgrade tonight, but since this happened, I'm holding off till I know that the software works on my system
System specs: Win 7 Home Premium, 8 gb ram, ATI Radeon 3750 512 mb ram.

I want to create an animation (not an animated .gif) that I can then include in a movie. I see how to set the properties for an AVI file but when I try to export the animation, I do not see the otption to save my file as a .avi. Am I missing something or is there a better alternative for creating an animation that can be included in a movie file?
I used Graphics & Photos 2013, I update the software yesterday and if I save my job as PDF, the transparency done on a picture is inverted.Currently I removed the transparency but it is not the solution.Issue appear only when I create a PDF file. By creating a JPG file it works.

I am able to bring a bitmap into a layer over another bitmap layer and by applying a particular mode, lets say Overlay or Soft Light, it will change the appearance of the new layer. I am working on a graphic design project - a print publication for a client. The original Word document that is the basis for the report contains footnotes. Insofar as I am able to do so, I would like to retain my client's structure, including the footnotes. Is this feasible with P&GD 6 or version 7? I cannot find any reference to "footnote" in the help provided with my installation.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI wonder if PaGD7 could be used for a short, letter-sized 48 page grayscale booklet with two column text and images on nearly every page (at 300DPI) and multiple fonts. Can the software handle this or I would be asking too much out of it?
I seem unable to find an automatic page numbering option, which would be necessary for a print publication. All other needed functions, including accurate kerning and baseline controls are there. I found some old mentions of auto page numbering in old threads but no positive answer. It would be a nice feature to have, assuming the program can handle such filesizes.
I know how to go in to my settings and change the default page settings on a new design, but I want my settings to ALWAYS come up with the settings I change them to. How do I set these so that every time I start Xara I don't have to go change the settings AGAIN?

When I am moving the brush tool directly left, right, up or down - I can make a perfectly straight line. But when I move it in an arc shape for example, it's like it's always trying to go back into a straight line instead of just cuuuuuurve...
Know what I mean? I am no noob to computers, I think it may have something to do with pixels being squares... But the thing is, I see a lot of paintings done in Photoshop that look so photo-realistic, perfect curvature and stuff. So there is a way!
I have Photoshop Elements 10 which I work with sparingly. I would like to outline a section of the photo (a face) and somehow select it to be the whole photo - in other words to get rid of all background elements. I can outline the area with lasso, but do not know how to just save that area. When I save, the whole original photo is saved. I also tried the magic extractor, which really worked to make just the face and crop everthing else out, but it has a white background the same size as the original photo, which means it is essentially a reactangle with a face in it. I am trying to just get the face so I can paste it into a document, sort of like when people put heads on fake bodies. This is for a church newsletter. I have done this with my old Picture It software, but that was on my old computer. I think I should be able to do this with all the gadgets Photo Shop has, but I must be missing something.
